Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 456

"If every time Dr. Campbell called, I could just drop whatever I was doing and run to him, even if it was the middle of the night, to talk and hold him close, and if he ever had a spat with you, I'd take his side and blame you every time!"

Selena shot these words out in one breath, her eyes dripping with sarcasm as she stared at Everett, whose eyes were blazing with anger. She continued, "And then if I told you everything between us was purely platonic, would you buy it? Would that make you happy?" Before she even finished, Everett was in her face, gripping her chin tightly, forcing her to look up at him. His words were squeezed out through gritted teeth, "How dare you!"

So, she finally admits her feelings for Callum! No more pretending, right here, right now!

Despite the pain, Selena managed a smile, meeting his icy stare without flinching. "Why is it okay for you to do it, but not for me? Do you have an extra eye or an extra mouth? We're all human, equal in rights. Why can you get away with everything, and I can't even light a candle?"

What a sharp-tongued woman!

At that moment, he truly felt like pulling out all those biting teeth. Everett's gaze darkened, his breathing heavy, with anger swirling around him, veins bulging on his forearms as he fought the urge to lash out.

Selena stood her ground, not backing down an inch. Even if her words were meant to provoke him, they were cries from her wounded heart. She felt her years of love were wasted, fighting for her own sense of justice.

In the spacious bedroom, only their heavy breathing filled the air, their gazes locked in a cold, resentful stare.

After a moment, Everett's lips curled into a smirk. The fury in his eyes was replaced by an icy chill as he spoke with a sneer, "Mrs. Bennett, I guess I haven't satisfied you enough to keep your mind from wandering!"

With that, he scooped her up and headed for the bed, not giving her a chance to protest. Realizing what he intended, Selena fought back fiercely, using every ounce of strength she had.

This was always his way of handling things. He never addressed the real issues! She despised his touch and didn't want to be near him again!

But her strength was no match for his rage, as Everett pinned her hands beside her head, nailing her to the bed, and leaned down to kiss her hard.

That kiss was more of a venting bite, like a battle with him determined to conquer her, and she gritting her

teeth in resistance. Yet, the morene

she resisted, the more it fueled his desire to conquer, and he chuckled at her feeble attempts.

Their struggle ended with Selena's defeat, her strength and breath drained, pinned at the edge of the bed, her gaze turning hazy...

Suddenly, she stopped fighting, just

lying there, quietly looking up at Everett looming over her. The light from above cast shadows that highlighted his handsome features and wild nature, adding a certain allure to his intense desire. Undoubtedly, he was the kind to

easily make a woman's heart flutter.

She had been married to him for three years, heart fluttering for three years, 1086 days and nights, loving him so much that even a simple hug would make her heart skip a beat. Now, only sorrow remained. Her heart couldn't flutter for him anymore, her body no longer craved him. Her voice emerged, shaky but clear, "Everett, you're right, you no longer satisfy me."

The love she wanted wasn't like this. Without love, where's the desire, where's the joy?

Everett froze at her words. Everything she said tonight hit him like a knife to the heart. Just because she didn't want him anymore.

Could the woman who once clung to him and desperately sought his attention really be gone? No, he couldn't believe it!

If there was so much love before, how could it just vanish?

"Women always say one thing but

mean another. Let's see if your body agrees!" Everett, angered again, grabbed her chin, forcing her to open her mouth, kissing her deeply, entangling with her lips and tongue, novelbin

using every trick to try and provoke her.
