Worship The Ground You Walk On

Chapter 33 That's Horrible

Chapter 33 That's Horrible

Claudia felt as if a century had passed. She was curled up in a corner of the big bed with a pale face.

Unlike before, after having sex with her, he didn't avoid her as quickly and disgustingly as he had

avoided garbage.

He took a shower and came out of the dressing room. Then he stood casually on the edge of the bed,

arranging his clothes. He lowered his eyes. He buttoned his shirt cuffs as he stared at Claudia with

contempt.

Perhaps because of the light from the bedroom lamp, his expressionless handsome face looked very

scary and eerie.

After a long time, he wanted to say something. He slightly opened his cold lips. He looked at Claudia

with gloomy eyes.

Ben looked at her. However, he paused and somehow held his tongue in the end.

His fierce gaze swept over every inch of her body. Her snow-white skin was covered with light and

heavy bruises. He gazed at her and abruptly curled his lips into a sneer.

His laugh was short and sounded a bit mocking.

At the same time, the imperceptible and complex look in his eyes was soon replaced by an indifferent

look. In the end, he did not say a word, just straightened his clothes, turned around, and left the

bedroom.

As the door closed, Claudia's long, slender eyelashes fluttered. She poked her little head out from

under the quilt.

She barely managed to support her very sore body and struggled to sit up. Then she got out of bed and

picked up the medical report from the floor.

This seemingly simple move took almost all of her remaining strength. She leaned weakly against the

head of the bed. Her eyes darkened as she looked at the diagnosis in the results column on the sheet.

The next day, after the morning meeting, Nate knocked on the door, entered the CEO's office, and

handed Ben a few documents.

Ben skimmed through them and quickly signed each one of them.

Nate took away the documents and just turned around when he heard his boss's mellow voice behind

him.

“Wait!”

He stopped in his tracks and turned around, “Yes, sir?”

“Send someone to check out her daily necessities. And investigate the others around that person.”

The instant Ben's voice broke off, Nate was surprised and momentarily confused. Then he asked one

more question, “That person?”

But as soon as the word was out of his mouth, Nate knew it!

He thought who else but his wife could be the person his boss mentioned?

“Yes, sir.” said Nate, nodding quickly and discreetly.

However, as he walked out the door, Nate wondered how Mrs. Crawford could have contracted such a

strange disease when she had always been so prim and proper and had so little contact with others.

He thought it was unbelievable, but now it seemed to him that his boss had thought about the same

thing.

Ben got up and paced to the French window. The dazzling sunshine outside the window enveloped

him. His eyes were inscrutable and looked as deep as the ocean. And his eyes looked so complex that

it was hard for others to guess.

At the Crawford mansion, Winifred's sudden arrival caught Claudia off guard.

From the moment she entered the door, Winifred's gloomy face made her look like a bloodthirsty

demon from hell. And she didn't even look at Claudia, who came to greet her. She only coldly

instructed her secretary, “Go get Conrad for me!” Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

He nodded and walked straight upstairs.

Claudia was slightly stunned. Winifred's stern rebuke came to her ears, “I can't believe that you're such

a flirtatious slut even if you can't talk at all!”

“How can you get STD? Claudia, you're really something! Who gave it to you? It seems that you're not

satisfied being Ben's wife!”

Every word she spoke was like a poisoned knife. Then she poked its sharp edge on Claudia's heart,

leaving her wound dripping with blood.

“If there's something you're not happy about, you say so! No one is begging for you to stay with us. If

you don't want to stay, get out now!”

“I don't want the Crawford Group's reputation to be ruined by you. Claudia, you'd better behave

yourself!”

Claudia was amazed that Winifred kept berating her. Her secretary came downstairs with Conrad in his

arms. The baby was still asleep and slept soundly in that man's arms.

As soon as Winifred saw her grandson, she became less hostile. Then she went forward and gently

took the baby from the secretary's hand, “My dear grandson, come and let grandma hold you...”

Conrad was completely immersed in sleep. Even though he was being held in Winifred's arms, he had

his little eyes closed, who looked even cuter with a slight clicking of her little tongue.

Winifred cared so much about her grandson. She stroked the child's little cheek and said softly, “Come

home with Grandma. My dear grandson...”

Just as she said that, before Claudia put on a surprised look on her face, Winifred had already turned

her eyes to her and said coldly, “Starting today, I'm taking Conrad away from you!”

Then, disregarding Claudia's opinion and attitude, Winifred turned around and walked out, holding

Conrad in her arms.

Claudia quickly chased after her. Before she could catch up with Winifred, she was stopped by her

secretary.

Winifred's secretary was a middle-aged man who looked quite amiable. He nodded respectfully to

Claudia and said lightly, “Mrs. Crawford, you'd better stop chasing so as not to annoy her. And you...”

The secretary didn't finish his sentence and deliberately drawled, but Claudia knew exactly what he

wanted to say to her.

If Claudia pissed off Winifred, it would be bad for her.

“Mrs. Crawford, you'd better get treatment as soon as possible!” He gave her a deep look and turned to

leave.

Claudia stopped at the foyer. As she watched the Maybach drive away, she felt her heart was heavy, as

if the iron lead had poured on it.

In the dining room in the distance, the housekeeper and the nanny were whispering. Although they only

said a few words in a slightly lower voice, Claudia still could hear their conversation.

“STD? Oh my God! It can't be that kind of disease!”

“I don't think so. And Mr. Crawford seemed to sleep with her last night!” said the nanny.

The housekeeper looked suspicious, “How do you know?”

“When I cleaned up the bedroom in the morning, I felt it. And the room was a mess, and the sheets...”

Because they both experienced before, the housekeeper seemed to understand her words. He then

pushed the nanny with his hand, “You keep an eye on your own things from now on. And keep your

stuff and hers all separate in case she infects us. Otherwise, that would be horrible!”

“That's right! That's horrible!”

...

Hearing these words, she could feel their dislike for her without looking at their expressions. Claudia

quickly grabbed her coat and handbag. Every step she took outside was like walking on the tip of a

knife, and it hurt like hell.

She had to go to the hospital. And she had to find out what the hell was going on!

Just as she stepped out of the villa, a red convertible sports car came up behind her at breakneck

speed. And it swished to a stop in front of Claudia.

Amber was sitting in the car and wearing a pair of cool and big sunglasses. Her sexy red lips curled

into a cold smile. The moment Amber said those words, it shocked Claudia.

“You're going to the hospital, right?”

“How is it? Do you feel comfortable after having an infectious disease?”

Claudia was suddenly stunned. As expected, as she suspected, Amber was the one behind the

scheme!

“Don't bother going to the hospital. It's nothing serious. And you'll be fine in a few days!” Amber knew

very well that she had only tampered with the skincare product.

The product would only cause a few skin rashes, which were minor issues and not contagious to

others.

However, the most important reason Amber did all this was not to give Claudia this disease but to

spread the rumors.

Looking at Claudia's grim face, Amber felt more pleased. She took off her sunglasses and said coldly,

“You can't blame me for that! You’re a failure. You could only blame your husband and your mother-in-

law for not being willing to stand up for you and trust you...”

Amber's words and her sneering voice lingered in Claudia's ears. Watching the sports car driving away

quickly, Claudia clenched her slender fingers tightly into a fist bit by bit.
