Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 100

Jesse went to work at the company after finishing breakfast. He planned to stay late tonight and even sleep in the office if necessary.

“Boss, I’ve compiled the information on the shops that your wife looked at before. These two look good, and I’ve looked into them. This one is willing to sell, but the price is a bit high,” the driver reported to Jesse.

Jesse looked at the two shops, and their locations were good, but he still needed to consider the surrounding area.

“Then buy this one. It’s larger in size. Ask if the whole building is for sale, and if they’re willing, buy the entire building.”

The driver was stunned. Buy the entire building? How much would that cost? The houses on this street are worth their weight in gold.

“I’ll go ask and give you an answer as soon as possible, Boss.”

In the afternoon, the driver came back to Jesse with an update. The landlord originally only wanted to sell the shops and not the second and third floors of the building, but the driver was willing to pay a higher price than market value for the entire building, and they became interested, but they still needed to consider it.

Jesse’s offered price was still very attractive, and they couldn’t understand why he wanted to buy it. They thought he was just showing off his wealth.

“Boss, take some cold medicine first,” Vergil said, noticing that Jesse wasn’t feeling well and was trying to tough it out.

After taking the medicine, Vergil suggested that he rest for half an hour to an hour, but Jesse felt it wasn’t necessary. It was just a cold.

As the end of the workday approached, Jesse’s head became increasingly heavy, his nose was blocked, his breathing was difficult, and his limbs were weak and sore.

“Boss, you should go home and rest,” Vergil said.

But Jesse thought about what his daughter Molly said and decided against going home. It was better for him to stay at the office tonight, and there were still many things to handle. Working overtime wouldn’t hurt.

Vergil knew his boss’s temperament well and knew he couldn’t persuade him. He could only accompany him on the side.

By 9 pm, Jesse felt worse. His eyes were dry and painful, his throat hurt every time he swallowed, and he couldn’t concentrate.

Having finished organizing the materials in his hands, he planned to take a break. However, someone knocked on the door of the office. Vergil and Jesse were both stunned, who would be knocking at this time?

“Madam?” Vergil went over to open the door and was stunned when he saw Nydia. Jesse heard the commotion and looked over, feeling even more dizzy.

“I came to see Mr. Jesse,” Nydia said with a smile as she walked in.

As soon as she entered, she saw Jesse looking sickly, listless, with slightly reddened eyes and a red, dry nose.

“Why haven’t you gone home if you’re already sick?” she asked softly.

“I still have some things to take care of,” he replied, but when he spoke, his voice was hoarse and nasal, lacking the usual low, cold tone, and instead was somewhat tender, which had a special charm.

“You’re like this, why are you still dealing with work? You can easily make mistakes when your mind is not clear,” Nydia scolded him.NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

Jesse looked up at her. Although he was sick, the oppressive force in his eyes remained.

“Why did you come here?” he meant to ask her to leave, but Nydia showed a distressed expression and sighed, “Your daughter asked me to come and watch over you, and told me to make you go home to rest and sleep, otherwise I will have to write a self-reflection letter.”

“Since you’re not leaving, I’ll take care of you here.” Nydia sat down by the sofa, propping her chin on the armrest with one hand, looking resolute as she gazed at Jesse.

Jesse had originally planned to avoid Nydia’s care and hide in the office instead of going home, but now that Nydia had come directly, he was stuck in a dilemma.

“Unfortunately, there is no kitchen here. Otherwise, I could make you some food.” Nydia completely ignored Jesse’s wrinkled brows and impatience, speaking in a frank manner with a smile on her face, which added a splash of color to the dull and serious office.

“Go back.” Jesse drove his wheelchair out from behind his desk.

Vergil handed him a coat.

“I’ll do it.” Nydia took the coat and propped it up for Jesse to put on. Jesse calmly put his hands inside the coat and put it on.

Nydia adjusted his clothes and collar, her fingers brushing against his neck, causing his Adam’s apple to roll.
