Chapter 159
Chapter 159
Coralie Chariott stood still as she tried to examine the inside of the car carefully. It was undeniable that
the woman sitting in the passenger seat was very good-looking.
After a moment of intimacy, the two separated. Then, the woman got out of the car and walked toward
Coralie.
However, the two of them did not know each other. Thus, the woman did not show any unnatural
expression when she walked past Coralie.
However, it was different with Anthony Holland. His expression grew downright aghast when he saw
Coralie.
Coralie was familiar with the expression on his face. When she found out about Howard and Alison's
affair, Howard wore the same mold.
It was a guilty expression.
Coralie seemed to have thought of something. She smiled at Anthony, and she pretended to be
nonchalant and walked toward the subway station.
However, Anthony drove to her side. Coralie was not surprised when she greeted him, "President
Holland."
Ever since Anthony expressed his stand that day, she no longer referred to him as Uncle Holland.
"You just..."
"President Holland, I didn't see anything."
Of course, Coralie knew what Anthony was going to say. She deliberately said so, but her fake
nonchalant expression had explained everything.
At this moment, a train of thoughts was racing through Coralie's mind. If she were to take advantage of
this matter, it would definitely come in handy in the future.
Although it was immoral to do so, he was the one who cheated.
Coralie loathed men who had affairs behind their partners' backs.
However, when Anthony heard this, his face fell. He said to Coralie, "You should know what you should
and shouldn't do, right?"
"President Holland, I'm not sure."
Coralie's expression was faint, and it seemed that she didn't think it was a big deal.
She wanted Anthony's weakness to be played into her hands.
Perhaps she could make use of this trump card someday in the future.
"Miss Chariott, I didn't expect you to be so stupid."
Anthony got out of the car and stood in front of Coralie.
He was just a little taller than Coralie. When he looked at her, his gaze was not friendly at all.
"I don't think there are stupid people in this world."
In fact, Coralie didn't know if she should negotiate with Anthony, but she possessed no other
bargaining chip at the moment.
If Skylar were to fight with his family for their relationship, Coralie would be nothing but a burden.
She hoped to get her hands on something she could utilize, a bargaining chip.
"What do you want?"
Anthony did not beat around the bush.
He wasn't planning to stay long at H country, so he didn't think it was a big deal to bring Evelyn
Simpson with him. He didn't expect Coralie to catch him in the act just as he was planning to leave the
country. He could only blame himself for his unfortunate luck.
"I..."
"Keep this matter to yourself. I can grant you a request for this, but don't even think about marrying
Skylar."
Anthony had laid his patriarch authority before Coralie could even speak.
He was quicker to reject before she could come clean with her wants. Indeed, she wanted nothing
more but for Anthony to greenlight her marriage with Skylar.
"Why?"
"If other people were to know about my affair, it will only bring me inconsequential troubles. However, if
you marry my son, it will bring immeasurable harm to the Holland group."
Anthony spoke his mind clearly.
As he saw, children from poor families like Coralie would never understand the benefits of political
marriages between rich people. Therefore, he felt it was necessary to give her a brief comprehension
of it.
"Let me think about it."
Coralie said. Just now, she was too eager with her plan to threaten Anthony into agreeing to her
marriage to Skylar.
However, now it seemed to be indeed, unrealistic.
"Sure, Miss Chariott. You have to remember that I am a businessman and everything I do hinges on
the principle of cost-effective."
"I see."
After listening to Coralie's words, Anthony gave her a business card and left.
Coralie looked at the translucent gold-rimmed business card in her hand, lost in her thoughts.
......
On the second day after having packed her things up from the company, Coralie went to the factory
and reported to her new job.
The benefit of this factory was that it only took six stops from her home by bus.
However, when Coralie got out of the bus station and stared at the barren land around her, she was
surprised. She had always known that this place was dilapidated, but it was worse than she had
imagined.
Coralie followed along with the navigation address and arrived at the Southern Court Warehouse. The
factory was also in tatters. According to her colleagues, this was Skyton Corporation's very first factory.
It looked like an abandoned building.
When she arrived at the door of the factory, a man known as Uncle Victor asked her, "Hey girl, what are
you doing here?"
"Hello, sir. I'm an accountant reporting for work today. My name is Coralie Chariott."
Coralie put away her mobile phone and replied Uncle Victor politely.
"Reporting for work? An accountant?" Uncle Victor laughed and said, "This factory has not operated for
a long time. We don't need an accountant."
"Then... are you the only one here?"
Coralie looked at the man of about 60 years old, with his hair and beard colored white.
"No, there are two people in charge of the factory, but the factory no longer operates. Hence, they
seldom come."
......
Uncle Victor looked at Coralie, a young lady who was dressed neatly in clean clothes. He asked, "Girl,
the people who are guarding the factory are all in their fifties. We're craning our necks at our retirement
now, why are you transferred here? You're such a young girl."
"Something happened..."
Coralie didn't know what to say. It was complicated.
"Alright, every big company is complicated," Uncle Victor came out of the house and said, "Let's go. I'll
take you to the office, but there's no one there. In the future, you may come here whenever you want
to. And if you have some other matters to attend to, you may leave at any time too. It doesn't matter."
As he said this, he took a bunch of keys and led Coralie to the office.
Coralie saw that the factory was clasped in rusted chains. It was obvious that it had not been unlocked
for a long time, and weeds were climbing profusely at the surroundings.
Coralie followed him to a two-story building. Uncle Victor opened the door and said, "This is the office
area. It is relatively remote here and there is no heating, but there is a fan heater over there. Feel free
to use it."
"Thank you."
Then, he removed a key from the key bunch and handed it to Coralie before leaving.
Coralie put down the bag and saw a car zooming into the factory.
It was a middle-aged man who was driving the car. He seemed to be in his fifties. He got out of the car
and strode into the office. He pointed at Coralie and asked, "You are the new accountant named
Coralie, aren't you?"
"I am." NôvelDrama.Org content.
"I am Jackson, the Managing Chief here. I just received a notice that the superiors will be here next
Monday for an inspection. You are responsible for cleaning the factory. Do you hear me?"
Jackson stood there with his hands on his hips, waiting for Coralie's reply.
"Do I have to clean up on my own? Where should I clean?"
The factory was huge. There were 34 plants. At first glance, it was obvious that it had not been used for
a long time. The weeds were overgrown and there was bird dung everywhere. In other words, it was
going to be a laborious task.
