Chapter 194
Chapter 194
Ivy had stated numerous times that she no longer liked Wyatt Reed, but no one believed her. Did they all think she was having a temper tantrum with Wyatt? Ivy laughed just as Marco thought she wouldn’t answer his question. She appeared bright, arrogant, and self-assured. There was a spark of attraction and passion. “If you like someone for life, do you really not intend to remarry after your wife dies?” Her question was just as bold and direct as his, but Ivy couldn’t think of a more gentle way to express herself. When she heard such a question, all she wanted to do was a curse. For a brief moment, Marco remained motionless. He was taken aback by her reaction. He wasn’t even irritated or offended. Instead, he chuckled. He replied with a gentle smile, “Understood.” Marco was not required to respond because they both knew the answer. Something vaguely sprouted in Marco’s heart at that moment. He did not remarry because he was unable to find the right person. He didn’t have to settle, and he didn’t need a marriage alliance because of his status. Jimmy was following close behind them. He was on the verge of passing away from anxiety. He heard Ivy’s response but did not understand it. ‘What in the world does that mean?! Why is Ms. Morgan inquiring about Mr. Seely’s plans to remarry? Maybe she’s making fun of him because he’s a widower. Is she advising him to avoid her? Does this imply that she likes Mr. Reed but is too shy to say so? That’s got to be it!’ Jimmy pondered. Inside the chateau. Wyatt’s health improved. The butlers and maids looked after him and would not let him down. He rested his chin on the leather cushion. He looked at Ken’s email on his laptop; he was pale. His phone continued to ring. He cast a glance around and saw that it was Duke. He averted his gaze and pretended not to notice. Duke, on the other hand, was unyielding. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
Wyatt became irritated and slammed his laptop shut. As he picked up the phone, he had a glum expression. “Speak,” he said, low, cold, and restrained. It’d better be something significant. He wouldn’t let Duke off the hook if he didn’t! Duke froze for a split second, unable to hide the urgency and tension in his voice. “What are you up to? Did you accompany Ivy to France?” “Yeah, I’m hanging up if it’s nothing important,” Wyatt said. “Hmph! You didn’t accompany me to the Island, but you went on a trip with Ivy?! How could you abandon your friends for love?” Duke screamed. “But… Why did Marco Seely join you? I’m not sure what’s up with you three and your strange relationship.” Wyatt’s hand, which was about to press the end call button, halted. His face instantly froze. “How do you know that?” Nobody was aware of their plans. Marco, on the other hand, would never reveal his itinerary. “Everyone is aware! Ivy shared a photo of herself and Marco. Didn’t you see it?” Duke took a brief pause. His voice gradually became quieter. “I forgot... She blocked you, didn’t she?” Wyatt’s expression was solemn. “Which photograph?” Duke pursed his lips and sensed Wyatt’s mood over the phone was off, so he didn’t dare to gloat at him. “Uh… It’s just the two of them in the picture. It appeared to be some official announcement. Everyone is wondering if they’re dating.” Duke’s voice became huskier with each word because he could feel a chill even over the phone. “Send me the picture,” Wyatt said, clenching his fists. “Okay…” Wyatt hung on him before he could finish his sentence. Wyatt’s phone received the photo. His face darkened instantly when he saw it. His entire demeanor was tinged with gloom. The two people in the photo stood out even in the drizzle. They looked at each other as if they knew what the other was thinking. Their gazes converged. Their eyes were filled with familiarity and remorse for not meeting sooner. ‘How did they become so acquainted with each other?’
Wyatt’s face was tense and unappealing. After a long time, he dialed Jimmy’s number. “Are you calling because you miss Ms. Morgan, Mr. Reed? She is fine. She also mentioned how much she misses you!” There was a brief moment of silence. Something didn’t feel right to Jimmy. Wyatt finally spoke up, his voice icy. “Jimmy, you dare to deceive me?! Would you like to drown in the Seine?” “W-What’s the matter, Mr. Reed? What exactly did I do?” Jimmy burst into tears. ‘Did he find out already that Ms. Morgan’s professor is a man and that she met with Mr. Seely?’ “Huh…” Wyatt sneered and didn’t say anything else. This was the final word. Jimmy clenched his teeth. “Even though there was a minor incident, everything is still under our control! That perfume-loving male professor must be gay!” Wyatt’s eyes darkened. ‘Huh… Yet another unexpected twist?’ “I only found out later that her professor is a man, but this guy can’t compare to you, and they didn’t even make eye contact!” Jimmy rushed to explain this fact. Wyatt’s voice was chilling, clear, deep, and lethal. “How about the other one?” He did, after all, know! Jimmy closed his eyes and stared at the two people in front of him. They were an incredibly compatible couple. It’s no surprise that Bill thought it was a good shot. However, if Wyatt replaced Marco, this would look even better! “Mr. Seely... It was purely coincidental, but don’t worry, Mr. Reed! I’ve been keeping an eye on Ms. Morgan. She mentioned Mr. Seely’s late wife, so things must be strained between them.” Jimmy shared his thoughts and explanations for Ivy and Marco’s interactions. Wyatt eventually calmed down, but he was a little impatient by the end. “All right, look after Ms. Morgan.” “Don’t be concerned!”
“Please return sooner.” Wyatt got off the phone. His mind was still racing. He went to Ivy’s social media page. It was completely blank. He was not barred from accessing certain websites; instead, he was restricted from doing so. As a result, he missed her post. His chest was clogged and painful. Ivy looked at the time and decided that it was still too early to meet with her classmates, so she planned to buy them some gifts. She walked out of the intersection, stopped at the traffic light, and turned to face Marco. “If you have other things to do, Mr. Seely, please go ahead first.” Marco smirked. “Are you sure you’re not going back to the chateau?” “This evening, I will buy some gifts for my class reunion.” Marco nodded in agreement. “I also have a client to see, so I’ll leave.” They both bid each other a polite farewell. Jimmy rushed up to Ivy as soon as Marco left. He held an umbrella over Ivy’s head and propped it up. “We can’t let your hair get messed up, Ms. Morgan, because you’re so beautiful and delicate.” “What are we going to do next?” Ivy glanced at Jimmy before walking away without saying anything. She didn’t need a map because she was very familiar with the area. She immediately went to the shopping mall. Jimmy was ecstatic because this was an excellent opportunity to demonstrate his abilities! Jimmy planned the types of gifts Ivy should buy along the way. Ivy was initially irritated and later reluctantly acknowledged Jimmy. She thought Jimmy should have gone into sales because he would have made a lot of money there. Bill carried a plethora of items behind them with a cold and fierce aura. Jimmy did not ignore him and turned around. “Bill, hurry up! It’s only a couple of bags. What’s the cause of your exhaustion?”
