"Was this why you wanted to talk with me? You're being a bit too careful=" Trevor rubbed her nose as he smiled. Her wariness was very much likable!

"It was Nina Sherman! She's Selena's maid. She came from a poor family, but she was able to attend university. She's pretty hardworking, unfortunately, her family's conditions aren't that good. She used to work at a nightclub and was harassed by some men one day. I happened to be nearby, so I stepped in. She said she was grateful and wanted to one day return the favor! Nina later found out that I was looking for a maid for Selena, so she volunteered! To be frank, being Selena's maid was pretty hard. She would have to be by Selena's side 24/7, and sometimes, she might need to stay overseas with her for a while." Trevor stopped to take a breath. He looked at Victoria as he continued explaining.

"I didn't expect her to handle the job so well. She has stuck by Selena's side for so many years. Nina's hardworking, and she went through university, so she was a pretty fast learner too. Selena grew up isolated, while Nina grew up impoverished, I guess that's why the both of them clicked so well! Didn't Selena invite you out last time? You even fell off the bridge because of her! I've criticized her about it, and perhaps she cooled down and reflected on her actions? She was clearly too embarrassed to face me, though, so she asked Nina to send some desserts over. However, I was busy dealing with something else, so I asked a secretary to accept her desserts. Nina came over and sat down for a while, but she left after we chatted for a little bit-"

She was probably only there for about five minutes!

Victoria's glance landed on the delicate box on his desk. If it weren't for Trevor, she wouldn't have noticed it at all.

"By the way, you haven't eaten yet! You must be starving! Why don't you eat some of those desserts while I order takeout for you?"

Trevor didn't pay much attention to Victoria as he kept on talking. However, as soon as she heard Selena Duff's name, Victoria's heart sank.

A maid? How was it possible for a maid to clothe so elegantly?

Even though she had only seen the woman's back, Victoria could tell that her clothes were over the odds. And the perfume! It was surely not some cheap perfume you'd get from a typical store. It was pleasant, but not overpowering. The woman had delicately dressed herself up!

Of course, Victoria didn't regard maids with contempt. It wasn't odd for the company's employees to dress up formally too. However, she had this abnormal feeling in her guts which told her that something was off about the whole situation. From Trevor's description, this maid he was talking about sounded trustworthy and satisfactory. She didn't continue her inquiries.

"Okay. Hubby, can you help get me a pizza and a drink? Since Selena has shown her sincerity, we shouldn't let it go to waste!"

"Is she trying to 'bribe' my husband with some petty desserts?" The thought crossed Victoria's mind, "Well, anyone could do that! I'm going to eat as much as I can! I'm going to devour them all!" With the thought in mind, Victoria felt the sweet sweet scent of revenge.

Now she knew where to look. The truth no longer mattered. Victoria would focus on the solutions for the problem and also take some preventative measures!

Her gaze fell on the folder in her hand as Victoria's mind spun at light speed, "Trevor's secretary had greeted Nina, but the woman's movements were shifty!"

Perhaps she was thinking too much, but she couldn't pretend as though nothing had happened! Trevor was delighted with Victoria's reaction to the situation. She wasn't being overly emotional. She wasn't even angry! After ordering her takeout, Trevor pulled her over to the desk and opened the box. They were surprised to find a hot drink inside. Furthermore, there were egg tarts, biscuits, and a few kebabs and skewers as well. It looked sumptuous and well-prepared. As Victoria took in the food's aroma, she narrowed her eyes.

"Wow, there's so much delicious food! They even prepared Grisly's favorite biscuits and dried fish, sadly, it's not here-"

She should've brought Grisly here! It would've happily wolfed down all the desserts!

After taking a glance at the grand meal, Trevor's phone rang. He turned around to take his phone. He also checked his messages. He seemed indifferent about them.

However, Selena made these for Trevor. Even though Victoria wanted to ruin them, she didn't dare go overboard. She could only stare at him while he was on his phone.

Trevor inadvertently raised his gaze and said, "Don't worry about me! Eat, eat!"

He wasn't fond of deserts anyway!

With his permission, Victoria felt more relieved as she replied, "Alright! You better hurry up over there, Hubby! I'll leave some for you..."

As she reached out her hand, a thought struck Victoria. She went inside and positioned her drafts. Then, she returned with her handphone. She surrounded the deserts with some flowers before taking some pictures. She made sure that Trevor's jade ornaments appeared in the pictures. Finally, she posted some of the pictures on Facebook.

