I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 135

Chapter 135 Admiration

Harper furrowed her brows lightly, saying, "You're overthinking it. I'm just going out for a walk. I've been cooped up at home doing nothing for two days."

She didn't need the exercise, but her baby could use some fresh air.

Of course, she didn't say that to Benjamin.

Benjamin scrutinized her expression and gaze, then replied the next moment, "Then let's go."

Harper withdrew her gaze, then opened the door and walked out.

To her surprise, Benjamin followed her out and closed the door behind him before she could say anything.

Harper looked at him puzzled. Before she could speak, she heard his deep voice. "Aren't we going for a walk? Let's go."

She was rendered speechless.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

She furrowed her brows as he walked over to press the elevator button.

Harper strolled over to stand beside him, asking softly, "Are you coming too?"

"Can't I?"

"That's not what I meant."

She pressed her lips, not saying anything more.

The two rode the elevator downstairs and walked along the apartment to the nearby lake. The evening breeze was slightly chilly but oddly refreshing.

They walked side by side, neither of them breaking the silence.

As the sky gradually darkened, they passed by a nearby supermarket. Harper looked at Benjamin and said, "I want to buy something. Could you wait here for a bit if you don't want to come in?" "Let's go together," he said lightly and led the way.

Harper was a bit surprised but hurried to catch up.

The two entered the supermarket, and Benjamin frowned slightly as he looked around the bustling interior, but his expression quickly returned to normal.

Harper pushed the shopping cart and walked to his side. "I'm going to buy some milk for tomorrow morning."

"Okay."

Benjamin followed her, and they stayed silent the entire time.

With a tall, imposing stature and a face of striking handsomeness, he exuded an air of aloofness and indifference, devoid of any unnecessary expressions. Despite this demeanor that made him seem distant and difficult to approach, he still managed to capture the attention of numerous young girls.

Some even blushed as they whispered to their friends, "He's so handsome! Although he's cold, I really like him! I wonder if he has a girlfriend! I really want to get his phone number. Who knows, he could be my next boyfriend!"

"Go for it! Don't miss the opportunity. Be bold, and he'll be yours!"

Benjamin had no words.

Although the voices were very light, Benjamin still heard them, and his face instantly turned cold and stern.

He glanced lightly at the two girls, then looked at Harper who was comparing two bottles of milk. She had tied her hair in a ponytail today, with stray strands falling on her face, revealing her delicate neck and beautiful face.

Even as Harper stood there in simple, casual attire, he couldn't shake the thought that those girls with thick makeup paled in comparison to her.

With his long legs striding forward gracefully, he positioned himself right behind Harper. From under her arms, he slipped his hand around her waist, gently taking the milk from her grasp. In a deep voice, he murmured, "If you like them, let's take both."

Then, he smoothly placed them in the shopping cart.

The two girls beside them instantly felt embarrassed and blushed even more, quickly covering their faces and whispering, "He already has a girlfriend. Let's go quickly!"

Then, they hurriedly turned and disappeared into the crowd.

Harper also caught sight of the scene, instantly grasping that certain individuals naturally drew attention, even without trying.

Yet, she merely glanced at it before averting her gaze. Retrieving one of the milk bottles from the cart and returning it to the refrigerated section, she remarked nonchalantly, "Just because you like something doesn't mean you should take both. Even if you bring them home, it may not suit your taste."

Benjamin furrowed his brows, his eyes betraying his dissatisfaction. "Is that all you wanted to tell me?"

Of course, she didn't mention anything to Benjamin. As she reached for the door to leave, a hand beat her to it, holding it shut.

Benjamin spoke again. "You have nothing to say to me? Didn't you notice what just happened?"
