Chapter 9
“If she hadn’t swapped my daughter back then, I wouldn’t have been alone all these years,” she claimed.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
“But seeing that Sofia grew up well, I was willing to let it go,” she said.
“I never expected that she would try to take the inheritance Mason left for Sofia,” she accused.
Some sensible people said, “But that money was meant for his daughter.”
Mila responded smoothly, “In Mason’s eyes, Sofia was his biological daughter. I’m sure if he were still alive, he wouldn’t go back on that.”
“Besides, Sofia is the only descendant of the Jones family. Should that money really fall into the hands of an outsider like her?” she argued.
“And that money can only be used by Sofia. Yet she’s hiding the bank card and won’t hand it over. How sinister,” she added.
Over the years, with their diligent efforts, my image had been thoroughly tarnished.
But I wasn’t in a hurry.
I listened to her criticize me, trying to stir up the crowd to force me to hand over the money. Instead, I felt quite pleased.
The more she said now, the more it would hurt when she got slapped in the face later.
I glanced at the half–open door and calculated that it was about time.
With a loud “bang.”
A burly, tattooed man stood at the door, hitting it with a stick.
“You filthy bitch! I spent six years in prison, and you only visited me twice. You sure had a good time,” he shouted.
