The Woman From Hell

It had been obvious to me that Neil was much more excited than before. However, based on how that meeting went just now, he should not be feeling this good. At the red light of the intersection, I stopped the car.

I looked at the man beside me and asked, "You seem happy?"

Neil pursed his lips when he heard that, looking a little embarrassed. "Is it very obvious?"

I nodded and pointed the mirror at him. "Quite. Is it because you saw your idol?"

"Yes. I've always seen President Grant as a role model. I'm very happy to have met him," Neil said, the corners of his mouth pulling unconsciously into a grin.

He seemed really happy, yet I should apologize for Theo's attitude toward him just now.

I pursed my lips and smiled apologetically. "About that... Theo didn't treat you very nicely just now. I apologize on his behalf."

Neil waved his hands. "It's really fine, I don't mind. I'm just very happy to have been able to meet President Grant."

Why did it sound like he was harboring some secret love? Could Neil be...

Probably noticing my strange expression, Neil quickly explained, "Wanda, don't get me wrong. I just admire President Grant. I've no other thoughts."

"You don't need to give me an explanation. Perhaps it's because I rarely encounter such an appreciation between men, so... I'm sorry." I bit my lower lip and quickly started the car when I saw that the light had turned green. It was ridiculous that Nibel had made me so nervous recently.

After reaching Neil's place, he got out of the car. "Thank you for sending me back, Wanda. Be careful on your way back."

"Alright. Let's meet up again next time."

Neil muttered, but I still caught what he said.

"Nothing. I'm just rambling. You should go back lest President Grant worries." Neil smiled at me.

I waved my hand at him and then started the car back.

When I got back to the villa, Caroline was still there. She looked like she had just coaxed the children to sleep. "Thank you, Caroline. You should rest soon." "You're back, Madam. You too."

Caroline called me to a stop abruptly before stuffing a wedding invitation into my hand.

"What's this?"

I opened the wedding invitation and exclaimed with surprise, "Jason and Nina are getting married so soon?"

"Yes, it's unusual for Jason to want to settle down so quickly. Remember to come with President Grant!"

"Congratulations, Caroline."

I had not been to Green Orange for the past few days and so had no idea about this. I still ought to offer Nina my congratulations personally.

I went upstairs happily with the

wedding invitation, but when I

opened the door, I noted the sulten expression on Theo's face. "What's the matter? Why are you unhappy?"

Seeing that I had returned, Theo came back to his senses. "I'm not. Whose wedding invitation are you holding?"

"Jason and Nina's. They're getting married. Caroline probably did not want to give it to you when she saw the sour expression on your face when you came back." I put the wedding invitation on the table. I had to admit that the cover photo was very beautiful. "Look how perfect they are for each other."
