The CEO's Return (Tracy and Alex)

Chapter Eight

Chapter Eight

Tracy

My eyes were swollen, I felt really tired, I felt like taking their place, I felt like I should be there instead

of them, my children are my life and if anything happens to them I might die, thankfully they are out of

danger now.

I've been in the hospital with my children for the past three days, they eventually woke up yesterday

and I'm thankful, it cost me a lot of money but I don't care as far as my children are fine.

"Go home and change, I'd stay with them." My mum said and I shook my head, there is no way I'm

leaving my children now.

"Listen to your mother now darling, we are here and they are asleep, you can go home real quick and

come back before they wake up." My dad said placing his hand on my shoulder.

"No, I'm not leaving my children," I said without bulging

"Then we would help you get your clothes." My mum said and I nodded.

They left and the doctor came in with the nurses a few minutes after they left, he checked the children

and wrote the progress down.

"Mrs. Johnson.."

"Miss Jones please." I correct and he gave me a weird look, why won't he?, Who breaks down in the

doctor's office because he asked of the children's father and now I'm telling him not to call me my

husband's surname.

"Miss Jones, the twins are doing fine, thankfully the head injury they sustained is not critical and they

can be discharged a week from now, I would keep checking on them."

"Thank you, sir," I said as they left.

I sat down on the chair and watched my children, my superheroes, sincerely when I sat down and

thought about it, it felt like a movie, I wondered why on God's green earth both of my children would fall

and hurt their heads, but then I'm thankful they are alive, I also believe that everything was going to be

fine.

A week later my children were ready to be discharged, they were awake and playing already, people

from their school brought so many gifts that I had to beg my parents to help me put them in their car so

that we can take them home.

"Miss Jones, don't let them resume school too soon, let them stay at home for a week at least, they

might complain about a headache, you should expect it but don't worry, you'd get some drugs at the

pharmacy downstairs, this is the prescriptions, give it to them and they'd be fine, let them come for a

monthly check-up too."

"Thank you, doctor," I said collecting the prescriptions and the drug lists from the doctor

"What do you say?" I asked turning to face my children.

"Thank you, Doctor Bernard." They chorused

"You are welcome."

"Let's get going kids, your grandparents are waiting downstairs," I said leading them to the parking lot,

trust me I made sure they were extra careful on the stairs, I got the drugs from the pharmacy and I

drove us home while my parents followed us behind with their gift-filled car.

We got home a few minutes past twelve, surprisingly my brothers and their families were already

waiting for us, they helped us arrange everything and they also assisted me in settling the children, my

parents left after helping us get settled. NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.

The children and their children were in the sitting while myself and their parents were in the kitchen, we

were preparing lunch when Lewis my eldest brother placed a white envelope before me.

"What is this?" I asked confused

"Look here, We know how much you want us to understand that you can take care of yourself and your

children, but we know these past days day have been a little bit hard on you, we decided to assist you

the way we can, you are not allowed to refuse this, this is not a charity," Cole said and I couldn't keep

the tears from falling.

Their wives Rebecca and Tiana hugged me and I couldn't be more thankful for the family I have, yes

they might be a little bit extra but then they care about me and that is all that matters.

"Thank you guys, I appreciate this, God bless you."

"You are welcome!" They chorused and I chuckled, we finished preparing lunch and we all ate. By 2 pm

people started visiting, people from the neighborhood, people from the church, and even people from

the sprinklers!

By 4 pm I was already exhausted, I'm sure the children are exhausted too but they still had enough

energy to play, my brothers and their families left after making me promise to bring the twins over.

When I thought I was going to rest, Martin called and I picked reluctantly.

"Hello?"

"Tracy? Bring the kids outside."

"Why?"

"Bring them outside I have a gift for them." He replied, he sounded excited so I saw no harm.

I took the kids downstairs and behold Martin was there with two bicycles for the kids, they couldn't

stand still, the joy was visible on their faces.

"Oh Martin, thank you very much," I said giving him a light hug and a kiss on the cheek

"You are welcome, do you like it, kids?" He asked

"Yes, uncle Martin!" They chorused

"Very well, get well soon so that you can ride them."

"Thank you, Uncle Martin."

He helped us carry them inside while I led the kids inside.

He played with them for a while and when he was ready to leave he faced me

"Tracy."

"Yes?" I answered checking my kids and I was thankful that they were still admiring their bicycles.

"I've thought about it and I've realized that I can't force you to do what you don't want to do, it's okay, I

don't want you to feel bad and I'd like it very much if you call me whenever you need anything." He said

and my respect for him rose.

"Thank you."

"I'm leaving, Bye kids." He said and the kids said their goodbyes, I saw him off to the door before going

back inside to start preparing dinner.
