“Mommy, is daddy really dead?” Sana asked.

“No, not at all” Hazel shook her head.

“Daddy is not dead. Daddy would be back next week. He is just… Just very very injured that he would not be able to do a thing for the next one week but after that week, you would see daddy smiling at you one more time” Hazel assured the little girl and Sana hugged her, feeling relieved.

“I… I was so scared. I was hearing everyone saying that Daddy was dead”

“Do not listen to them. You trust Mommy, right?”

“Yes, I trust Mommy”

“Great.”

They hugged and remained in the position for a pretty long time before the door opened and Davis walked in with a look of displeasure on his face.

“Sana” he called and Sana pulled away Hazel reluctantly.

“Why don’t you give I and your Mommy some space?” He asked and slowly, Sana pulled away and walked out of the room.

As soon as the little girl was out of the room, Davis brows returned to the way they had been.

“What did I hear about you wanting to bring back Axel to life?” He asked, his worry evident.

“Oh, you heard it already” was the only words of Hazel as she looked away from him and looked over at the white walls of the room. as if they had suddenly turned into something interesting.

“Oh I heard it already?” Davis was clearly surprised by her response.

He walked towards her.

“You are going to kill yourself to bring Axel back?”

“Yes, you heard that right, Davis. Don’t you want Axel to come back to life?” Hazel asked, looking back at him.

“I want him to come back to life but not in this way. Anything could be done to bring him back to life but you killing yourself? No” he shook his head.

“You should not worry about me that much” Hazel replied.

“I am not worrying about you actually. I am worrying about Axel and about myself. You think Axel will ever be happy when he comes back to life and finds out that you are dead and gone just to bring him back? You know how much Axel loves you. He would never want you to kill yourself for his life. If he comes back to life through this method, it would be no surprise if he kills himself in a few days and me? He is going to kill me first for ever allowing you to go through with this, Hazel.”

“That… That is right” Hazel mumbled as if coming back to her senses.

“Exactly. So you have to stop it all now. There is no way you are…”

“I am not stopping anything” she cut him off.

“What??”

“I just realized that you are right about Axel being so much in love with me. He could really kill himself after my death. Thank you for reminding me about that. I will find a solution to that.”

“A solution? What are you talking about?” Davis eyes squinted in confusion.

“You do not have to worry, Davis. Axel would not kill himself and he would not kill you. Thank you for making me think about this…”

“Don’t you get it? You have his pup inside of you? You should focus on getting better and raising his pup to become a man that would be strong and fit for the Alpha” he cut her off.

“I would… I would never be able to do so. This is the only thing I can do and that is why I am doing it.”

Davis sighed and ran his hands through his hair.

“I understand that you love Axel and you feel guilty about his death but none of it should make you want to kill yourself for him to come back to life….”

“Kill herself to bring Axel back?” The door opened and Damien walked in, his brows arched.

Hazel closed her eyes tightly.

“That is what she is planning on doing” Davis replied Damien, giving a slight bow.

“Hazel! Are you completely out of your mind? How could you even….”

“I have made up my mind. No one can change it.” Hazel cut him off.

“Try convincing her to drop this silly thought of hers, Alpha Damien” Davis said to Damien and walked out of the room.

He was going out to search for Clarissa. Even though the friendship of Clarissa and Hazel had suffered a whole lot over the past few months, it did not change the fact that they at least used to be best of friends and perhaps, Clarissa would be able to talk Hazel out of her plans of dying for Axel to be brought back.

Davis pulled out his phone and dialed Clarissa’s contact but she was not picking up at all. He had called her three times before she eventually picked up his call.

“Hey, Clarissa. Where are you right now?”

“I… I’m at home” her voice cracked.

“You’re crying? What’s up?”

“It’s nothing. I am fine” she assured him but Davis knew nothing was fine.

“You should probably come over to Hazel” he replied anyways.

“Anything wrong?”

“She is planning on killing herself?”

“Killing herself?!” The shock in her voice could not be undermined.

“Yes, you heard that right. She is planning to kill herself to bring Axel back to life.”

“Is she out of her mind? Going to kill herself?! What’s up with these two lovers?!”

“You should come over and talk her out of it” Davis repeated.

“I will be on my way and you stay with her and make sure she does nothing stupid till I get there.”

“Alright”

The call ended.

Clarissa knew it that she had not been a really great friend all these days but she also knew that death was a limit that she would never allow Hazel cross.

She had thought Hazel died in the hands of Rex before but since she was still alive, she would ensure she didn’t do anything stupid.
