Chapter 1287 Did Not Eat Enough

“I've eaten, but I'm hungry again.” Jasper patted his stomach, grinning at Kingsley.

Kingsley was torn between amusement and exasperation. But in the end, he agreed to take them out for a late-night snack.

The six kids followed the three adults to Supper Town for a late-night meal, attracting quite a bit of attention. Some even took out their phones to take pictures.

“Please, everyone, be understanding and don't take pictures!”

Ethen was very alert and shielded the kids behind him. Seeing this, Shaun and Kingsley also shielded the kids, preventing others from taking pictures. They found a quiet corner.

“Mr. Watts, if we get caught on camera and Dad sees it, he'll definitely not let you off the hook!” Gavin looked at Kingsley with a serious face and reminded the latter.

A twitch tugged at the corner of Kingsley's mouth as he quickly scanned the room. “No one else is taking pictures!”

These people were quite cooperative. However, although they weren't taking pictures, many still stared at the kids.

Once the late-night snacks were served, the six kids dug in heartily. Unexpectedly, at this moment, Arissa called.

Gavin glanced around at everyone, whispering, “Mommy's calling!”

“Hurry up and answer it, or Mommy will worry about us!” Tim glanced at Gavin, then looked at Gavin's phone again.

“Just answer the call. Don't switch on the video mode. If you do, Mommy will immediately see that we're still outside!” Zachary reminded Gavin.

Gavin nodded. He only answered the phone and held it to his ear. “Mommy...”

Oliver, Jasper, and Jesse tactfully lowered their eating noises, their eyes fixated on Gavin.

Even Ethen, Kingsley, and Shaun were all eating cautiously, not saying a word.

“Sweetheart, have you arrived home? Have you taken a shower yet?” Arissa calculated the time. It was about time for the kids to be home and done with their showers. However, she hadn't received their usual goodnight call. So, she decided to make the call herself.

“We haven't taken a shower yet. Mr. Watts bought us late-night snacks. We're eating them now!” Gavin picked just a part of the current situation to report to her without mentioning that they hadn't returned home yet.

“You didn't get enough to eat during dinner? Well, once you're done eating, hurry up and take a shower, then rest! Don't stay up too late!” Arissa thought they were at home, so she didn't pay much attention to the other talking voices she heard. She just gave a few reminders.

“Got it, Mommy. We'll go to take a shower and sleep after we finish eating. You should also go to bed

early. Don't worry about us!” Gavin obediently replied without exposing the truth.

The others were quietly eating their food. Upon hearing this, Tim and the other four children leaned closer to Gavin, then called out to Arissa on the phone. “Goodnight, Mommy!”

Arissa heard the voices of all the children without missing a single one. A gentle smile played on her lips, her face full of affection. “Goodnight, my sweethearts!”

As soon as she finished speaking, Gavin hung up the phone before Arissa did, leaving her momentarily stunned.

Seeing Arissa still holding her phone and spacing out, Benjamin raised an eyebrow and asked, “What's wrong?”

“It's nothing,” Arissa looked up at him and whispered, “Gavin hung up the phone before I did!”

He responded, “You've all said goodnight. What else should he do if not hang up the phone? Keep chatting with you?”

Arissa gave him a glare before putting down her phone and went to sleep.

As a result, she wasn't sure if it was because she heard her son mention a late-night snack, or something else, but she felt her stomach growl with hunger.

She turned aside to look at Benjamin—who was still working—and called out softly. “Benjamin!”

“Hmm?” Benjamin didn't lift his head, continuing with his work.

“Are you hungry?” Arissa asked with a radiant smile, gazing at his handsome profile.

Benjamin turned his head, looking straight at her. “Are you hungry?”

Arissa chuckled dryly. “It seems like I didn't eat enough tonight!”

Benjamin set aside what he was doing and got up to come over.

“What would you like to eat?” He picked up the car keys that were placed aside, ready to head out.
