Belle POV

Since last day  I noticed that Gian seemed to have a problem and when I asked him questions, he always answered only at work. It’s not that I don’t believe him but I just can’t help to think about it.

We also don’t meet often because we are both busy with work but when we have free time we are together. It’s just like now that we’re eating lunch together.

“Babe?” I get his attention.

He looked at me. “Hmmm?”

“Are you really sure you’re okay?” I asked him.

He nodded. “Yes babe, why?”

“Because you’re thinking so deeply,  I’ve noticed since last time that you seem anxious so I think there might be a problem.” I said.

“I’m just tired of the work babe, you know there are new projects.”

I smiled at him. “Maybe you’re too tired, give yourself time to rest. That’ll make you sick.” I promise.

“I will babe, I’m sorry for worrying you. And one more thing I know that when I get sick you’re there to take care of me.”

“Silly! Health is wealth, it’s better not to get sick.” I said while laughing.

“Yeah, don’t frown there.”

I just stared at him and continued eating but I still couldn’t forget the thing he was having trouble with, my hunch was that it wasn’t just about work. I know Gian even though he’s busy at work he won’t act like this.

I won’t just force him to tell me what’s going on because it might be personal and otherwise I’m sure he will also tell me then when he’s ready.

“By the way babe I saw Maxine last time. I didn’t know that she’s back already.” I changed the topic.

He immediately looked at me. “Did you two talk?” he asked quickly which surprised me.

“No, we’re not close. I just saw her when I went to the mall. Why?” I asked him.

He shook his head at me. “I just asked because you said you saw her.”

“Yes and I didn’t say we talked. You’re crazy.” I promise.

He laughed. “I think she’s been back for a long time.”

“And you’re updated.” I joke.

“No I’m not babe.”

“Oh don’t be silly I’m just joking.” I promise.

“I know that.” he replied and smiled.

Gian POV

I’ve been having problems for a few days because of Maxine and I also know that Belle already notices my anxiety because she always asks me questions and she believes when I say it’s just about work.Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.

Maxine has been harassing me for a few days like the other day when she came to my office and invited me out. I rejected her because I don’t want to have an issue and I still have a lot of work but she seems to have prepared for this matter. He showed me something. A photo where the two of us are kissing. I remember that night I was at the bar. I didn’t know she was also there and she kissed me.

I don’t want Belle to see that picture because I knew it would cause a fight and a problem in our relationship and I don’t want to hurt her.

And even though I’m busy, I can’t reject Maxine when she calls or passes by my office because of the picture she’s holding that she will send to Belle when I don’t agree to meet her. I didn’t know she was going to end up in this thing, I knew she loved me and she wanted me to go back to her but that thing wasn’t that easy and I knew in myself that Belle is the one I loved.

I almost went crazy thinking of a way to get it from her but I’m sure she had another copy just in case I got the picture.

I suddenly looked at Belle when she mentioned Maxine, I was suddenly nervous because they might have met or talked. Fortunately, that didn’t happen. I don’t want the two of them to meet again because maybe what else will Max do when that happens.

I need to think and act faster, I need to end Maxine’s mania, somehow I don’t want to hurt her and hope because we also have a relationship. If it hadn’t been for Belle and me maybe it would have been possible but Belle was given to me not just as a friend.

I need to meet Maxine later to end whatever is connecting the two of us and then I will also talk to Belle and tell her what really happened because I don’t want to keep it a secret from her.

“Are you done babe?” I asked Belle.

“Yep, I’m just waiting for you.” she replied.

“Alright, I’m done too.” I said smiling

“So are you going back to the office now?”

I shook my head. “I just want to have time with you now, I don’t have anything else to do. How about you?” I asked her.

“Nothing.”

“Great! I can have you today.” I said.

She smiled at me. “Maybe you still need to finish your work, ” she said.

“My work can wait and I really don’t have anything to do today but later I just need to go somewhere to talk. You can stay at my condo and I’ll be right back.” I promise.

She nodded. “Sure, so where are we going?” she asked me.

“Where do you want?” I asked her again.

“Can we go first to the mall? I need to buy something and I saw another Cafe near there and their delicious cakes and frappe babe.” she said vigorously.

“All right I’ll come with you after that let’s go over what you’re saying. Let’s see if it’s really delicious.” I said.

“I’m sure of it babe, because I tried to eat there last time.”

“Without me? You are being unfair babe.” I promise.

“I just happened to be there the last time I went to the office, it’s still open so I bought something there.”

“Okay okay babe, I know your tastes when it comes to sweets. You and Agatha are the same.” I said while laughing.

“What’s funny? It’s really more delicious than those of you who love coffee.”

“Talking to yourself babe? All I know is you love coffee too.” I tease her.

“I have a different flavor and I’m more on the frappe.” hero defense.

I just shook my head and led her into the car.
