The Luna's Hidden Destiny

The Luna’s Hidden Destiny – Chapter 59

(Mila a few hours earlier)

After spending some time in the kitchen with all of Laura’s friends, I was ecstatic to have other girls around my age who I could actually talk with. There was Lottie, who was Tristan’s sister, and Priya, who was part of the Crescent Moon pack. Their pack was about five hours from here but they had been allied with Black Stone for nearly 15 years or so.

Rose was their Luna and she was good friends with Laura and Patty, who happened to be Tristan and Lottie’s mom. Genevieve was here too and I was happy that I could finally apologize to her for everything that happened. She said she should be the one apologizing and it was all water under the bridge.

Lottie was something else, she had dark red hair just like Tristan with hazel eyes, her skin a light tan, and her appearance was that of a natural beauty. She also had her nose pierced with a small diamond stud in it. I heard she was the type of girl who doesn’t put up with anyone’s crap, which I admired already.

“Mila..how have you been surviving all this time with those brutes..especially Blake..he is the worst..no offense, Laura.” Lottie teased while slicing a carrot as she looked at me.

Surprisingly, I thought Blake had been the friendliest out of everyone.

“Oh none taken, but sorry to tell you, Rowan has now taken over that title.” Laura responded with a smirk and I couldn’t help but laugh nervously.

“What? The Alpha..do tell.” Lottie inquired while wiggling her eyebrows.

“Well let’s just say he found his mate and decided to keep her as a hostage most of the time…I’m surprised he let her come down here today.” Laura added looking at me with sympathetic eyes. Even Greta nodded her head in agreement as she carried a tray of cookies toward the oven.

“He is very possessive of her. I don’t remember Vincent being that bad, do you Patty?” Greta quipped and I felt slightly awkward because I knew Rowan was possessive but I loved him..and it kind of turned me on to be honest… I better not think of that right now though or it might get me in trouble. As if he could read my thoughts, Rowan’s deep velvety voice filled my head, causing my heart to jump.

‘You okay baby? We are about to go into the meeting.’

Like clockwork, Rowan quickly linked, his voice causing my stomach to flip as a soft smile crept onto my face.

‘Yeah, just cutting up some potatoes, living on the edge..you know.’

I joked, sending him a soft laugh.

‘Don’t cut yourself..maybe Greta has some gloves you can wear.’

His voice was filled with worry. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at his ridiculous suggestion.

‘Im fine, now go back to work..love you.’

I said quickly, trying to focus on the task infront of me before I really did cut myself. Having his voice in my head was definitely not helping.novelbin

‘I love you too my Mila…I miss you.’

He sounded sad…I couldn’t help but feel that same emptiness. I was just trying not to think about it. Then I know I wouldn’t be able to last all day without him. These past two hours have been hard enough.

“Please tell me you aren’t going to wear the gloves..” Greta frowned, concern filling her expression.

“He linked you that? Oh my goddess..” I gasped and everyone looked at each other and started laughing. I guess I could see how it might seem pretty overly protective from an outsider’s perspective.

“Okay, I guess he is bad.” Lottie admitted and Laura just nodded her head in agreement.

“See I told you.” She pointed at me, making my cheeks warm as I just shrugged my shoulders, not denying it one bit. He was my Alpha though and I wouldn’t change a single thing about him.

“He is just worried since we haven’t found William yet. I know it makes it hard for him and he tries to watch over me anyway he can.” I defended him, looking down at my cutting board. My chest tightening from even mentioning that man’s name.

“Yeah, I heard. Any more news other than him being spotted with the rogues on the east side?” Patty asked us and I shook my head no.

We had been searching for William for weeks. There was a band of rogues spotted and a wolf that resembled Lucius but other than that there had been no other sighting. Tristan thinks he is working with the rogues and hiding out within their camps. Luckily they have a couple of unbiased rogues that they required as allies. So they are keeping watch for any new developments.

“They will catch him, darling..all of the packs have been notified..it will happen soon.” Laura whispered, squeezing my shoulder as she comforted me.

