Holger had been very involved in the project for quite some time now. Therefore, at that moment, he was upset and concerned.

"These people, they're so unreliable! They should've informed me when our business partner was leaving, not after! Trevor, perhaps something is going on inside Eguchi Media Corp., like what if internal strife occurs? What should we do then?"

Their stocks were highly dependent on the situation, it can't be a small matter, right?

"There's no need to panic, is there? The contract is not a big deal. If we can't collaborate with them, we'll just buy the whole company. Right now, we need to prepare for the worst! Ready the employees. What we need from them are their equipment and skills, not their men. We need them to guide us through this maze and to find the minute flaws in our projects. If they're not willing to do that, we can still do it ourselves!" "Huh?"

Holger opened his mouth, but no words came out. After half a second, he finally grasped the situation as he banged his head, "Yes, you're right! I was too edgy."

Eguchi Media Corp, had always been profitable. It was an established business that had been managed quite well for the past few years. The company had sufficient capital and funding as well. The thought of buying the company never occurred to Holger!

Trevor was so calm though. Perhaps he had already seen this coming? Could it be that he had been interested in buying the company long ago?

Their eyes met. Trevor didn't justify his actions.

"It's not too late yet. Now is the perfect chance, isn't it?" Trevor continued, "I'm not interested in anything else. In terms of anime production, I must say that they're more skilled than us! I even heard that they launch their movies and anime series separately. You understand what must be done, I assume?" Holger nodded, his rationality had slowly returned to him.

"Yes, sir. I'll have someone keep an eye on them this afternoon. If that's the case, it'll be easier than bending our backs working with them!"

Frankly, perhaps it was because of his strong hostility towards them, Holger wasn't fond of collaborating with the media company at all! Of course, even if he didn't like them, he had to admit that the company did have some strengths and advantages in anime production.

Just look at their marketing strategy. If they produce the anime together with a Japanese company, they would be able to profit from the product more. The anime would, undoubtedly, be more popular as well. The country itself was famous for its anime products, so the Japanese anime businesses surely received many benefits!

They even did some research regarding this matter, and sure enough, their animes were more outstanding and well-received by the public!

Subconsciously, Holger does prefer just buying the whole company. After all, that was very different from cooperating with them.

"Right, if we can snatch the whole company, then we can make it into our branch company over in Tokyo. That would be perfect! I don't want any flaws in our productions. The anime industry had helped advertised a lot of other products, we must take advantage of that! Keep an eye over there. We have to seize any opportunities to take the company-"

"I understand! I'll make some arrangements these couple of days and go there myself!"

Holger then made a few more reports before leaving the office.

Although Victoria didn't hear the whole conversation, some words like "Eguchi " caught her attention.

When she returned, the complexity and confusion in her eyes were unmistakable.

The problem was solved so quickly. He was too efficient, wasn't he?

When she returned to Trevor, she lowered her head and planted a kiss on his cheek. However, before she could retreat her hands from his neck, the office door swung open again. Once again, Holger stood frozen

at the doorway with a document in hand. After a while, he finally opened his mouth to speak.

"There's a document I need you to sign!"

He patted his head out of frustration. Victoria was surely as upset as he was. "I'm just trying to smooch my husband in peace," she thought, "Did he have to ruin the moment, again?"

Their eyes met for one mere second before both of them dodge the other's gaze. Holger didn't even dare raise his head. After Trevor signed the document, Holger sprinted toward the doorway instantly.

"Well..." Holger added the moment he closed the door, "I really am done this time!"

A loud bang quickly followed. Victoria blushed out of awkwardness, but Trevor couldn't help but chuckle,

"Holger rarely acts like that. Sweetheart, you've embarrassed my assistant!"

Trevor supported his chin with his hand as he gave her an elegant glance.

"I've embarrassed him? Are you sure?"

Victoria covered her red face. She wanted to find a hole and plunge right into it, "Not everyone is as cheeky as you, you know!"

Why did Holger turn back?

He didn't even knock!

What a disaster!

What a catastrophe!

She'd die out of misery and embarrassment!

That's it, after what happened just now, she can't face Holger anymore!

Trevor reached out and pulled her into his embrace. He carefully positioned her on his lap while he let out a burst of laughter, "Haha-"

At the same time, there was a slight knock on the door. Victoria was so frightened that she jumped up from his lap. If only she could hide inside the walls!

"Come in!

Two employees in some chef's clothing came in with bento boxes, "Mr. Clements, your lunch!" "Alright, put it down! Come back and collect the boxes later!"

After sending everyone away, Trevor pulled Victoria over to his side and asked, "You must be hungry, right? Let's eat!"

Victoria swept a glance at the food.

Fish, fried veggies, and her favourite shrimp, shepherd's pie, and coca-cola chicken wings. The mere sight of the dishes made her hungry. She got two cups of hot water and the couple sat down. They each got themselves a plate of rice,

"Hubby, let's eat!"

They conversed casually while eating the late lunch.

Victoria swallowed most of the veggies while Trevor didn't even touch them. He did occasionally eat some green vegetables and rice, but Trevor focused most of his energy on the fish. Victoria couldn't help but contemplate his actions.

He really does love eating fish, doesn't he?

"Are you full? You'll never be able to compare these with home cooked meals, they always lack something!"

"Yes, I'm so full! It's delicious!"

After briefly tidying up the place, the couple rested on the sofa for a while before resuming their respective work.

For the next couple of days, Trevor brought Victoria to his company. If he needed to go out, she would either go with him or stay at the office and wait for his return. Their time alone was joyous and warm.

Naturally, the close couple's news

had spread further than the company. It even made thenoveldrama

headlines. When the couple

spread even more vigorously.

As soon as Selena Duff got home from the hospital, she received the news as well. She was so furious

She waved her hand, and suddenly a

newspaper with the couple's picture came into her sight. Victoria was

circling Trevor, flirting and fussing around with him. Selena recalled the days when she was Trevor's sweetheart. She'd go around messing with him like that too. She'd yank his arm and he'd carry her like a spoiled child.

Selena tore the newspaper as she grunted with rage, "Shame on her! Shame on them!"
