Rejoyla managed to compose herself and ignore Jason's mocking gaze. She sat quietly and watched as Dr. Auther treated Jason's wounds.
Jason didn't ask her to leave but looked at her with a cold expression. Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
Dr. Auther treated Jason skillfully and handed the ointment to Rejoyla. He instructed her in a way as if she were a servant attending to Jason. "His injury isn't serious, but you mustn't be careless. It's on his face, after all. Apply the medicine twice a day and make sure the wound doesn't get wet. Pay attention to his diet and overall health. If he develops a fever, notify me immediately. I'll write you a prescription later."
"Okay." Rejoyla took the ointment, and the doctor left.
Jason lay on the sofa like a king and said, "I'm hungry!"
Rejoyla remained seated. Jason kicked her and repeated, "Didn't you hear me? I am hungry!"
"Find one of your servants then. There are so many in this house! Since you're fine, I should leave." She placed the ointment in Jason's hand and reminded him, "Remember to apply the medicine according to the doctor's instructions!"
Seeing that Rejoyla was about to leave, Jason sullenly stretched out his legs to block her path and accused her, "I was injured because of you! How can you leave me here alone? Do you have no heart?"
Jason had the nerve to say that? Rejoyla stepped over his legs and sulked, "I was accused of seducing you. From now on, we should keep our distance from each other. I don't want it to affect my marriage."
"Getting married? To whom? Who wants you?"
Rejoyla turned around to see Jason sprawled on the sofa with a smirk on his face, looking snobbish. She took two steps toward him and kicked him before declaring, "What do you know? There are plenty of men courting me! In fact, someone is waiting for me today!" After kicking him, she ran away.
She stopped in the corridor and looked back. The carved door was open, but no one appeared as she had expected. She snorted and ran up to the top floor to find Jacquelyn.
When she arrived at Jacquelyn's room, she found it bustling with activity. People were chattering all around, and the noise was incessant. Rejoyla picked her ears and noticed what appeared to be Heidi standing in the doorway. She quickly turned around and tried to slip away.
Unfortunately, someone spotted her first. Hillary helped Heidi into the door just in time to see Rejoyla coming up the stairway. She raised her voice and shouted, "Miss Lynn, wait!"
Rejoyla tried to pretend she didn't hear and hurried downstairs, but Jacquelyn heard the noise and stepped forward, grabbing Rejoyla's wrist. She asked in a low voice, "What's going on?"
Georgina was crying early in the morning. Burton, who had less sleep due to his old age, had gotten up early and gone out for a walk to exercise without waking her.
When Georgina was taken to her, Burton hadn't come back yet. Georgina was clearly very angry and didn't hold back with her words. She hurled insults and said all sorts of unkind things, venting her anger on Jacquelyn.
Georgina's uncle ran a nightclub. Her mother had hooked up with Nicolas at their store. Nicolas had treated it as a one-night stand and had no intention of developing anything long-term with Georgina's mother. Although he was quite promiscuous, he was a man of taste. Not just any woman
could be by his side. Someone like Georgina's mother simply wasn't good enough for him. So, after sleeping with the woman, he had forgotten about her.
