Remington remained stoic, offering no reply.

Peterson, undeterred, continued, Ive placed a hefty bet on her this round, confident shell finish safely.

Remington turned to him with a frosty gaze.

Arent you concerned for her safety? I trust Hannah.

Im not worried, Peterson replied.

He observed the track and noted, Hannah is riding my horse today.

Im sure shell win.

Then, looking at Remington, he asked, Didnt you place a bet? Thats none of your concern, Remington retorted.

Peterson chuckled.

Relax, Remington.

Its merely a contest.

Nothing untoward will occur.

At the sound of the starting gun, all eyes shifted to the race.

Hannah, Maloney, and another competitor quickly pulled ahead.

Remington and Peterson were not present on the field.

The other contenders for the Lyons family succession were with Hannahs group.

Shortly thereafter, one competitor was eliminated.

Suddenly, only six were left racing, with Hannah pushing her horse to full.

Midway around the track, three more competitors were taken out by the hunter, albeit less aggressively this time due to the presence of Lyons family members.

By the end, only three remained, echoing the earlier round.

Hannah had already created a significant gap between herself and the trailing duo, making it challenging for them to catch up.

Peterson, watching from the stands, grinned.

Looks like I might win this bet.

Remingtons gaze remained fixed on the speeding horses, his expression grim.

Abruptly, a startling incident occurred, eliciting screams of shock from the spectators! The hunter had almost caught up to a man from the Lyons family, who was originally lagging behind.novelbin

The next moment, for seemingly no reason, his horse fell to the side.

With no time to react, he was diving forward.

Even with the reins in his hands, there was nothing he could do to break his fall.

Ah! Oh my god! He is getting trampled by the horse! After he fell, the horses hind legs stepped on him, knocking him unconscious.

The race was still ongoing, and despite the critical situation, the medical staff couldnt rush into the field to get to him.

They would have to wait until a few horses had run ahead before they could start giving him first aid.
