Chapter 96 Your Husband Can Pay For You

Chapter 96 Your Husband Can Pay For You

At the boundary of the city, Claudia had been waiting at the entrance of Wroclaw Sanatorium for a long

time.

Irritated by her message, Blair got in the car immediately and headed to the sanatorium at full speed.

Then, a car stopped at the sanatorium and it was Blair who stepped out of the car. She glared at

Claudia with anger and resentment. If she could, she would tear Claudia apart right now.

To her surprise, Claudia had Kim by her side.

Since she couldn’t speak, she brought Kim here to speak for her.

“Stop playing charades, Claudia. You are the one who has been scheming again the Evans Group and

Eric, aren’t you?”

Claudia looked at her indifferently.

Blair was behaving just as she expected and didn’t surprise her at all.

“Do you have any evidence for that?” Kim retorted.

“She is the only person that knows much about my family! That’s the evidence!” Blair looked at her

angrily.

“Well, but why don’t you suspect anyone else? Besides, if you do have the evidence, you can just hand

it to the police and sue her.”

Kim said it in a peaceful tone, but Blair was annoyed by her.

“You…”

She pointed at Kim and then turned to Claudia, “I raised you up just like a mother bringing up her own

kid, and now you are doing all of these to your family! You ungrateful bastard!”

Blair was so mad that she even scolded her with obscenity.

Claudia didn’t care about it and said in sigh language, “Where is my mother?”

“Do you want Ann?” Blair laughed, “Why should I give Ann to you? You have caused so much damage

to my family and now you want to get Ann from me? Go to hell!”

Then, Blair turned around and walked to the car.

But Kim stopped her swiftly and said, “Please be reasonable, Mrs. Evans. Claudia only wants her

mother back. That’s a normal request! You don’t want to get into a court case just because of this, do

you?’

“What do you mean?!” Blair was shocked.

Kim said slowly and steadily, “Now that the Evans Group is in a mess and the chairman and vice

president are in jail, you must be busying in dealing with the shareholders and the bank with no extra

time and effort for a court case. Therefore, we decide to make allowance for you and offer you a

chance to alleviate your burden.”

Though they caused all the things secretly behind the scene, their words were high-sounding.

Blair laughed coldly, “Alleviate my burden? Sounds good, but what’s in it for me to release Ann?”

Blair had been keeping Ann in her hands just for controlling Claudia.

If she released Ann, she would lose her bargaining chip and couldn’t threaten Claudia anymore. That

was not what she wanted!

Claudia looked at her calmly and said in sign language, “So what kind of benefits do you want?”

Blair smiled with scorn and looked at Claudia up and down, resisting to believe that it was this mute

who brought chaos to the company and put Eric in jail.

But she knew it was real.

Thinking for a minute, Blair said, “If you promise me that you will let Eric be discharged soon and

restore the company, I will give Ann to you.”

“Even if the Evans Group is restored after the scandals, it will go bankrupt sooner or later according to

its circumstances,” Claudia said in gestures.

Blair didn’t know much about the company before, but now she realized that it was not that easy to

clear up the mess.

After weighing her options, she said, “How about this. You give me 150 million dollars, and I will leave

this place with Amber after releasing Ann.”

A billion dollars.

Kim shrugged and laughed, “What? Are you crazy?”

She just wanted to make a fast buck before running away. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

Unlike Kim, Claudia remained her poker face, “I don’t have so much money, Mrs. Evans. Maybe we

can stop testing each other and make the negotiation pragmatic. If it’s acceptable for you to release my

mom, we can still talk about it.”

But Blair didn’t have much of a choice right now.

“Your husband can pay for you! It’s kind of his responsibility to ransom his mother-in-law, right?”

It sounded quite reasonable for Kim.

But before she could say anything, Claudia made the gestures, “Let’s see. If you sell all your stocks,

your cars, and your estates, you can have over ten million dollars available, which is enough for you to

live the rest of your life, right?”

Blair was surprised. How did Claudia know she had been purchasing these properties and the shares

of the Evans secretly?

“I’m giving the best offer to you!” Claudia said in gestures.

Blair burst into laughs with scorn and mockery.

“Are you threatening me, Claudia? What can you do to me if I refuse to release Ann?” she asked

rhetorically.

Claudia looked at her and sighed.

She once thought Blair had known her position after all of these, but it seemed like she didn’t learn

anything.

“If I can’t see my mom today, all the shareholders and the bank will come to you tomorrow morning,

and new incriminating evidence will be sent to the police office, which may make the final judgment

much tougher for Eric,” Claudia replied.

Kim chimed in, “If you want it, we will give it to you. You can take your time and think about it, but we

have to leave now.”

Then, she held Claudia’s arm and walked to the car.

Blair was standing there in a blank. She knew clearly that if she left Eric behind and ran away to

another country, the money she had was not enough for her to spend for several years, and if she

stayed, the company…”

“Wait! Don’t go!”

Blair said reluctantly and helplessly.

“Don’t you think I surrender to you even though I release Ann! I will bear the grudge until the day I can

revenge!”

Then, Blair walked past Claudia, hit her shoulder on purpose, and entered the sanatorium.

After a while, two staff members came out with an old woman in a wheelchair. It was Ann.

She finally saw her mother once again.

Claudia couldn’t hold her tears any longer and cried.
