Chapter 74: What Kind of Life She Is Living
Qin Xiaobai hesitated for a while in front of the door of Qin Muxuan’s room and then put his hand down. Mrs. Gu saw him on the corridor and then said with a gentle smile,
“Xiaobai, why are you standing there? I’ve already made porridge for you, come downstairs and have some now.”
Hearing Mrs. Gu’s voice, Qin Xiaobai came back to earth and said in a soft voice,
“Thank you, grandma.”
Mrs. Gu walked over and held Qin Xiaobai up gently. It had been a whole day since she saw his face, so she had been missing this little boy all the while. Now she felt rather happy when holding Qin Xiaobai in her arms. Qin Xiaobai leaned on Mrs. Gu’s shoulder tenderly and said,

“Of course I won’t, don’t worry.”

Qin Muxuan was lying on the ground unconsciously and the water from the shower nozzle was still spraying on her body. Gu Zijin felt a sharp pain in his eyes when seeing that. He took the bath towel to wrap Qin Muxuan up and lifted her up. After that, he walked downstairs quickly.
Seeing Gu Zijin walking down with Qin Muxuan in his arms, Mrs. Gu got shocked and said,
“Zijin, what happened? Muxuan…”
“Mother, I’ll send her to the hospital.”
While saying that, Gu Zijin walked even faster. Qin Muxuan, feeling coldness all over her body, couldn’t help but shiver. After Gu Zijin put Qin Muxuan on the back seat of the car, Qin Muxuan curled up right away.
As Gu Zijin stepped on the gas straightly, the Black Bentley headed to the road by the mountain at once.
In the hospital.
When Yin Youting was preparing to get off work, he saw a car parking in front of the hospital. After he noticed the car was the Black Bentley, the look in his eyes turned gloomy right away.
The nurse saw that Yin Youting still hadn’t left and reminded him,
“Doctor Yin, you don’t need to go on night shift today. You can go home and have a rest now.”
“Tell the doctor who’s on night duty tonight, I want to change shift with him.”
The nurse was a bit confused, not knowing why Yin Youting had made that decision, but she still nodded and agreed.
Qin Muxuan was carried into the hospital by Gu Zijin who was extremely anxious. After Yin Youting saw Qin Muxuan being wheeled into the emergency room with her face deadly pale, he was simmering with rage right away. Yin Youting listened to Gu Zijin exposing him with his face turning pale. It was true that he had taken those photos, but he never realized that the consequence would be so severe. Then he started to wonder if he really was the reason why Qin Muxuan had become like this.
Thinking of that, Yin Youting clenched his fists and said in a low voice,
“I’ll end all of this. Please tell Xuan that I’m sorry…”
“Huh, you don’t need to apologize to my woman.”
Gu Zijin stepped forward directly while saying in a chilling voice to the man behind him,
“What you and Qin Muxuan had is already the past. Also, you think the person who has been protected by a lion would come back to seek a dog’s protection?”
Yin Youting only felt as if his dignity had been trampled by Gu Zijin and couldn’t help but tremble. ‘One day, I’ll become powerful enough to protect Xuan. I can’t be so useless like this anymore.’ He thought.
Qin Muxuan fainted because she was startled and got a fever. When she was wheeled out from the emergency room, she was still taking a drip. Her long and curled eyelashes drooped and her little face was deadly pale right now. Gu Zijin sat by her bed while looking at her with tenderness in his eyes. Then he reached out his hand and held her hand.
Suddenly, Qin Muxuan’s cell phone started to vibrate. As Gu Zijin saw the name on the screen, he showed a sullen look in his eyes and picked up the phone. The feigned concerned voice of Yan Yuxiao came through over the line,
“Muxuan, how are you doing right now? Don’t worry, I’ve already explained to the public for you. Also, Zijin would guarantee your safety too. I heard from Elderly Lady Gu that you have received something scary. Are you frightened?”
Gu Zijin didn’t say anything. Then Yan Yuxiao sensed something wrong right away,
“Muxuan, Muxuan, are you there? Are you listening to me now?”
“It’s me.”
After Yan Yuxiao heard that cold voice, the look on her face turned stiff. Still, she said,
“Zijin… Why did you pick up Muxuan’s phone?”
“Do not contact her anymore.”
“Why?”
Gu Zijin compressed his lips with an indifferent look. Qin Muxuan might not know that lots of the people who had commented under those photos were paid posters who hired by one user who had connection with the Yan family, but Gu Zijin was well aware of that. Also, no one in City A would dare to send a threatening package to Gu family except for the ones who had an ulterior motive.
Although he didn’t know what Yan Yuxiao wanted to do, he still wouldn’t let Qin Muxuan be deceived by Yan Yuxiao anymore. Then he moved his thin lips and uttered the words,
“I’ll offer you better resources in exchange for that. Yan Yuxiao, know your place. I only haven’t exposed you until now because of my grandma, but don’t think you can do anything you want.”
Hearing that, Yan Yuxiao felt her heart chilled with disappointment while holding her cell phone tightly. ‘So… Zijin, you are always clear about everything. You have fully grasped the whole thing. But why do you always make mistakes on something that involves Qin Muxuan?’ Thinking of that, Yan Yuxiao felt overwhelmed by the resentment she had toward Qin Muxuan. Still, she agreed to Gu Zijin’s offer.
She had no reason to refuse better resources. That was a tacit understanding between her and Gu Zijin. What was more, she knew that Gu Zijin would do what he had said for sure.
