“I need a break” Daphne uttered and ran off. Emerson closed his laptop after watching everything from his CCTV footage.

“Fight and get her back” he thought and looked at the mirror.

“When will you present the illegal stuff Lorenzo and Pablo are trying to bring into the market?” Hudson asked Emerson who wasn’t ready for any conversation.

“We will show them next month–

“That’s the second of next month,” he interrupted.

“Okay” he hummed and decided to bring up another conversation.

“How are you preparing for next week’s party ?” Hudson asked and gulped down his drink.

“As usual, the clan party will be the same way we do it. ” He replied.

“Your mood is telling me something else, what’s wrong.” Hudson summoned courage.

“I’m fine” he gave him a cold reply.

“Okay, guess it’s time to leave” Hudson said to no one in particular and left the room.

Jocelyn drove out of the clan compound at high speed…

“I’m out of the compound” she texted.

“You will see me in the next street” the text message came in.

“Okay then” she said aloud and hit the acceleration.

Few Minutes After

“What’s up babe ?” Pablo said as he closed the car door.

“I’m good, How was your trip ?” Jocelyn asked.

“It was fine. I’m staying with Lorenzo and his girlfriend” Pablo sighed deeply.

“Why did you call me out here ?” Jocelyn asked impatiently.

“Can’t you give your ex a warm hug ?” Pablo uttered with a pout.

“Hug my foot” she hissed.

“Okay. I won’t beat around the bush. I will need your help but not now” Pablo said and kissed her cheeks..

“I won’t be the one to assist you in that. I have a boyfriend-

“Emerson. That dude isn’t interested in you. He will dump you just like I did. Anyway, I’m here in case you need me.” He winked and got out of the car.

“Stup*d bastard” she cursed with a long hiss.

Allison threw the pillow at Lucas with a loud laughter that followed. Daphne burst in with tears on her cheeks.

“Aunt” she whimpered and ran into her embrace.

“Hey! What’s wrong?” Allison asked worriedly.

“I just want to be around you” Daphne mumbled softly, still having her arms around Allison’s body.

“What’s Daphne ?” Lucas asked and stood up.

“I’m confused”

“Confused? Allison asked as she exchanged stares with Lucas.

“Mason is going crazy and I feel guilty. Boss is also… I can’t even finish it” Daphne stuttered as she disengaged from the hug. Allison and Lucas knew what she was saying but they couldn’t react to it.

“It’s fine.” Lucas pet her cutely.

“You have enough time to think about who you have feelings for. Don’t think about anybody’s feelings, just choose who your heart is beating for and you will be fine.” Allison uttered encouraging words to her with a kiss on her forehead.

“Thank you” Daphne appreciated.

“You are welcome. I’m free in case you need me another time” Allison smiled at her.

“Huh” she hummed and went out of the room.

“Do you think your bro is in love with her ?” Lucas asked worriedly.

“I’m not sure. I don’t know but I think it’s love at first sight” Allison suggested as she stood up to get a view of the weather.

“Next week is the clans party” Lucas said and wrapped his hand around her waist.

“Yeah. Other clan members will want to see who Emerson will pick among the crowd —

“What if he picks Daphne ?” Lucas said aloud and gasped. Allison turned around to face him with a panic expression on face.

“That won’t be good. What of Mason ?” She added.

“Shit… But Daphne is a year older than Mason” Lucas uttered and ran his hand through his hair.

“Age is just a number. It’s legal to fall in love. It wasn’t his fault he fell in love with her” Allison said almost close to tears.

“Shhh. It’s okay,–

“It’s not okay. The rules are strict. She will have to move to his bedroom and stay with him for a month, he will kiss her publicly… She’s gradually become his mistress, just like how Jocelyn is right now” Allison held her hand frustratedly.

“Spending a month with him might lead to something else” Lucas said in a whisper but Allison was sharp enough to hear it.

“She said, it will cause a fight among the brothers but it seems that will be happening soon.”

“Let’s wait till then” Lucas uttered in order to calm her down. But he was worried inside of him.

Mrs Ellison stopped her phone when she saw something on the CCTV footage.

“What date is this ?” She asked the security.

“It was the day a maid fired a gun at Ariel” he answered truthfully.

“Oh.. but what is she doing in front of that door ?” Mrs Ellison asked as he took the mouse of the control… She played the footage and was left stunned.

“She’s a spy” the security gasped.

“Who are those she’s working for ?” Mrs Ellison thought with a calm facial expression on her face.

“Make a copy of that footage ” she said strictly with a furious face as she walked out of the room. Accidentally, she bumped into the same lady she saw earlier.

“Why are you walking around !” Mrs Ellison asked angrily.

“I’m sorry ma’am” she apologized with a bow.

“Guards” Mrs Ellison called three men that were feet away from her.

“Take her to the private room” she gave the order.

“Ma’am. Ma’am Ellison… What’s my offense? I didn’t do anything.” she kept screaming as she was dragged away.

“Mommy” Madison called, rushing to block her way.

“Where is your sister ?” She asked looking behind her.

“Ariel is asleep on my bed” she said.

“Next week is the brother’s clan party—

“I want to go. Please mom, I promise to visit mason only” Madison pouted.

“You aren’t going anywhere. It’s dangerous to go there on that day. ” Mrs Ellison said strictly.

“But–

“No, but. Listen to me Madison, you can choose another date but not that particular day” she said and slammed the door on her face.

” I will choose another date then” she said aloud and walked away.

“Next month is my birthday, how I wish my sister Daphne was here, she would have been planning how things will work out on that particular day. I miss her” Anaya mumbled to herself as she wiped her tears while Amy stood at the entrance to watch her without her knowledge.

“What if we go out on that day ?” Amy suggested as she walked in.

“I’m not going anywhere,” Anaya replied as she arranged her books in her school bag.

“Why? I thought you wanted it special” Amy said and took a seat on her bed.

“What’s special there, when Ariel and sis Daphne aren’t there” Anaya rolled her eyes along with a scoff.

“Don’t worry, we will surely see them one day and I think I have someone that can make that day special for you” Amy winked at her.

“Who?” Anaya asked curiously.

“Hoodie hero” she said aloud with a wide smile visible at the corner of her lips…

“But it can’t be special like sister Daphne’s own.” Anaya pouted..

“But it’s still better. You will be around someone you trust.. He’s like your brother and he loves you like a kid sister” Amy utter sweetly.

“So I should tell him beforehand,” Anaya asked anxiously.

“Yes,” Amy said and kissed her forehead.

“Yeeee” Anaya screamed happily and ran out of the room to take her phone in the living room.

“Guess this is a perfect timing to carry out my motive” she thought with a bright smile on her lips.
