I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 132

Chapter 132 Heat of the Moment

Harper's eyes, sharp and piercing, briefly met his before she averted her gaze. With a nonchalant tone, she remarked, "And you think you're not?"

"So, who do you think isn't childish? Frank?"

"Why do you always drag others into this? Didn't you say it's just between us, and we shouldn't involve anyone else?"

"He came on his own accord. I didn't drag him into our affairs on my own."

"But you can't seem to talk about anything without mentioning him, can you?" Her tone remained cool.

Benjamin's constant emphasis on keeping Lauren out of it made his fixation on Frank all the more perplexing.

Holding her chin, Benjamin's hand caressed it lightly as he spoke in an emotionless voice. "So, do you intend to keep your distance from him? I don't like seeing you cozy up to him, and I won't tolerate him making advances with ulterior motives. He's not sincere, and it's best to steer clear of such people."

Harper furrowed her brow, thinking that he was being absolutely unreasonable. But before she could protest, Benjamin leaned in and pressed his lips against hers, a faint smile playing on his lips before capturing hers.

"Mmm..."

She couldn't utter a word as her lips were sealed by his.

His kiss carried a fiery intensity, as if he wanted to consume her whole. She was rendered immobile, her hand only able to clutch at his shirt in an attempt to push him away.

However, her resistance only seemed to fuel his determination.

Eventually, she had no strength left to resist and surrendered to his fervent kisses.

Their kiss lasted until the doorbell interrupted them.

While holding her chin and with their foreheads touching, Benjamin gazed into her eyes and murmured, "I want to see you cry."

Harper's eyes widened, her breath uneven. "Let go of me. Someone's at the door."

"They can wait a bit longer. It's okay."

His voice lowered to a husky murmur, laden with suggestive undertones. Harper instantly grasped the implicit meaning, feeling a warmth and blush rise to her cheeks. In that moment, the air between them crackled with intensity.

With the doorbell chiming once more, Harper couldn't hold back any longer. She gently pushed him away as his grip loosened, and she stood up from his embrace.

Heading to the door, Harper was taken aback to find Curtis waiting outside.

Curtis greeted. "Mrs. Martin, I'm here to deliver some food."

"Delivery?" she asked, noticing the refined thermal basket in Curtis' hands.

A blush tinged her cheeks as she remembered her recent encounter with Benjamin at the dining table. They had forgotten to eat, and though the food hadn't completely cooled, some time had passed. Unaware of Harper's thoughts, Curtis explained softly, "Mr. Martin ordered them from The Silver, so I'm here to deliver it to him. Can I come in?"

Though he didn't express it directly, his tone hinted at concern over the delay in opening the door.

Harper quickly stepped aside, and Benjamin's voice followed. "Let him in."

As Curtis entered the apartment and approached Benjamin, he asked, "Mr. Martin, should I serve it now?"

"Yeah," came Benjamin's faint response.

Upon placing the basket on the table, Curtis noticed the untouched dishes. Uncertain, he inquired, "Mr. Martin, what about these dishes?"

"Take them away. Do whatever you see fit," he commanded indifferently.

Curtis nodded and prepared to exchange the dishes, but Harper intervened. "Wait a moment."

Curtis paused, looking at Benjamin for confirmation.Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