“Well, I am just grateful to be here now. I can never thank you all enough for welcoming me and making Black Stone feel like my home. Truly…I feel like I have finally found where I was always meant to be. With my new friends and family.” I admitted softly, speaking from my heart and suddenly Laura began to cry. Her arms wrapped around me as the other women joined in surprisingly. Even Rose and Patty were teary-eyed. Lottie just rolled her eyes and shook her head, smirking at us.

Priya walked into the kitchen carrying a clean tray and frowned.

“What did I miss?” She asked, making us all chuckle.

“Oh, just Mila melting all of our hearts.” Genevieve laughed, working on a station filled with sandwich fixings as she looked back over her shoulder towards us.

“Enough of the mushy stuff. Let’s talk about the men now..that always gets us fired up.” Laura said, wiping a tear from my cheeks as I nodded.

“Priya, have you found your mate yet?” Laura inquired curiously and I noticed Rose glare at her and shake her head. Laura just shrugged her shoulders sheepishly and continued making a sauce for tonight’s dinner.

“Always straight to the point with this one.” Greta chimed, patting Priya’s shoulder sympathetically as she took the tray.

“No, I just got out of university and I’m in no rush to find one. I’m not even sure if I want a mate.” She said shrugging her shoulders and Lottie nodded in agreement.

“I hear you there..why do we have to even subject ourselves to this barbaric tradition anyways…no offense” Lottie added, giving me a sheepish grin and I smiled at her softly. Patty didn’t look too happy about it though.

“It’s not barbaric, it’s fate. The moon goddess created a person to fit you perfectly. I mean look at Mila and Rowan. Can’t you see how deeply in love they are?” Patty added, looking at her daughter desperately.

“And I’m happy for Mila and Rowan, but it just might not be the best path for me.” She shrugged, ending the conversation as Gabrielle finished plating the sandwiches.

“Okay, all finished Greta.” She said quickly while wiping her hands on a towel. Greta looked them over, nodding in approval and went to grab them.

“Is that the lunch for the meeting upstairs?” I asked Greta and she nodded, glancing over towards me.

“Can I take it?” I really wanted to see Rowan, I missed him so much and it’s only been a few hours.

“Oh, are you sure dear? You don’t have to do that.” Greta asked with wide eyes just as a couple of kitchen staff walked in and were about to do it for her.

“Please, it will give me an excuse to visit the Alpha too.” I added while looking away, my cheeks turning pink as she couldn’t help but smile.

“Well, how can I say no to that then.” She smiled brightly and handed me the large tray.

“Be back in a little.” I hollered over my shoulder and heard Lottie and Patty still arguing over fate and mates..maybe that was another reason why I wanted to leave the kitchen…I wasn’t used to that type of confrontation. Suddenly Ian stepped out of the hallway startling me as I shrieked and almost dropped the tray.

“Ian, you scared me.” I gasped, causing him to laugh as he began walking next to me.

“Would you like me to carry that for you Luna?” He glanced down at the tray quickly, offering to help. I knew he was assigned to follow me wherever I went and I didn’t mind his company. He was a pretty nice guy who has actually become one of my friends now.

I noticed last week he took a few days off because he wasn’t feeling well but I guess he is doing a lot better now.

“I got it, all that training is paying off now.” I said with a smile as I walked towards the elevator.

“You are looking a lot more toned, I do see something there.” He said, poking my arm teasingly.

I laughed, flexing as he gasped over dramatically, acting like he was beyond impressed.

“Well, I’m not quite there yet but I can hold a tray with thirty sandwiches, that says something right?” I frowned and he nodded his head.

“Of course Luna, it has to count for something. We should look up what the world record is..you might have beaten it.” He teased with the cheesiest smile.

“I don’t know if I want to be known as the girl who can hold the most sandwiches.” I laughed and watched as Ian pressed the button to go up.

“Would you like one by the way? They made extra because you know how much they can eat.” I added while stepping into the elevator.

