The Woman From Hell

Chapter 2622

I pretended to be calm and met Nibel's eyes.

"Now that we've signed the contract, our next step is to develop Golden-O. Let's make a sample first. We'll then try it out next time. I'll be leaving for today now."

Nibel nodded slightly. Keith then sent him off downstairs.

Theo turned his gaze to me after he left. "Wanda, you shouldn't be distracted."

"I know. I'm just worried..." I frowned. It did not seem right to say it out now since Theo had just signed the contract with Nibel.

Perhaps I was unable to let my guard down all at once after so many things had happened in the past.

Seeing through my thoughts, Theo covered the back of my cold hand with his own large one. "I told you I'd pay attention to Nibel. If anything goes wrong with him, it'll be within my control. Don't worry." This was not the first time Theo had told me this. I ought to believe him.

I nodded and smiled. "Alright. I trust you'll be able to handle this properly."

"It's definitely because you're exhausted. Your mind is still in knots after what happened with Delia before. I'll have Keith arrange a vacation for us this weekend. Let's go and relax, just the two of us." "This weekend? But Munchkin-"

"Don't worry. He'd look forward to the both of us spending time."

Seeing how excited Theo was, it would not be nice of me to reject him either. "Alright then." I had indeed not gone out to relax with Theo for a long time. We could also take this opportunity to rekindle our relationship. Having gotten my agreement, the smile on Theo's face became brighter. "Good. I'll have Keith choose a good spot."

Since we only had two days, we did not have the convenience to travel too far. Thus, we went to a small town that was next to Whaldorf City.

This place did not have the hustle and bustle of a big city and was more tranquil. Walking hand in hand with Theo through the old town, I felt a special feeling in my heart.

His hand was big and warm. I felt reassured when he held me.

We were a couple in love, walking together down this small path with only a few people. I could not help but smile.

Noticing my smile, Theo asked, "Are you sneaking a laugh?"

"I'm not. If I did, how could you have.

I noticed Theo looking at me from the corner of my eye. There was a smile on his handsome face. I turned to look at him. "Why do you keep looking at me?"

He stopped and held my face in his hands. "I'm just realizing how thin you are. I ought to feed you more and put some flesh on your bones."

"I'm not thin. It's only because you haven't seen me for a long time." I lowered my gaze slightly, my eyes were dim.

I felt an extra warmth on my lips.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

Theo actually kissed me here, but he

moved away just after a few

seconds. He smiled at me. "We should be careful in public. We don't

want to attract too much attention."

"So you are aware of the situation."

"It's because my wife is so attractive that I find it hard to keep my calm."

There was something in his words that abruptly elicited a blush from me. When Theo saw that, he smiled and said, "We've been married so long, yet you still blush."

"It's because of you. You've become more and more of a hoodlum."

"You're probably happy since I only treat you like this."

He said that so calmly, and my heart soared.

Unconsciously, my smile deepened. Holding hands with him as we trodded the path, I hoped there would not be an end to it. "It'd be pretty good if our days were always this calm."

"Once the kids are grown, I'll give them the company and then we can retire. By then, we can have all the peace you want."

"I can't imagine you being a father that shirks his work to his kids."

"Is the missus not thinking the same?"

He hit the nail on the head, and I smiled slowly. "I am too."

The path was filled with our laughter, and I was very happy during this weekend getaway.
