Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1377

The moment she opened the folder, Victoria's eyes almost fell out of her sockets. "What on Earth is this?" She couldn't help but exclaim.

Numerous inappropriate photos were placed above the documents. The photos slightly overlapped and were dangling from the folder but they didn't fall off. That secretary must've stuck them to the folder with some doublesided tape.

The photos were all flirty and hideous.

Victoria knew that Dakota had some unethical intentions, but she didn't expect her to make such a daring move! Narrowing her eyes, Victoria was at her wit's end. However, she suddenly recalled Trevor's words. "I like it most...when you don't wear anything!"

These were exactly what he liked!

Dakota didn't even try to hide or conceal any of it. The photos were even kind of, in a way, artistic. A thought flashed through Victoria's mind as her body went rigid.

Who took these pictures for her?

The pictures looked pretty professional! None of them looked like selfies!

Victoria observed the pictures and started admiring them. "Yep," she secretly thought, "It's pretty open!" That woman must've been as bold as brass to muster up such courage to put these private photos into the folder. Wasn't she concerned at all? Someone could've just taken pictures of these and spread them. Victoria immediately understood why Dakota didn't hand the document into the secretary's office, but instead, she came directly to Trevor. Would she even have the guts for that?

A moment later, Victoria started savoring the photos again. The photos were quite nice, to be frank. Dakota's O-shaped legs were barely visible when lying down. Even while taking such photos, Dakota held her head high. Such bewitching poses, such sensual snapshots.

"What a fool..."

She was going to photoshop and edit the photos anyway, why put in the effort to pose so elegantly? Nonetheless, Dakota's had a pretty nice body figure. She looked like she belonged in the hourglass category. The last two photos were probably the most interesting of them all. Dakota crossed her hands in front of her. Her legs were wide open yet the middle part was covered while she bit her lips. Victoria couldn't hide her jolliness.

"Haha, it's a pity she's a secretary here when she could've been shooting some movies out there. Look at them! Whoever photoshopped these really knew what they were doing!"

"I wonder how many boxes of powder she used? They must've put in a lot of effort in the lighting too." With these kinds of photos in Victoria's possession, Dakota wouldn't dare try anything funny, would she? She sent them to Victoria herself! "Ah, cute," Victoria thought, "How shall I ruin you?"

Women nowadays would do anything for men, wouldn't they? Victoria wasn't sure if they were being too audacious or her idea of chasing men was too outdated.

After enjoying the photos, Victoria stuffed the bills inside of the folder, covering some of the photos. She couldn't resist herself and let out a burst of laughter again.

Trevor caught her sounds of joy from the corridor. His tightly knitted brows unwittingly loosened a little. Victoria decided to tidy up Trevor's desk. She placed the documents neatly on his desk and categorized them according to their respective orders. She was watering some plants when Trevor returned to the office. She was clearly in a good mood as she hummed and giggled every once in a while. She didn't even detect his return.

Trevor lowered the briefcase in his hand and gingerly walked toward his wife as he asked, "Did you hit the jackpot or something? Why're you so happy today?"

"Ah..."

Victoria almost jumped out of her own skin as she cried out loud. After realizing it was just Trevor, she patted her chest and replied, "You scared the life of me! Hubby, how come you're so quiet when you move?"

Thank God it was Trevor. If it were another man, he could've killed her without her noticing!

He rested his chin on her shoulder as he nodded firmly, "It's not my fault you weren't paying attention-" Serenity and tranquility weren't qualities you usually see in Victoria Atlas. Just like the flowers she watered earlier, it was as though she had come alive again! Indulging himself in her faint fragrance, Trevor's mood was lifted as well.

That was why he liked Victoria so much. Her duality. It was as though two different people were living inside of her. She could be elegant and fragile like a little girl, but when the times are fitting, she could be more dominant than the fiercest warriors. She'd never linger around the same spot just because it was too comfortable. She'd always move on to the next thing, the next challenge, no matter how terrifying it may seem.

These types of people were the most interesting ones, while interesting people make every day seem new and different. That was why he could never stop liking her.

"Hubby, look how hardworking I am. I watered the flowers for you!"

She even asked him for credit! She only sprayed the flowers a couple of times with the sprayer. She really is in an immensely good mood to be gloating about such a tiny accomplishment! She didn't even try to hide it from her face!

Squeezing her little chin, Trevor took the opportunity and praised her, "Yes, good girl..."

Trevor unbuttoned his suit and sat down on his chair. He was a little dizzy after the busy morning. Victoria put down the sprayer as she noticed his fatigue. She got him a glass of warm water before giving him a massage on the back. She wisely chose to keep quiet as her hands worked tirelessly.

Trevor closed his eyes and relaxed under her gentle rubbing. He even drifted off out of tiredness. When he opened his eyes again, he felt more energetic. The gentle rubbing on his back was still there, it was just way slower than before. He could feel her soft fingertips pressing on his temple. He took one of her hands in his and his eyebrows furrowed.

"Aren't you tired? How long have I slept?"

