The Woman From Hell

Chapter 2639

That evening, recalling the incident in the mountains made Nina sad, and she ended up drinking a lot. I could not stop her and could only call Jason and ask him to come over to take her home. After I was done talking to Jason, I looked back at Nina who was lying on the sofa while shaking my head slowly.

Shannon came back from dancing and saw Nina who was now drunk. "How much did she drink?"

"Not much. It doesn't look like she holds her alcohol well." I smiled.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

Her mood took a dive when she mentioned the mountains, and so did mine.

Despite it having been a long time, I still feel terrified when I thought about it.

If it had not been for the honest Frank Fulmer, it would have been a while before Theo found us.

We took Nina out of the bar. Jason arrived just in time, and when he saw Nina drunk, he frowned slightly. "Why did you drink so much?"

Handing Nina to him, I said, "She ended up drinking a bit more when she recalled some sad things. Hurry up and take her home." "Thank you."

Starting the car, Jason drove away with Nina while Shannon and I also bid each other farewell and went home.

When I got home, Theo was already in the room.

He looked up at the time and then smiled at me, "You've been coming home late recently, Madam. You smell like alcohol too."

"I had a proper reason. We were celebrating Nina getting married today."

I went up and hugged Theo, feeling safe in his arms.

Theo was probably a little surprised at my sudden proactiveness before hugging me back. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing. Nina brought up something from the past today, and it reminded me of how dangerous it was," I said softly as I felt his heartbeat.

"Are you talking about what happened in the mountains?" Theo immediately hit the nail on the head.

Extracting myself from his embrace, I nodded. "Yeah. That probably left its mark on you as well. You knew it the moment I mentioned it."

Theo stretched out his hands to tidy up my messy hair. "Of course, it did. I lost contact with you for so long. I was worried about you during that time. Fortunately, you came back safely," he said softly.

"Yes, I'm back safe." I fell into his arms again and hugged him deeply. Only he could give me such peace of mind.

He did not say anything and just hugged me quietly.

Just like that, we lay unmoving

some time before I reluctantly straightened up. "By the way, how's development going with that piece of land you bought?"

"How can such a big project happen that fast? But you can rest assured that everything is going according to plan."

I had always trusted Theo and did not ask any more questions since he said so.

"Caroline doesn't know about that incident, so don't let it slip. Since Nina was there and..."

Despite me not finishing my sentence, Theo understood what I was trying to say. "Why would I say any of this to Caroline? Don't worry about it."

"Just in case, lest you suddenly end up chatting with Caroline and say something you shouldn't."

"Don't worry," Theo said calmly.

"That's good." After saying that, I went into the bathroom to take a shower.

After coming out and sitting in front of the dressing table, Theo suddenly asked from the bed, "How's the face cream going?"

"I've only used it over two days. I don't feel an irritation, but I don't see any effect for the time being. I' see whatchanges there are after using it for a week." As I said this, I lifted the lid of the Golden-O Face Cream and started applying it.

Theo fixed his eyes on me. "I look forward to your feedback."

"The team at EUR made me quite expectant too." I smiled, hoping that this cream would not disappoint.
