Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 189

“That’s my condition. Take it or leave it.” Jesse leaned back on his chair with a casual posture, his eyes even indifferent, but he gave off a sense of oppression as if he were in a position of power.

“Do you have to go to extremes? It’s not good for both of our families!”

“A fish dies when it leaves the water, but the net may not break. Mr. Malone, think about it carefully. I have to go now.” He called Vergil in to see the guest out.

Cade really wanted to curse him out, to call him a cripple, but he held back. After all, he had seen his fair share of rough times, and losing control now would only lead to irreparable consequences.

Not long after, Vergil came back. “Boss, Mr. Malone has been sent off.”

“Good. Have someone keep an eye on him.”

Cade was a sly fox and had to be on guard. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be where he was today.

When he was young, he knew how to butter up the right people and that’s how he got to know Neil and Nydia’s father. After solving a few problems for Neil, he earned his trust and was given opportunities to grow his own company, and even turned around to bite Neil.

Cade returned to the company in a fit of rage, scolding everyone in sight. He thought for a moment and called Willette, “Tell Barclay to come over for dinner.”

It was a notification, not a request. Willette had to do it.

Barclay didn’t want to go when he received the call. He knew what he would be facing tonight, but he knew that he couldn’t turn his back on the Malone family just yet. The Malones and the Evans family still needed to ally themselves, so he had to go, but he didn’t have to be on time.

So when it was time for dinner, Cade found out that Barclay hadn’t arrived yet. “Where is he?”

“He’s on his way, there was traffic,” Willette noticed her father’s bad mood.

“Dad, did you go to Pascall Group to talk to Jesse today? How did it go?”

“That bastard, just mentioning him gets me so angry,” Cade replied.C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

Willette was curious but didn’t dare to ask further.

Barclay arrived late, making Cade wait for nearly an hour.

“What took you so long? You caused an hour of traffic!” Cade cursed at him as soon as he arrived.

“There was an accident on the road, so I got stuck for a while,” Barclay apologized while hiding his displeasure.

“Is it because you don’t care about me? Why didn’t you set off earlier?” Cade was more irritated that he had to wait for Jesse for an hour and now Barclay too.

“Dad, calm down. Barclay has been very busy lately,”

Willette spoke for Barclay, which only made Cade angrier. “Why is he always busy, while others aren’t? Is he the richest man? He’s so busy!”

Barclay was filled with anger, his company was doing better and better, and he didn’t want to put up with Cade’s attitude anymore. Who was Cade to lecture him?

“You’re mad at Jesse but taking it out on me is unreasonable. I was stuck in traffic today, and you suddenly contacted me. Besides, I already had work to do.”

Willette wanted to tell Barclay to calm down, but she was stopped by his cold stare. If she lost Barclay’s support, she would have nothing.

“Dad, I think we need to solve the problem now and not have internal conflicts. Otherwise, it will only make Jesse even more pleased. He wants us to fight among ourselves. He’s angry at you to drive a wedge between us!” Willette didn’t want Barclay and Cade to argue.

“That’s right. We can’t let Jesse have his way. He’s powerful, but he’s still a cripple.” Barclay continued, “Besides, can’t he have another accident? Maybe his arms will be broken next time, and he’ll look like a freak.”

Cade’s mind stirred. “Do you have an idea?”
