Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 319 Almost Caught by Jesse

Willette felt a suffocating pain and her face turned red as she tried to pry off Barclay’s hand. But she couldn’t muster enough strength, and Barclay was too strong. She felt like she was dying, and her vision was blur while her ears could barely hear anything.

“Help… Help…” she struggled to say.

“Cough, cough, cough…”

Barclay let go of her, and she fell to the ground coughing and gasping for air. The feeling of being on the brink of death terrified her.

“I’ll ask you again. Whose child is in your belly?” Barclay squatted down to meet her gaze, his cold eyes making her shiver.

Willette’s throat was sore, and she swallowed a mouthful of saliva before answering, “It’s yours, yours.”

She couldn’t say it was Jasper’s, otherwise she felt Barclay would kill her! Plus, she thought the child was more likely to be Barclay’s, given they had been together more frequently than her and Jasper.

“Is that so? Don’t lie to me. If I find out later that the child isn’t mine, you should know the consequences.” Barclay touched Willette’s face, speaking in a soft tone that felt heavy to her heart, making her dizzy.

The current Barclay felt strange to her, as if she was meeting him for the first time. The old Barclay wouldn’t hit her. But just now, he had slapped her twice and tried to strangle her, which made her panic.

Willette’s situation quickly became a hot topic on Twitter. With so many guests present, someone must have filmed it with their phone and posted it on their social media account.

In no time, everyone knew about it.

This was the second time that Willette had received so much attention, the first being when she locked Nydia in her house, and Jesse came knocking.

At Pascall’s Villa.

Nydia was scrolling through her social media account when she saw many posts about Willette’s wedding. After a while, she lost interest and stopped.

Jasper was a godsend. After Barclay dealt with him, the Ruiz family and the Evans family would become enemies. This would inevitably lead to more enemies for the Evans family.

“Tavish, why did you suddenly bring up Jasper today?” Nydia found it strange that Tavish, who hadn’t seen Jasper in so long and only met him once, would suddenly bring him up.

“Oh, isn’t Willette getting married? I remembered Jasper I saw at the resort last time. I don’t understand if Willette likes Barclay or Jasper,” Tavish looked puzzled.

Nydia thought she was overthinking it. Tavish was just a child who wasn’t even five yet.

“Mommy, what’s wrong?”

“It’s okay.” She smiled and touched Tavish’s head.

“Mommy, what was your and Daddy’s wedding like? Molly and I haven’t seen it,” Tavish asked.

Nydia froze. This… she was almost scowling the whole time and didn’t want the two children to see it.

Tavish remembered the situation and immediately had an idea, “Mommy, how about you and Daddy have another wedding? Then Molly and I can participate.”

Nydia’s heart was stabbed at the thought. How was she going to tell Tavish about the divorce, and Jesse asked Tavish to stay.

Less than three months left.

“We have to ask your Daddy about this,” Nydia felt that what she said wasn’t entirely untrue, as it was about Jesse.

Tavish nodded and didn’t continue the topic.

After the two children went to bed, Nydia was thinking about how to treat Jesse’s illness tonight. It wouldn’t be so easy if they didn’t sleep together tonight.

She suddenly had a headache.

“Missus, the master is calling you to the study.”

Nydia went to the study to find Jesse.

“What’s the matter?”

“Did you do what happened today?” Jesse asked.

“No, I thought it was you,” Nydia was surprised. She really thought it was Jesse who did it.

Jesse’s fingers lightly tapped on the table.

“Whose child is Willette carrying?” His voice sounded somewhat indifferent.

“I’m not sure, but I think even Willette herself doesn’t know if it’s Jasper’s or Barclay’s. If it’s Jasper’s, she’ll definitely abort it. If it’s Barclay’s, then she doesn’t have to worry so much,” Nydia said honestly.

“How many people know about Willette’s pregnancy?”C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

Nydia couldn’t quite figure out Jesse’s plan, but she answered truthfully.

“Cade and his wife, as well as me. She went to the hospital for an examination the next day. I don’t know who else knows.”

Jesse nodded.

“What did you mean by heavy rain last time?”

At this question, Nydia’s mind flashed back to Jesse’s previous words: heavy rain, danger, don’t go to work, I’ll give you money.

That two million, she hadn’t touched it yet.

“It means there will be continuous heavy rain, which may cause serious flooding.”

“How do you know?”

Nydia smiled, “Why do you care how I know? But you wouldn’t believe me anyway. Is there anything else? If not, I’ll go first.”

She knew that by saying this, Jesse would actually believe her.

But she had said what she needed to say, and whether he believed her or not, she no longer cared.

“Go out,” Jesse said.

Nydia thought that Jesse seemed a bit… conflicted at the moment. He wasn’t as cold as he had been before, but he still seemed distant.

After she walked out, she wondered if Jesse had asked her about those two days. Did he completely forget or did he remember something?

Jesse pinched his brow. His memory stopped at flipping a table full of food, but he couldn’t remember anything that happened afterward. The next thing he remembered was waking up in bed with Nydia. What happened in between?

He knew that he couldn’t ask Nydia about it.

The phone rang.

“Sir, we have taught Jasper a lesson as you instructed.”

“Has there been any movement on Barclay’s side?”

“Barclay has taken Willette back to their wedding room, and there hasn’t been any movement since.”

“Okay, keep an eye on them.”

Jesse was about to hang up when he remembered the heavy rain that was expected.

“Have the staff check the warehouse in the next few days. Don’t store anything that is sensitive to water in the lower part of the warehouse. Make sure to make some emergency plans for next week’s heavy rain.”

Vergil was a bit surprised. Why did Jesse suddenly make this decision? But he didn’t ask and agreed to arrange everything tomorrow.

There was a knock on the study door again.

“Come in.”

Nydia came back.

Jesse raised an eyebrow and looked at her.

“Remember to take your medicine,” Nydia said.

“What medicine?” Jesse frowned.

“Yesterday, I took you to see a doctor. The doctor said your problem is quite serious, and you need to take medicine on time.” Nydia’s expression was indifferent, as if she was advising a regular friend, and there was no obvious concern in her eyes.

“If you’re curious about what happened in the past two days, I can tell you,” Nydia said kindly.

“Get out.”

“…”

Nydia rolled her eyes and left. At least she had reminded him. If he refused to listen, then it was his own problem.

Truth be told, Jesse was more adorable when he was clingy.

Nydia set her alarm clock for 2 a. m. again. When it went off, she entered through the window as she had before, but found that Jesse wasn’t in bed.

Damn it! Did Jesse not come back to his room to sleep?

Suddenly, there was a sound at the door, and Nydia panicked. What should she do if Jesse caught her? She looked under the bed, made a quick decision, and crawled under it.

At that moment, the door opened.