"No, not at all! You've only snoozed for a while! Hubby, did something bad happen at work?" He seemed more exhausted than usual. Victoria couldn't believe that he dozed off just seconds after sitting down. His breathing was heavy, so he must've actually fallen asleep.

"I'm fine! It's nothing. It's just that I've been listening to a stubborn old man's yammering for the whole morning. It was so annoying it gave me headaches! Unfortunately, he was a senior, so I had to show some respect!"

Conversing with Victoria helped calm down Trevor's tense nerves. He took his briefcase and sorted out his documents efficiently.

Victoria knew to shy away from his

work life. Even though they were husband and wife, she understood that they had to draw a clear line between their work lives and personal lives. He never enquired too much about her work as well. Thus, she respected his work. If he wanted to chat or moan about it, she would always lend him a listening ear. However, there were some things that she shouldn't know

about, and she knew not to ask about them.

"What would you like for lunch?"

"I'll have whatever my husband is eating, I'm not that picky, you know!" Following him to work every day may sometimes bother him, so Victoria wanted to trouble him as little as possible.

"Hehe..."

Trevor pulled her hand again with a wide grin on his face, "Then we'll grab something to eat in a nearby restaurant later!"

She did have some unfinished business. Victoria decided to deal with them later!

"Alright!"

Victoria obediently stepped aside as he picked up the documents on his desk. She couldn't help stealing a few glances in his direction out of curiosity.

As Trevor picked up the folder, the phone on his desk rang abruptly. Trevor's hand retreated from the document and reached for the phone, "Yes, it's me-"

Victoria was walking further and further away from him. Upon seeing this, she stopped dead in her tracks and underwent an internal conflict, "If I leave now, I won't be able to enjoy the drama later!"

After mild consideration, she decided to head back and grabbed the sprayer along the way. While he was on the phone, she slipped into the bathroom to pour away the remaining water in the sprayer and then refill it,

"Alright, good job, I got it!"

Upon hearing this, Victoria assumed that Trevor was going to hang up, so she slowly carried the sprayer and returned outside. Just as she was about to put down the sprayer, Trevor stood up from his seat with the phone in his hand.

"You don't have to feel guilty about this at all. So what if he suspects us? That Eguchi had provoked and infuriated so many people, how can he be sure that we were the ones threatening him? Because we're buying his stocks? Hehe~"

"His suspicions aren't the precise truth! Besides, do you know what kind of people he messed with? They're either ranking officials or gangster leaders. He's catching shadows, it's futile! Furthermore, he's so overwhelmed right now, how could he possibly negotiate?"

With a cold smug on his face, Trevor snapped his fingers softly.

It was a pretty hasty order. He simply wanted to give him a warning, he wasn't sure what his next move was. He may have gilded the lily. Perhaps it was a superfluous move after all.

However, what had been done was done. That loose end didn't matter anymore.noveldrama

"He can sell them if he wants to. If he refuses to sell them, well, he'll just have to sit back and watch as we swallow them whole. Come back when everything's almost done, you don't need to waste too much time over there!

He has already enraged the public. A gentleman makes money in the right way, and the same goes with lust. Doesn't he understand this simple principle? Does he think he's invincible because he's an Eguchi? Now that he's involved in a criminal case, I wonder how many years he'll be spending behind bars?" Trevor's conversation piqued Victoria's interest. "Eguchi?" She pondered, "That Eguchi who asked for me right in front of him?"

She was still lost in her own world when Trevor hung up the phone. Victoria watered the same plant for centuries before Trevor gently tapped on her head.

"Earth calling Victoria..."

Did she have a grudge against his flowers? She was going to drown them!

Victoria raised her head and Trevor

automatically gave her a nod of confirmation "He's an unlucky one. He had gone overboard. He killed a celebrity before our case was

uncovered. Coupled with his criminal case from earlier, he's not going to end well. Moreover, he had been involved with some dangerous people who are out for him this very instant! Eguchi cannot escape his fate. He'll probably face at least eight to ten years of jail time!"

"The Eguchi Family were,

undeniably, supremely dominant in

the past. They solved all their

problems with violence and

bloodshed, but the times are

different now! Now, they're more like the little rats trying to cross the aisles, of course, they would have to be more aware and cautious! That's why you shouldn't be intimidated at alb The laws in Japan are more lenient, and the Eguchi Family does have a pretty long history. Perhaps that's why they oppressed women so ruthlessly. But that's not the case in our country. The death penalty in our country definitely scared the wits out of them, they won't dare to make too much of a fuss. All he can do now is make empty threats, so don't you worry, alright?"

With her forehead against his chest, Victoria narrowed her eyes while smiling, "Alright.

Thank you for doing so much for me! You've done too much, Hubby-"

"What should I say?" The question showed up in Victoria's mind out of nowhere, "I love you', or perhaps 'I appreciate your efforts?" She wasn't sure. However, Victoria felt as if her heart were at her throat, and suddenly she knew what to say.

A confused expression appeared in her eyes for a while before she continued, "It's nice having you in my

life!"
