Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1382

As the peaceful days passed by, Victoria's fear had slowly dispersed. She was like a turtle in the deep seas. After having her head hidden safely in her shell for a long time, she had gradually pulled it out and saw the light she was once used to. Her life had slowly returned to normal. Now, she was at her studio and had resumed her nine to five working life.

Victoria had finalized all her drafts that day. She sorted out all the documents before scurrying out of the

room.

After finishing her work, she contemplated something for a while. It was three in the afternoon. Victoria decided to give her assistant a call on the phone.

"Abigail, I'm not heading back today. Handle the store well with Mr. McGowan..."

"Yeah, no need to rush, and you don't have to work overtime or anything. Just get off work as usual." "Remember to lock the door..."

After nagging for a little while, Victoria started the car. However, a different plan had been forming in her mind. She stopped by a market on the way back as she grabbed a common and reasonably priced haddock fish.

After putting the fish in the car, Victoria opened the car door and was ready to leave as a familiar figure came into her sight. It had caught her off guard.

Anthony?

How did he know she was there?

Victoria's lips moved, but before she could say anything, Anthony confessed, "I saw your car just now, when I was driving. I followed you here!"

He didn't expect her to be in such a place! She was born into a good family, and although she wasn't as squeamish and fragile, she didn't exactly like being in oily and filthy places like the kitchen. Like most daughters of wealthy families, she had enjoyed things like fashion and art more. To put it bluntly, she had only ever entered the kitchen to make a show. She had to know a few simple dishes and everything would be okay!

Nevertheless, right there and then, Victoria Atlas was in the smelly fish market!

She hated these kinds of places the most, didn't she?

Anthony became emotional as he noticed the drastic changes in Victoria.

Despite that, why did he follow her there?

"Victoria, are you going to surrender to your fate just like this? Have you forgotten all those things Trevor has done to you? Can someone like him give you true happiness? You know, if he can treat you like this today, he can treat some other woman just as richly tomorrow!"

Anthony's fists were clenched. He would never accept this kind of outcome.

Victoria should detest and despise Trevor! She was never the forgiving type. However, she was evidently in love with him. She was drawn to him like how addicts are drawn to their drugs. How could she not notice?

Anthony was puzzled and at a loss as well. He couldn't comprehend her thoughts anymore.

He slowly grabbed her wrists as he tried to convince her, "If you can forgive him, if you can accept him, can you do the same for me? Can you give me a second chance too?"

This time, he wouldn't let her down! He wouldn't!

Anthony's voice and expression were so calm and composed. Similarly, after having been through so much, Victoria wasn't so easily triggered anymore. She was also able to maintain her serenity and composure.

If truth be told, she herself didn't know why Trevor had suddenly changed his attitude towards her! Trevor was sometimes so spontaneous and unpredictable.

That was why she couldn't answer Anthony's question!

Nevertheless, Victoria knew Anthony relatively well.

"Even if I gave you another chance,

are you sure you're strong enough to keep me by your side? What if

history repeats itself? Have you ever thought of that? What if Trevor- wants me back? What's your plan then? Do you want to go bankrupt, Or perhaps we'll die together and live 'happily' as a couple in another life?"

She had posed him multiple questions, yet the hint of mockery in her voice and tone was clear. Both of them knew very clearly that if history does repeat itself, the results would be the same. If not, it would be worse.

Anthony fell silent as Victoria's tone eased, "It's not that I don't believe you, Anthony, and I certainly don't look down on you! It's just that, this is reality. You don't know Trevor-"

He could restrain and subdue the Yamano Association. Anthony was no match for him.

Victoria shook her head and couldn't help but sigh. "Stop wasting your time on me," she murmured, "What may happen in the future doesn't matter. Focus on the here and now. And now, we can't be together!" Their shared memories and experiences flashed through Victoria's mind and filled her with emotions. She had given the matter a lot of thought.

"I believe you had loved me, Anthony. We were separated, not because we didn't love each other, but because of reality! You don't have the power or ability to change anything, and neither do I! This is our fate! We can't escape it! Perhaps, we're just not right for each other!"

He couldn't protect her!

To be frank, at that moment, Victoria would choose Trevor over Anthony! Once again, Anthony fell into silence.noveldrama

Strength and power were everything in this world, were they not? People kept saying love can overcome all, but that wasn't true. It doesn't matter how much love a person has. In the end, love will end in marriage, but without strength and power, how could he handle marriage? How could he possibly promise her a happy future?

Anthony clenched his fists tighter, but he could only keep the hatred deep in his heart. He didn't even have the right to fight back.

Victoria slowly pushed him away and opened the door. She gave him a big, bright smile.

"I don't hate you, and we're even now! Don't hang on to me anymore! Move on, find someone more suitable for you, and live a good life! I hope you, no, I hope the both of us -find true happiness!" Victoria took one last glance at him before turning her back. She slipped into the car, yet bitterness lingered in her eyes.

The car slowly picked up speed, however, a relieved smile appeared on her face. Moving on was the most difficult thing in the world, but forgiveness was the most honorable one!

She had untied the messy knot that had been tangling up the both of them. She thought it would make the sky clearer and their days better, but it was the last straw for Anthony. She had utterly crushed him, she had annihilated his already broken heart-

Victoria hurried into the kitchen and busied herself with cooking the moment she returned home.

When Trevor returned, he had heard about her colonization in the kitchen. He didn't even put down his briefcase before rushing to the kitchen, "Vicky? You-"

He really was afraid that Victoria would burn herself to death in the kitchen, wasn't he?

His gaze fell on the table where some decent dishes lay.

The fried egg was a little overdone, but it still looked pretty alright. Victoria obviously took a shortcut while making the salad. By the looks of it, she must've just mixed some veggies with some sauce, but it was a creative method, and it looked edible. There was also a plate of roasted duck and another plate of desserts. Four eggs tarts and two cakes. Trevor was pretty confident about the desserts since it was Victoria's speciality.

She had combined the meat and veggies so cleverly!

"Hubby, you're back? I'm cooking today, so help me out, alright?"

Victoria pulled him over and urged him to sit down. She pushed the desserts in front of him and she

informed him excitedly, "There's a surprise too! We can eat it soon!"
