Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 124

Vergil’s face changed drastically, and he immediately retorted, “Missus, you cannot speak without thinking. My loyalty to the boss is true!”

“I don’t know, but your actions are questionable!”

Vergil did not think he had done anything.

“Missus, don’t falsely accuse me. You are scheming, but now you are turning the tables!” Vergil was so angry that he confronted Nydia. He already had a big opinion of Nydia, and now she had provoked him to speak his mind.

Nydia smiled instead of getting angry and looked at Vergil with a scrutinizing gaze, making him feel uneasy.

Why did Missus change so much after nearly drowning? He didn’t know how to deal with her now.

“Vergil, you get angry so easily and even reveal your thoughts when provoked. That won’t do. You can’t keep secrets, so how can I trust you to stay with Jesse and be exposed to so many confidential matters?”

Vergil’s face first turned pale and then turned flushing, but he couldn’t even come up with a rebuttal. He was speechless.

“As Boss’ personal assistant, you should keep your emotions in check. Even I can tell that you are lying, so how can others not notice?” Nydia stared at him with a cold and imposing demeanor. Even Vergil, who had been around Jesse for a long time, felt uncomfortable with Nydia’s aura. It was evident how powerful she was at this moment.

He wanted to argue that he wasn’t normally like this, but at this point, any rebuttal was useless, and he could only admit defeat.

“What are you two arguing about?” Jesse had already come out of the bathroom, looking displeased.

But his wet, messy hair softened his coldness.

“We’re not arguing about anything. We just spoke loudly. I was just asking Vergil if you were eating and taking your medicine on time.”

Jesse glanced at her and then at Vergil.

“Is that so?”

“Yes, normally with Vergil taking care of you, I feel relieved.”

Vergil thought: “What? But you just said something else!”

“After washing up, have some porridge. You must have a weak stomach from your busy work. Drinking some porridge can nourish it,” said Nydia.

However, Jesse responded coldly, “Eating at this time will burden the stomach, which is not good.”

Despite being retorted, Nydia remained calm and seemed to have expected his temperament. “But it’s even worse to go hungry. Porridge won’t burden the stomach too much. Moreover, just eating a small bowl can warm the stomach and solve hunger without increasing the burden on the stomach. Isn’t that great?”

“I’m not hungry,” Jesse continued to refuse mercilessly.

Nydia smiled gently and tolerantly. “I just learnt from Vergil that you only ate a bit for dinner. According to your workload, that bit of food has already been digested, and you must be hungry now. If you insist on saying you’re not hungry, I can only understand it as you being angry with me.”

She leaned forward with both hands on the armrests of the wheelchair, “So, Mr. Pascall, are you angry with me?”

Jesse’s breathing stopped, and his back was tight against the backrest.

Her eyes were shining like mischievous stars, revealing an undisguised cunningness. “Mr. Pascall, what do you say?”

The last word escaped from her lips, with a hint of tenderness, making her red lips even more beautiful and tempting.

She was like a fairy tempting a scholar, captivating his heart with every move.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

Vergil’s scalp was numb, and his body was stiff. What should he do now? Should he leave, stand still, or pretend to cough?