“Sure, thanks. Have you eaten yet Luna?” Ian was really good at checking how I was doing or feeling. He always reminds Rowan when we should eat or sends Greta a link to make us some food.

“I had a big breakfast, we have been snacking in the kitchen too. I graduated into an official taste tester now.” I smirked and Ian laughed.

“Oh, that’s the job Greta gives to her grandkids too.” Ian said with a smirk and I went to h*p-bump him but the elevator door opened before I could and he swiftly walked forward, smirking over his shoulder at me.

“Smart a*s.” I grumbled and he couldn’t help but laugh.

I walked up to the conference room, hearing the sound of soft chatter behind the door and knocked softly. Rowan instantly came over to me, worry etched on his face as he looked me up and down, searching for some type of injury or something. Did he really believe I would cut my finger off or something? It was hard not to laugh.

He quickly tried to pry the tray out of my hands and I glared at him. I wanted to do this to show that I was helping in some way. Even though it’s only sandwiches..it’s a start though right?

After passing them out and greeting everyonr, I met Rose’s Mate, Alpha Nathan. Something about him felt familiar, but he shook my hand and looked at me in a weird way. Rowan must have noticed too because he let out a low possessive growl, not liking the attention I was receiving. What really pushed him over the edge was when the other guy, Harry, shook my hand and stared at me intently. Rowan was ready to pounce.

‘Baby, it’s okay, remember whose mark I’m wearing..whose scent I’m wearing.’

I quickly linked him, my touch and voice calming him instantly as I let go of the guys hand and went to Rowan, kissing him gently.

I said my goodbyes to everyone, leaving them to finish their lunch and Rowan followed me out.

“Please next time let me help you.” He whispered against my lips, his mouth inching closer to mine as he finally closed the distance, kissing me deeply while Ian stood to the side waiting patiently.

“I just didn’t want to distract you…but I needed to see you. I missed you.” I grumbled as I pulled away slightly. Inhaling his cherry and Cedar scent that warmed me to my core. Satisfying that need to see him, giving me a little bit more strength to be away from him for a while longer.

“F**k I missed you so much. I just want to take you to our bed and stay there all day.” His words tickled my skin as he dragged his lips down to my neck.

His hands gripped my back as I pressed my body against him, feeling his hard d**k, wow did he drive me insane..maybe this wasn’t the best idea. Now I wanted him more than ever. He quickly gasped, his h**s pressing into my waist as I looked up at him. I needed to get control of this situation or else I knew exactly how it would end.

“You will have me all night Mr. Scott. That I can promise you.” I used his last name, realizing my mistake too late as I could see Bain trying to fight his way out. He pressed himself into me harder, a low hungry growl leaving him as his eyes flashed black.

“Patience baby…I love you. You better get back in there.” I kissed him once more, my fingers intertwined with his as I pulled away.

“You better be ready to not get any sleep tonight.” He growled and smacked my butt, causing me to jump slightly and yelp.

“I’m looking forward to it mate.” A growl escaped me…Calypso showing herself as I too was now getting frisky. Rowan’s eyes widened and I cleared my throat quickly, embarrassment filling me as I turned on my heel and practically ran for the elevator. I had never done that before..what was wrong with me?

‘I want our mate.’

Calypso whined, pacing in my mind as I mentally scolded her. It’s only been two hours..

Rowan just stood there, flabbergasted as he watched me slip into the elevator and leave. I swear I saw him try to run for me just as the doors closed. My growl finally registering as Ian looked at me with a smug look on his face.

“Don’t say a word.” I barked quickly, knowing he heard it too and he held his hands up in surrender.

‘You better growl like that for me tonight..’

Rowan linked, a low possessive growl in his voice.

‘I guess the withdrawals are setting in. I’m not used to going this long without having you.’

I teased in our link, waiting for his response but he quickly closed the link and I thought it was odd. Suddenly I felt a tightness in my chest and then a shocked feeling..weird. I shook it off and went into the kitchen ready to help out Greta once more.
