Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 272

As Nydia approached him, Jesse’s body trembled and he unconsciously moved to the side.

“You can sleep over there.”

“Am I a demon? Are you that afraid of me?” Nydia said with a wry smile.

“You’re an elf! Scarier than a demon.”

Nydia chuckled lightly.

“Okay, can I sleep here on the side, Mr. Stiff?”

Yes, Jesse stiffened again.

Nydia fell asleep quickly, but Jesse couldn’t sleep. With someone sleeping next to him, he couldn’t toss and turn and could only try to maintain one position. Various images flooded his mind, and he tried to calm himself down, but soon he thought of them again. It was driving him crazy, and he felt like he was going to break down if he continued like this.

He didn’t know how long it took, but Jesse finally fell asleep.

He was woken up in the morning by Molly.

“Good morning, Mr. Stiff.”

“…” She’s mocking me!

He had to get his leg treated or he would suffer like this again in the future!

They had lunch on the resort side before returning home. On the way back, Molly said they should go on family trips more often.

“Mommy, Daddy, no matter how busy you are in the future, you have to come out and play with me and Tavish. It’s your responsibility!”

“Okay, we know,” Nydia promised. She had already planned to make it up to Molly and Tavish, so she didn’t see any problem with it. Jesse also didn’t see any problem, except that he couldn’t let Nydia tease him like that again next time. It was too uncomfortable!

The dinner at home was cooked by two chefs, but before they could eat, an unexpected guest arrived.

“Sorry to drop by all of a sudden and disturb you,” Sara said with a smile to Nydia and Jesse.

“If you know you’re disturbing us, then why did you come?” Nydia retorted without hesitation. Sara didn’t expect Nydia’s hostility towards her to be so obvious.

“I’m Jesse’s doctor, and I have an obligation to know about his condition,” Sara said in a calm, cold voice.

“If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you were his homeroom teacher, always making home visits,” Nydia replied with a smirk.

“Please don’t speak in such a passive-aggressive tone!” Sara felt that Nydia was being unreasonable and speaking in a strange tone.

Nydia smiled, “This is just my way of speaking. Sorry to have bothered you.”

At that moment, it was time for dinner at the Pascall Villa.

“I’m guessing you came at this time, Dr. Duncan, to have dinner at our house?” Nydia asked.

“Yes, I’ve heard that the Pascall Villa’s chef makes delicious food, and I wanted to try it tonight,” Sara replied without reservation. Since Nydia was being impolite, Sara saw no reason to be polite.

The chef was taken aback by their praise, “No, no, I don’t dare to take such compliments!”

Jesse had remained silent throughout the exchange, showing no signs of embarrassment.

Everyone sat down at the dining table. Usually, Molly would be a bit rowdy during meals, but she was quiet today, either because she was tired from playing or because there were others present.

The atmosphere was slightly awkward. Sara ate with ease, following the motto of “if I’m not awkward, then it’s others who are!”

“Jesse, your family’s chef is really good,” Sara complimented, having eaten nearly half a bowl of rice. “I want to come over for meals from now on.”

Jesse’s eyebrows twitched slightly.

“If you like the food this much, you can take the chef with you,” he said. There was no need to come and eat.

“That’s not necessary. I don’t need to hire a chef for my family. I’ll just come over occasionally for meals,” Sara replied.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

Nydia couldn’t hold back any longer.
