Chapter 1264 Even The House Cannot Stand Him

Benjamin sat on the edge of the bed and pinched Arissa's cheek. “Shall we get you into the shower?”

Glancing at him, she could not help thinking that it was getting late. “Carry me in. I can wash up by myself.”

He stared at her steadily, his gaze dark and unfathomable. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

After a while, he finally lifted her into his arms and headed to the bathroom.

She stared at him speechlessly as he immediately helped her undress and shower, but seeing how serious he looked, she did not protest.

By the time he finished helping her wash up, he had also gotten quite wet.

Wrapped in a bathrobe, she said, “You should hurry up and shower, too.”

Benjamin swept his gaze over her, then answered gently, “I'll help you get dressed first.”

“There's no need for that. I can do it myself.” Stretching out her arms, Arissa waited for him to carry her.

He tidied the bathroom, bent forward and carried her out of the bathroom, then set her down on the bed. After that, he turned and went to get her clothes.

She took the clothes before urging him, “Quick, go for a shower. You wouldn't want to catch a cold.”

“Are you sure you can get dressed by yourself?” he asked, glancing at her.

She nodded. “Of course. Go on, then.”

He drew the cubicle curtains closed and reminded her, “Call for me if you need anything.”

“Okay, I understand.” She nodded, then proceeded to get dressed.

Only then did Benjamin grab his pajamas and head off to take a shower.

After Arissa was done, she lay down on the bed and made a phone call to Bradley. After Arissa was done, she lay down on the bed and made a phone call to Bradley.

It rang for a while before he finally picked up. Instantly, she heard the din on his end. “Bradley, where are you?”

“I'm outside getting something to eat, Boss!” he answered loudly since it was so noisy around him.

“You're eating late. What did you do today?” she asked casually.

He gave an awkward chuckle. “I slept late last night, and it was nearly nighttime when I finally woke up.”

“Didn't you come to visit me in the morning?” she asked, confused.

“Oh, right. I went to the hospital in the morning, but Mr. Graham said you were still asleep, so I didn't want to go in and disturb you. I've been sleeping since I got back. Boss, is there anything I can do for you?”

Arissa laughed. “That's all right. I just called to check on you because I didn't see you. Oh, right. Now that I'm hospitalized, I don't have time to look after Gavin and the others. If you're free, please help me to take care of them. You can eat and stay together with them. There's no need for you to go out and eat.”

Bradley enjoyed spending time with the children, and he agreed readily. “I'll go over and check on them in a while, so don't worry. They have Mdm. Mary and Old Mr. Graham looking after them too.”

“Sure. However, I was just on the phone with them earlier, and I think they've gone to bed,” she cautioned.

“Got it. I'll be careful not to wake them.” Afraid that she would worry, he added, “I'll take a video for you to see when I get there.”

“Okay,” she answered with a smile. After exchanging a few more words, she ended the call.

Still holding her phone, she was scrolling through it aimlessly when she suddenly saw a news article reporting that Justin's house had collapsed.

Arissa could not help feeling somewhat perplexed.

She thought that perhaps it was an old article, but upon checking when it had been published and confirming that it was very recent, she was utterly stunned.

“Talk about a cursed house. How can the same thing happen twice in less than a month?”

“What's cursed?” Benjamin asked. Having just finished his shower, he rubbed his hair dry while walking to the bed.

The fragrance lingering on his body from the shower wafted toward her, and she could smell that it was the same scent as hers. She could not resist smiling while breathing in deeply. Then, she looked up at him and replied, “Justin's house is in shambles again.”

Arching a brow, he leaned forward to take a look at the article and saw that what she said was true.

A gleam flashed in his eyes, and he looked surprised. Could it be Ethen's doing?

With a straight face, he said calmly, “Perhaps even the house can't stand him.”

Arissa could not stop herself from bursting into laughter. I never thought he'd be one to crack a joke like that!

“You might as well say it's karma,” she said in an amused tone.

“Pretty much,” he responded with a nod of his head.
