When I Met You

Chapter 5 Raise your Head, Look at me

Chapter 5 Raise your Head, Look at me

Susan didn’t look upwards and meet Jarvis in his eyes. Instead, she was just trying to pry her arm

away from his grip.

There were people constantly streaming through the hospital so she didn’t want to cause any ruckus

here and be the focus of attention.

However, Jarvis was holding on to her with great strength, which rendered her efforts to pry free futile.

Seeing that there were more and more people around them, Jarvis was able to react very quickly, as

he suddenly pulled Susan into his embrace and together they hid in a room next to the elevator.

At that time, the deputy dean was following by Jarvis side. When he saw what happened, he hurriedly

disperse the medical personnel originally in the room and shut the door. Only Jarvis and Susan were

left in that room.

“Raise up your head, and look at me!”

Jarvis was almost ordering Susan now, and there was a hint of resentment in his voice.

Susan continued to clutch the edges of her shirt. This was her usual gesture when she was nervous.

Seeing that Susan didn’t answer him, Jarvis directly pinched her chin and jerked her face up so that

they were looking face to face.

Susan stared at Jarvis’ face and recalled how familiar she was with this face and how many times she

had imagined his face in her mind. She loved him, she hated him, and later on, as she slowly get used

to acting like a couple with Edward, she slowly erased him from the vestiges of her mind.

However… only now did she realize that she was wrong about that.

She got rid of Jarvis’ hand and averted her gaze. She greeted him in a sarcastic tone, “Professor

Jarvis.”

Jarvis looked at Susan in amusement as he questioned her, “Why didn’t you wait for me that day?”

Susan chuckled upon hearing that question. She looked upwards at Jarvis with a solemn expression,

“Who was the one who didn’t wait for the other? Who was the one flying all the way to America?”

“Why didn’t you appear on that day?”

Jarvis asked another question instead. His eyes were burning with a silent flame which showed that he

was angry about something.

On the other hand, Susan was able to regain her calmness very soon.

Why didn’t she appear? She wanted to appear in front of him at that time… the problem was, she didn’t

even know where he was.

Why didn’t she wait for him?

The person who had disappeared was him in the first place.

Back then, she had tried very hard just to be with him. She really loved him very much…

However, Susan didn’t want to say anything anymore at the moment. What use could there be to drag

on this conversation? She didn’t even want to mention about how his mother had told her the truth in

the rain, and how she had expelled her from the medical industry. She didn’t want to bring any of that Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

up anymore.

It was meaningless, simply. There was no use to say anything now. Who could return her her initially

bright future in the medical field? Who could make her feel hopeful towards life again? Who could make

her regain her innocence again?

“It wouldn’t make any difference whether I appear or not at that time.”

Susan waved the watch strapped to her wrist and checked the time, “It is already seven fifty now. In ten

more minutes, you need to give a seminar, Professor Jarvis. Please get ready now.”

As she finished her last words, she turned around and was about to leave.

However, the moment she opened the door, Jarvis suddenly began behind her, “When I was studying

in America, my major was cranial nerve resuscitation. Do you know why I choose to master this?”

Susan’s hand which was about to turn the door knob suddenly froze.

This was precisely the major she wanted to venture into. If she were to master this field, she would be

able to resuscitate her mother.

“In my opinion, this is a field with bright future ahead, Professor Jarvis. You have chosen the right field,

and I’m sure you will be able to help those in need with your expertise.”

After saying that, she immediately left without looking back.

Damn it.

By the time Susan exited the hospital, she discovered that it was drizzling. She hated rain the most,

because it would remind her of that rainy night all those years ago.

She wanted to vent her frustrations somewhere, but she didn’t know where to go.

In the end, she hailed a taxi and returned to Edward’s villa.

As expected, Edward was nowhere to be seen when she reached home.
