Your Guise Is Slipping, Miss Pearl

Chapter 1260

Chapter 1260

Pearl received a phone call from the factory just as she was about to focus on something else.

She was in the middle of testing the first samples for her new drug research, and everything had to go perfectly. If there were any mistakes, it would damage their reputation far more than just a minor setback. "Miss Pearl, something's wrong! Something bad happened!" the voice on the other end exclaimed. Pearl's ongoing worry had just turned into a real problem. She stood up quickly and asked, "What's wrong?"

"When I went to check on our products at the factory today, I discovered everything was destroyed. I talked to the factory staff, and they were clueless. They said everything was fine the last time they checked early this morning. They can't explain why everything's ruined now.'

Pearl frowned. "Calm down. I'm coming over to check it out."

Luckily, they hadn't shipped the products yet. Releasing damaged goods could have caused a huge mess.

Pearl threw on a jacket and drove to the factory in the suburbs. It took her only half an hour to get there from her company.

Upon arriving, Pearl saw her secretary, Ava Dickinson, waiting anxiously at the entrance, tears streaming down her face.

"What happened? Why are you crying?" Pearl asked.

"All the samples are destroyed,' Ava sobbed.

Keeping her composure, Pearl asked, "Do you think someone did this on purpose?"

"Yes, but whoever did it was very sneaky. We can't find any evidence.'

"There's really no evidence?" Pearl pressed.

"Yeah, they must have worn gloves and shoe covers. Plus, it happened after midnight when everyone had left. It was quiet, and no one was around to see anything."

The factory's remote location made it even easier for someone to tamper with the products without being noticed.

Pearl handed Ava a tissue. "Listen, it's not your fault, and you haven't neglected your duties. You shouldn't blame yourself. Please, stop crying."Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Ava took the tissue and thanked her. Pearl suggested she rest in the car because she looked unwell.

Pearl then entered the factory alone, where a group of people, including the factory supervisor, were already gathered, waiting for her.

As soon as Pearl approached, the supervisor, who looked both nervous and guilty, blurted out, "I'm so sorry, Miss Pearl."

Pearl remained calm. "Is there any surveillance footage? Was the incident caught on camera?"

The supervisor seemed uncomfortable. "We tried to check, but there was a power outage last night. The cameras didn't record anything."

Pearl raised an eyebrow. "A power outage? Just last night? That seems too coincidental."

"Yes, I know it sounds suspicious, but that's the truth," the supervisor insisted.

Pearl signaled for him to relax, noticing his anxious demeanor. "Show me the damaged products."

The supervisor carefully presented a bottle of medicine. "See, it's sealed with a cork. It looks like someone might have used a syringe to tamper with it."

Pearl frowned. "Why did you use corks for the initial samples?"

The supervisor stammered briefly, his face showing embarrassment as he prepared to explain.