"A lovely sunshine. A lovely afternoon. A lovely him. Let's eat! Everything is lovely..."

She uploaded three pictures in total. A picture of the food, a picture of her eating an egg tart, and finally, a picture of him.

Victoria couldn't stop giggling while posting the pictures. Selena wasn't going to see them, obviously, but she was still over the moon!

She showed no signs of hesitation while she ate the tarts. Victoria would usually control her food intake, especially when she ate desserts high in calories. However, it was a cheat day. No matter how picky she was, she pushed as much food as she could down her throat. She didn't leave any tarts or biscuits behind.

Victoria was shocked to discover that the biscuits were salty.

It wasn't too bad. Obviously, the desserts were prepared for someone who wasn't especially fond of desserts!

With that thought in mind, Victoria was full of the joys of spring. She continued gobbling up the desserts merrily.

After replying to the messages,

Trevor returned to his seat, only to realize that half the desserts were gone. Only one out of four egg tarts were left, and the neatly arranged biscuits seemed to have

experienced some kind of natural disaster. Victoria had tried all of them, except for the kebabs and fish skewers. She left them untouched.

Did she leave them for him?

Trevor reached out his hand to brush the crumbs off the corner of her lips. He stroked her hair fondly, "You're famished! Don't worry about me, eat them all if you like!" Trevor wasnûnterested in the drinks as well, thus, he got up and made two cups of coffee. He remembered to add more milk into Victoria's.

"Don't be too greedy. Leave some room for the pizza!"

Victoria responded as she licked her fingers.

"Delicious! I wonder who made them? The egg tarts are wonderful! Hubby, do you want to try one? They're fantastic, although they are a little cold-"

Whoever made these yogurt egg tarts made them with much love and affection. They even added some cheese and egg yolk to it. Victoria had never eaten anything like that before, and she enjoyed them very much!

Although Trevor kind of liked egg tarts, he ate them quite often, so he shook his head and took a kebab instead.

"It's alright, I'll eat this!" Trevor replied as he responded to the text messages on his phone.

He had to eat something to show some gratitude, after all!

Needless to say, the egg tarts that day were certainly specially-made. They weren't like the yogurt egg tarts he usually ate. They had some unique elements in them.

Despite that, men aren't as observant as women. They were usually clumsy and careless. Trevor's imprudence had caused Selena and Nina's hard work to be devastated by Victoria.

Trevor was oblivious to the salty biscuits and ignorant of the custom-made egg tarts. Instead, he ate a kebab which was no great shakes. The other kebab eventually ended up in Victoria's belly, too. At the end of the day, only the fish skewers were left uneaten.

The fish skewers were cold and started emitting an unpleasant smell. The couple didn't have much of an appetite either. After the meal, Victoria took another picture and published a post showing her gratitude. "What a full meal, superb! Someone's going to gain some weight after this, but it's worth it..."noveldrama

The message was followed by a

kissing face emoji and a crying face emoji. The three pictures posted along with the captions brought deeper meaning to the post. A

picture of her bloated belly, and lastly, a cute little cartoon. In the cartoon, a boy was holding some food while a girl with a bloated belly was eating like crazy. The cartoon was coupled with the words 'fat, fat, fat' to make it more amusing.

Victoria felt free and easy after posting the pictures.

Trevor even liked her post. Victoria didn't know if he was too dense or stupid. She got up and tidied up the

room. She left the fish skewers on the desk, though.

"Hubby, are you sure you don't want to eat some?"

Trevor didn't even look up while he replied, "Yeah... Throw them away!"

"How could you say that? We can't waste food! I'll take it back and feed them to Grisly! This is its favorite!" Victoria found a plastic bag and wrapped the skewers up carefully. She couldn't help but giggle.

If Selena knew that the majority of her hard work had ended up in Victoria and Grisly's bellies, she would go ballistic!

Careless men are quite infuriating sometimes!

"The egg tarts were so delicious. I wonder if I'll ever get to eat them again-"

After having the desserts, Victoria felt more relaxed, even though someone had probably seen her design drafts. Trevor was busy and inattentive the whole time. He didn't realize how troubled Victoria was earlier. However, he had taken her last sentence seriously.

After tidying up the place, Victoria had organized a plan for the incident regarding her designs. Before Trevor could ask her about it, Victoria grabbed her documents and scurried back to her little corner. With a pen in hand, Victoria pulled out her phone and started typing-

Trevor returned to his seat as he poured himself into his work as well. The setting sun shone warmly on the couple as nighttime approached.
