Chapter 1282 Ethen Gets Tricked And Punished

By the time Ethen arrived at the hospital, Benjamin, Arissa, and the kids had already begun eating.

“Ethen, have you had dinner? If not, would you like to join us?” Arissa expressed.

“I'll eat later!” Seeing that the family was already digging in, Ethen felt embarrassed.

“Is something the matter?” Benjamin spared the former a glance and asked.

Ethen flashed an awkward smile and then turned to look at Zachary. However, the boy ignored him and concentrated on eating. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

The other five kids did the same. Only Tim and Jesse snuck some glances at Ethen.

“It's nothing. I'm just here to visit Mrs. Graham!”

Touched, Arissa gestured for Ethen to join them for dinner. However, he shook his head and politely declined, “No, it's fine, Mrs. Graham. I'm not hungry yet!”

There's no feast at all. Zachary got me good.

Ethen cautiously observed Benjamin's expression. The kids must've tricked me into coming here because Mr. Graham wants to punish them. With that in mind, he naturally dared not sit down for dinner without Benjamin giving the green light.

“You guys continue with your dinner. I'm going to find Mr. Bailey!” Ethen found an excuse and left the ward.

Meanwhile, Shaun was in his office when he spotted Ethen's arrival. Doubtlessly, he was a little surprised.

He adjusted his glasses and teased, “What brings you here to visit me?”

Shaun fixed his mischievous gaze on Ethen. Curiosity filled him as he noticed how dispirited the latter looked.

Ethen let out a sigh and settled down on a chair. “I thought I'd get to eat a feast, but in the end, I got tricked.”

Shaun chuckled. “Who tricked you?”

Ethen looked at him and heaved another sigh. “I only have myself to blame. I thought Mr. Graham wouldn't punish the kids, but who knows? I miscalculated. So Oliver tricked me into coming here to be punished with them.”

Shaun did not know what exactly happened and curiously tried to probe further. “Why did Benjamin punish the kids?”

Ethen then began to recount everything to Shaun. Upon learning what happened, the latter gaped in astonishment and was full of admiration for the kids.

“Julian and Justin deserve to be taught a lesson. Gavin and the other kids did it right. Why would Benjamin want to punish them? Isn't it too much?”

Ethen nodded in agreement. “He's too much!”

Well, if Benjamin was in front of him there and then, he would never dare nod his head so readily.

On the other side, Benjamin gave the six kids a look after dinner. “Do you guys still remember what I told you?”

The kids gazed at him, then sheepishly put down the fruit in their hands, not daring to eat anymore.

“Yes!” Gavin responded softly.

After saying that, he obediently led his siblings to a corner to serve their punishment.

Ethen returned at the perfect time and stood outside the ward. Seeing the kids stand at one corner to serve their punishment, he quickly entered.

“Mr. Graham, why don't you take Mrs. Graham for a stroll in the garden? I'll keep an eye on them!”

Benjamin glanced at Ethen without saying anything, then turned back to Arissa and asked, “Shall we go for a walk?”

Looking at the kids, Arissa knew their punishment would go on for some time. Worried that her heart may softened, she eventually agreed to going for a walk with Benjamin.

After the couple left, Ethen hastily stood beside the kids. “I'm sorry, kids!” he apologized as his survival instincts kicked in.

The six little ones snorted in unison and did not converse with him.

Ethen peeked at them timidly and quietly continued to serve his punishment.

“Are you guys tired?” Ethen broke his silence after standing for thirty minutes.

“Duh!” Jasper retorted.

“Why don't I let you off the hook for a bit so you all can take a break?” Ethen felt sorry and could not bear to watch the angelic-looking kids getting punished.

“If Daddy finds out, we'll be in more trouble!” Gavin glared at him. It was clear the boy no longer believed the latter.

Those words silenced Ethen. Indeed. That would definitely be the case if Mr. Graham finds out they are slacking.

Gavin directed his gaze toward Zachary and the rest. “Can you all still hang in there?”

“I can!” Tim nodded. He often did chores and was used to standing for long hours. Hence, an hour, to him, was no problem at all.

“We can, too!” Zachary replied. Mommy always punishes us when we do something wrong in the past. We've gotten used to standing at attention.
