Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee

Chapter 785: Meeting Logan

On the other side, in Ella Bailey's courtyard.

The room, about a dozen square meters, was arranged like a hotel double room, with two large 1. 8-meter-wide beds. Ella Bailey and Luke Gill lay on separate beds, with two bedside tables' width of space between them. The room was brightly lit. Ella Bailey, fiddling with her phone, suddenly sat up and looked at Luke Gill. "Why did you help me today?"

Luke Gill paused his page-turning and glanced at Ella Bailey, his gaze full of something inexplicable. "You're my wife. If I don't help you, should I help Kelly instead?"

"After all, I'm your husband in name. Our interests are aligned, and we still have a mutual agreement, don't we?"

The man's lips curled into a faint smile, the light reflecting in his eyes like scattered stars.

To be fair, Luke Gill did have his charms.

No wonder Elsa had been so thoroughly deceived by him in the past. Back then, Luke Gill had been in his early twenties-a young man brimming with energy, fully devoted to helping her. Ella Bailey thought idly. If it had been her, she might not have resisted either.

Still, she regarded Luke Gill warily, her face betraying her skepticism. "Now you're not even pretending anymore."

"Why bother pretending? You've already seen my true face," Luke Gill replied without looking up, his eyes fixed on the book in front of him. After finishing his sentence, he paused, then turned to look at her again. "By the way, I've already arranged a meeting for you with Logan at the teahouse tomorrow.'

"What?!"

Ella Bailey jumped off the bed, her eyes wide with shock. "No, no, no! Why? Why did you go behind my back to contact him? How did you even get close to the Farrell family? Logan knows who you are-why didn't he throw She looked like an agitated kitten, fur bristled.

out?!"

Luke Gill's gaze shifted slightly, a hint of amusement playing on his lips. "I'm not Victor. Why would Logan throw me out?"

"I used your hair to run a DNA test with him," the man said in a quiet, emotionless voice. "When he found out you're his niece, he was overjoyed. Why would he kick out his granddaughter's husband?" Ella Bailey was stunned. She hadn't been home much in the past few days-when had Luke Gill taken her hair?!

As if her shock wasn't enough, Luke Gill continued, "He also asked me to tell you this: No matter what happened in the past or who your father is, as long as you're Simone Farrell's daughter, he's willing to accept you. The Farrell family's doors will always be open to you."

"So, Ella, don't disappoint me. The lawsuit, my reputation-it's all in your hands now. You wouldn't want a husband branded as a corporate traitor, someone constantly doxxed online and called a homewrecker or worse, would you?" Ella Bailey frowned, glancing at him. Somehow, she felt Luke Gill wanted more than just to restore his reputation.

At Farrell Manor, Tina was on her way back to the villa when she received a call from Jared.

Hearing that Logan had invited them over for dinner, she was momentarily surprised but agreed without hesitation.

After arranging for Hayden to drop Elsa off at the villa, Tina checked on Austin's injuries and stopped by the lab. By the time she arrived at Farrell Manor, it was already six in the evening. Jared was waiting for her in the living room.

Not just Jared-almost everyone in the Farrell family who could make it had shown up.

"Tina!"

As soon as Tina walked through the door, Sophia ran toward her excitedly.

She hugged Tina's leg tightly, leaving Jared a step behind. "I missed you! You never come home to see me anymore!"

The little girl pouted, whining at Tina. Jared, catching up, tugged on Sophia's ponytail. "Tina's been busy. Do you think everyone's like you, doing nothing but eating and sleeping all day?" Sophia glared at her older brother, hands on her hips. "I do not! I study hard every day!"

Jared teased her again, grinning. "Sure you do. Eat, sleep, study-you sound just like a little pig!"novelbin

"Enough," Logan interrupted with a smile. Once Tina had sat down with Sophia in her lap, he grew serious. "Stop fooling around. I called you all here today because there's something important to discuss."

Marie casually switched seats, squeezing her son aside to sit next to Tina. Ignoring the annoyed looks from her husband and Jared, she leaned close to Tina. "Dad, what's going on? The whole family's here today-it must be something big." Logan cleared his throat. "Simone's daughter came to see me today. Jared, I want you and Tina to come with me tomorrow to meet her. After the meeting, we'll have a family dinner. Anyone who's still part of the Farrell family must attend." "That's all I have to say. You can leave now."

Logan stood up abruptly and headed upstairs, his steps quick and determined. Before anyone could react or ask questions, he had disappeared from sight. By the time they snapped out of their daze, Logan was long gone. Tina blinked twice, exasperation and resignation flickering across her face. "Grandpa is just..."

Jared moved closer, pulling a stool to sit beside Tina. A shadow crossed his eyes briefly as he grabbed his wife's hand and stood up. "There's nothing more to discuss. Mom, Dad, we're heading back now."

He didn't wait for their response, dragging Tina out with him at a brisk pace.

"Uncle, why are you in such a hurry?" Tina asked as she was shoved into the car.

The black sedan slowly left the courtyard. Tina glanced back at Sophia, who had chased after them and was now stomping her foot in frustration. Her tone was amused. Jared held her hand tightly. "I'll explain when we get back."

Back at the apartment, Tina barely had time to take off her shoes before Jared pulled her into the living room.

"The person who went to see Grandpa today was Luke Gill," Jared said, his tone serious.

"Luke Gill?" Tina raised an eyebrow. "He has time for this? Instead of worrying about covering up the truth, he's bothering Grandpa?"

Jared hugged her, resting his chin on her shoulder. "Have you considered that he might be helping Ella Bailey establish ties with the Farrell family to influence the lawsuit?"

Tina laughed. "If that's his plan, then his brain must not be working. If I were him, I'd be scrambling to eliminate all key witnesses-or at least move them somewhere safe. Unless, of course, he has no idea where Kael Bailey and the others are." Jared nodded slowly, agreeing with her assessment. "He's probably trying to play the emotional card. Hoping we'll back off from Elsa's case."

"An emotional card?" Tina smirked. "Does he think he has any emotional leverage over me?"

Jared chuckled. "It's hard to say exactly what he's after. Just stay vigilant over the next few days."
