Last Bloodline(The Sacrificial Mate)

Simon’s Pov

This week was a bit rough and stressful with the cases in the pack, but I am glad everything got handled by Alpha Lorde after his spouses went missing.

Before the luna welcoming party, I took a few things to Alpha Lorde’s office.

“Alpha Lorde, your signature so I can let them proceed with supplying the packs their resources.”

“Oh, that’s true, bring it.” He said.

I took it to him, and you need to see how he has been smiling; I think finding a mate is genuinely a good thing.

“Then find yours; what are you waiting for?” Jay, my wolf, said.

“Please not now, okay? Allow me to focus on work.”

“I won’t let you rest; find your mate.” He kept disturbing me, and I just had to bear it.

“Is the result out now?” Alpha Lorde asked.

“By tomorrow evening, it should be out.”

“Okay, since we kept quiet about finding the enemy, have you noticed any strange movement with anyone?”

“Not at all; everyone is just acting the same way.”

“Let’s be observant okay? Immediately after the luna welcoming, we need to start digging more just in case they are planning to strike.” He added.

“Noted.”

“Lastly, has everyone resumed working here, the special wolves?”

“Not everyone; I heard one of the she-wolves will be coming today.”

“Okay, I trust you to be able to handle it yourself without stressing others, don’t be harsh and find out why she delayed, but something tells me maybe it’s because of some issues.”

“I will handle it then, and lastly, you do not need to advise me on that; I should be advising you to be calm,” I added to make fun of him.

“You silly beta.” He came at me, and I laughed as we played in the office. Then Katarina, Amelia’s sister, knocked at the door.

“Good day, everyone.” She said.

“Katarina, I hope nothing is happening at your office?” Alpha Lorde asked her.

“Not at all, sir; I just wanted to know if you are okay.” She said it makes me doubt her; I feel she is scared to relate to herself easily.

“Okay, thanks for asking, but right now, you need to always remain at your duty post because of any necessary job that might come to your desk.”

“Oh, that’s right, I shall take my leave now.” She smiled before leaving.

“Alpha Lorde seems she is so caring to her sister mate,” I added.

“Out.” He said, and I started laughing, leaving his office.

I got a call from the information center saying the lady absent from the particular wolf was on her way, I was just excited about it, but I asked myself, why was I even excited?

Alpha Lorde texted me, saying, “Take care of the company; I need to surprise my mate with something.”

I sent him an emoji of thinking; I am happy he likes her so much.

The lab team leader called me, saying, “The result will be completed tonight, but something tells me blood from the werewolf was extracted.”

“I knew it; please send me the result immediately. It’s out.”

“Okay, I will do that then, have a nice day.” He ended the phone call, and I decided to focus on my duties when I caught a pleasant scent that pleased me.

Who could that be? I knew someone had entered the building, and the more the person approached my office direction, the modeling love for the person already.

I started controlling myself to focus on duties, but then the door opened, revealing a beautiful lady that was not that tall, saying, “Good day beta, I got directed here, please I am so sorry I failed to assemble last week.”

Our eyes locked, and Jay was jumping and happy, too; the only word that came out of my mouth was ‘Mate.’

Lorde’s Pov

I left the office immediately after texting Simon; I think Amelia needs a phone so that I can be in contact with her always.

I thought of Katarina, maybe she could help me out, so I went to her office.

“Alpha Lorde.” She called in surprise about approaching me, but I just told her, “Don’t worry, I will sit here since I came to see you; you are the boss of this office as far as you are here.”

“Oh, thank you.” She kept smiling, making me so uncomfortable, and now I wonder I came here in the first place.

“Alpha Lorde, did I do something wrong?” She asked me.

“No, you didn’t.”

“You have been quiet since you stepped in here without saying a word.”

“Oh, yes, I came to ask you about some things about your sister?”

“Right, you want to know more about Amelia, right?”

“Yes, knowing you are the only family she has here, I would love to inquire something from you.”

“What exactly do you wish to know.”

“What does your sister like?”

She didn’t reply in time and made me wonder if she doesn’t know what her sister was like.

“She likes working a lot, always wants to do everything herself without letting anyone join her, mostly the kitchen.”

“I see, but I am not talking about you telling me the things she likes doing, I mean like her favorite color, does she like chocolate, her kind of interest.”

“Oh, I think her color is white or pink, that is her favorite, then chocolate she loves them a lot, anything sweet candies, these are her favorite, and she likes Erick a lot.”

I was smiling, taking note of the things my mates like, but when she said she likes Erick a lot, I froze, wondering what she meant; my mate is destined to like just me and no one else.

“Who is Erick?”

“Oh my bad, I should not have said it.”

“I want you to tell me.”

“Please don’t be angry at her; Erick was the only boy she liked talking to when she was very young, either she is with him or the pack nurse, knowing she is now living here in this town, I guess he will want to visit her here, and they are very close.” My eyes got red, mostly when she said they were very close; I left her office rushing to call the rogue at home.

“Hello, Alpha Lorde.”

“Tell me, did anyone come to see my mate?”

“Oh yes, some hours ago.”
