Agatha POV

Since I saw Ethan and Melissa at the mall, I haven’t invited him again because I don’t want to receive a rejection for the reason that he is busy even though I know the truth.

Ethan also didn’t know what I found out and no; the day I saw them at the mall. Ethan often talks to me but I only nod and when he invites me out I refuse and Melissa is to the rescue offering herself that she will be the one to go with Ethan.

Everytime I meet Belle and Zey I will tell them everything that is happening in the house.

I just came home today because Belle and I met again, because she came with me to buy a gift for her cousin because it’s her birthday. We only lingered because we even went around and ate. Then she drove me home but she didn’t go inside because she didn’t want to see Melissa’s face.

When I went inside, I saw that Ethan and Melissa were watching TV but they were not next to each other. I was about to pass them to go straight to the bedroom when Ethan suddenly looked at me. “Baby, you’re already here.” he said and clung to me to kiss me on the lips.

“Yeah, it took us a while to find the perfect gift.” I said weakly.

“Have you eaten already?” he asked me.

“We ate before going home, I’ll go upstairs now.” I promised and walked away. I know that he won’t be able to accompany me to the meal either because I’m sure they’re both done.

Ethan POV

I just stared behind my girlfriend when she left and went up to the bedroom. I don’t understand but since last week, her treatment of me has changed. I have tried to invite her to have lunch or dinner several times but she always refuses but when Belle or Zey invite her , she goes with them. I know I’ve been busy for the past few days but I said I’ll make it up to her.

I told  Melissa that I was going to go upstairs because I was already drowsy but the truth is that I will talk to Agatha.

When I entered the room she was not there but I heard the murmur of water in the bathroom so I was sure it was taking a bath.

I just sat on the bed to wait for her to finish so that we could talk, I didn’t want us to have a problem that would affect our relationship.

Soon she came out, she looked at me but also immediately walked straight to the mirror to comb her hair.

“Baby, can we talk?” I started but she didn’t even look at me and continued combing her hair.

I know she has a problem based on her actions, I know her very well.

I stood up and walked over to her then hugged her tightly. I miss her.

“Baby.” I called her again.

“What to talk about?” she said coldly.

“What’s wrong?” I asked her.

Shelooked at me as if wondering. “What do you mean?” she asked.

“Agatha I know that there is a problem, so I’m asking you so that we can talk about it.” I said.

“What do you really want to talk about? Just say it directly to me. ”

“What is your problem? What is on your mind? You  thought I didn’t notice that you have been avoiding me for how many days already, when I am inviting you out for lunch or dinner you refuse it.” I said seriously.

“Why? Melissa is with you already, she’s always available. I’m not rejecting your invitation. You know that it happens that I also need to take care of something. ” she said.

“Do you have a problem with Melissa? The person doesn’t do anything bad to you, sometimes she is inviting you also to go out. ” I promise, I notice that she is often annoyed with Melissa.

“I don’t have a problem with her, I already told you my reason why I can’t be with you when you are inviting me.”

“You don’t have a problem with her? Really Agatha? It’s obvious that you’re angry at her! Why is it that when Zey or Belle is inviting you, you have time but when it comes to me you have so many reasons or you need to do something at work.”

“Are you done with what you’re going to say?” She asked me and started walking to bed. But I pulled her arm. “Agatha!” I can’t help but to shout at her.

“What now Ethan?”

“Is this how you want us? I’m talking to you nicely but you’re the one who’s stubborn here. ” I said.

“I already answered your question. What else do you want me to say?”

“What you want to say and what your problem is! I’m not a fool to believe to your stupid reasons! ” I couldn’t help but raise my voice to her.

“And I’ll tell you again and again that I don’t have a problem, maybe you’re the one who has a problem and not me.”

I tugged at my hair out of frustration. “Then why are they acting like this? Why are you avoiding me?”

She looked at me and laughed. “I’m not avoiding you, I’m just thinking maybe you need time and space,”

“Is it because I’m busy? I told you, didn’t I? I just have things to finish at work so sometimes I can’t accompany you. ”

“Are you busy? Really” then she laughed sarcastically.

I couldn’t understand what she was saying because it was obvious that she was mad at me.

“What do you mean?” I ask her.

“I know you’re busy when it comes to me, it’s not like before that you can postpone everything.” she said sadly.

“Agatha.” I called her name.

“I know everything, I know you’re not in your office.” smilin, she promised. “I don’t know how you can leave even if you have unfinished work.”

“I don’t know what to think anymore, I don’t know why you have to lie to me.”

“Agatha, you know I can’t do that to you.” I said.

“Really? I’m not blind Ethan. As far as I remember you were always with Melissa and the day I went to your office to invite you to lunch you were not there and your secretary said you left with Melissa. I even called you to ask where you are but you said you are in the office because you have a lot of work. I just went to the mall alone and I saw you two show up in a store. Why Ethan? Why do you need to lie to me? ”

Suddenly I remembered the day Melissa went to the office and ask me if I could drive her to the mall because she had something to buy and Agatha called me because I didn’t want her to think negative I didn’t say I was in the mall and who was with me because I noticed she is mad at Melissa.

I approached her and held her hand. “Baby I’m sorry, I didn’t want to lie to you that time, I was just wondering what you might think about it.” I explained to her.

“You think lying to me will not hurt me? You are not thinking about how I will feel Ethan. You choose to lie rather than to tell me the truth. How can I trust you?” Her voice showed pain and resentment.
