The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet

Chapter 2037

It was indeed a rare gem when two people, driven by love, hurried into marriage. The clerk, processing their marriage license, hoped every couple she assisted would find everlasting happiness. Seeing their eagerness, why make them wait any longer?

Alaric, upon seeing the clerk's approval, must have thanked her a dozen times over. Hertha couldn't help but smile, seeing Alaric's boyish, goofy grin. From filling out the forms to taking photos, and finally receiving their marriage certificate, the whole process took just ten minutes.

When Alaric held the freshly printed certificate, still warm from the printer, it felt almost sacred in his hands. He was married. He was truly married to Hertha! Never in his thirty-something years had he felt this elated, this blissful. After admiring the certificate for a moment, Alaric carefully tucked it into his pocket. Overwhelmed with joy, he couldn't resist cupping Hertha's face, puckering her lips into a kiss.

"Hey, wifey, what do you fancy for lunch?" he asked, still buzzing from the excitement.

Hertha, taken aback by the sudden kiss but understanding his exhilaration, turned to the clerk and said, "Shouldn't we be asking our guest what she'd like to eat? We were going to treat this lovely lady to lunch, weren't we?"

Realizing his oversight, Alaric quickly said to the clerk, "What would you like to eat? It's all up to your taste."

He had promised her a meal for helping them out with the marriage certificate and nearly forgot in his excitement. The clerk, smiling, responded, "No need, I'll be heading home for lunch. You've just got married; I wouldn't want to third-wheel."

With that, she packed up her things

and left. Alaric and Hertha didn't

insist further. They shared a look, eyes twinkling with shared sweetness. "C'mon, what do you wanna eat? Think carefully, this is our first meal as a married couple," Alaric said, his voice dripping with affection.

Before, they were just friends, no matter how many meals they shared. But now, with that certificate in hand, every meal was a family meal. Hertha's eyes widened in realization, "Oh, that's right, we're married now. And we didn't sign a prenup, so your vast fortune is half mine now, isn't it?" Alaric playfully flicked her nose, "I'm all yours, and so is everything else."

Hertha giggled, her laughter resembling the tinkling of bells, "You're really not guarding yourself at all, and you're Alaric, you know."Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.

"I'm Alaric, but not just any Alaric.

When we get home, I'll hand over all my bank cards to you. Let's go have lunch," he said, intertwining his fingers with hers as they left the registry office. With the marriage certificate in his pocket, it was like a charm, ensuring he'd never lose Hertha.

After lunch, Alaric insisted on taking Hertha to his place first. True to his word, he presented her with all his bank eards. "This is everything to my name now, take good care of it," Alaric said.
