Naturally, Alex knew that Garett must have run into some kind of trouble. Patiently, he questioned, “Is something troubling you, Mr. Greaves? Feel free to let me know if that is the case!”

Garett let out a sigh as he said regretfully, “I knew you were a capable individual the moment you helped my family out, Mr. Jefferson. While I am not sure if you are able to help us resolve this crisis, I have been left with no other option. You are the only person I could think of to seek help from.”

While Alex had no idea what the crisis was, he could tell from Garett’s tone that the latter was unable to resolve it on his own.

“Please tell me what’s going on, Mr. Greaves. I might just be able to help you out with that crisis,” Alex said.

Realizing that he was probably dawdling a little too much, Garett decided to tell Alex everything that had happened.

Apparently, a group of powerful individuals had appeared in Lumenopolis all of a sudden. Each of them was able to take on multiple opponents at once. Some of them were so powerful that one could easily mistake them for a fictional character from a superhero movie.

They had taken over the prominent families in Lumenopolis and their businesses, forcing the latter to become their slaves.

Garett’s son had a huge business in Lumenopolis, and their family was regarded as one of the most powerful ones in the city, so it was only natural that those individuals targeted the Greaves family as well.

Those men had Tobias transfer all of his businesses over to them and forced him to obey their every command.

As Tobias had spent his entire life building those businesses up, he refused to just hand them over to someone else.

He had ordered the Greaves family’s security guards and housekeepers to kick those people out, but they were unable to even put up a fight.

Tobias wasn’t spared from the brutality either. Those men beat him up until he was severely injured and forcefully made him sign the transfer agreements.

The Greaves family was forced to choose between working for those men or completely losing everything.

Having run out of options, Garett decided to give Alexa call and see if he could help solve the problem.
