Unrivaled Dragon Lord

Chapter 41: Can’t Avoid What Will Coming!

Chapter 41: Can’t Avoid What Will Coming!

There was a crisp slapping sound that reverberated across the whole building. After that, there was

only silence.

A red shoe-shaped imprint appeared on President Gerald’s face after a towering figure lashed out with

great force, leaving President Gerald’s face sore and swollen.

The towering figure lashed out again, and President Gerald was able to grab that incoming thing as he

squinted his eyes… There was a cold glint flashing across his eyes.

This was a slipper, and a dirty one at that. He could even smell the foul stench given off by it!

President Gerald stretched out his hand and touched his face. He immediately felt some dirt on his

face. When he checked properly, it seemed that the sole of that slipper had some animal faeces

attached to it…

President Gerald’s body shook violently as a smouldering anger was raring to explode from within!

This was the first time President Gerald had experience such humiliation in the Sandoval Group!

He couldn’t believe that he had been insulted by these two nobodies!

How could he swallow this?

Countless employees who were gathering around them had a shocked expression on their faces. They

didn’t anticipate that Maxwell was so quick on his feet.

He had… hit President Gerald with that slipper.

President Gerald always had a good relationship with the board of directors of the Sandoval Group.

Seeing that Maxwell had exacted violence on President Gerald, despite the fact that he was Greta’s

husband, it would be a tall order for Greta to give an explanation to the board of directors after this.

Was he courting death?

President Gerald raised his head and peeked at Maxwell. Maxwell was barefoot as he loomed over

Gerald with one of his slippers missing.

President Gerald was trembling when he roared, “Fuck you, you are repaying my kindness by hitting

me? I have given you enough face!”

“I am indeed hitting you.” Maxwell replied in a calm tone and his eyes were overflowing with a

murderous gaze. His eyes were dark and depthless.

“You are meeting your end today! Where are the security guards? Where the hell are them?” President

Gerald screamed loudly as if he had lost his mind. In an instant, two security guards rushed over.

“Capture these two bastards. I will make sure they meet their demise here! Otherwise, it will be a total

shame to my name!” President Gerald gritted his teeth and squeezed those words out of his mouth. At

the same time, Harriet was tilting her head and she was studying Maxwell meaningfully.

“You know what to do.” Harriet simply said.

Maxwell cocked his head and a frosty glare became evident in his eyes. The two security guards

stopped short and both of them had terrified expressions.

They had never seen such a terrifying pair of eyes before. They could somehow imagine a bloody

scene after meeting Maxwell’s eyes! If they took a step forward, they had a hunch they would become

part of that bloody scene which would turn into reality!

“Do it!” President Gerald barked, “Do you guys want to get fired?”

“You’re too noisy!” Maxwell replied faintly, “I will never forgive anybody who dares to make a move!”

His words had their intended effect, as those two security guards were in a dilemma. They were having

qualms on whether they should make their move here… After the fiasco last time, the security guards

were well aware of Maxwell’s abilities, and they would never want to offend him a second time.

However, on the other hand, the one giving them the orders was none other than President Gerald of

the Sandoval Group. He was not someone they could afford to offend too. What should they do now?

President Gerald’s pupils contracted visibly… Maxwell looked like he had the upper hand as he was

more intimidating!

“Stop!”

At that moment, a magnetic yet crisp voice sounded, and the crowd automatically gave way to the

source of that voice. At the end of the path, Greta was walking over with the clicking of his high heels

as her long and slender legs were marching towards them with style.

“President Greta.” The employees greeted her politely. She was the gorgeous president of the

Sandoval Group, and nobody within the company was unfamiliar with her.

Greta stopped in a short distance away from them and she scanned the young girl in front of her coldly.

She started, “What’s going on here?”

Greta’s voice was cold yet alluring. It was pleasing to the ears.

Harriet began to chronicle everything from the beginning, and Maxwell suddenly interrupted her, “She

has been pregnant for three months. The baby would definitely be gone if that kick had landed… You

are really good at kicking women. Did you do this all the time, President Gerald?”

Maxwell asked with a menacing tone, and his words invoked a drastic change of expression on the

faces of the employees. They couldn’t believe that President Gerald was such a ruthless person.

Greta couldn’t help but cast a stern glance at President Gerald, “President Gerald, I don’ think it’s

appropriate to mix up your personal life with work, don’t you think so?”

“It’s all because your husband and your so-called best friend decided to stir up some trouble for me. I

have already gotten everything under control, yet they wanted to escalate this matter.” President

Gerald explained.

“She is indeed my best friend who has just returned to Ocean City recently. She has some official

business collaboration with the Sandoval Group currently. Do you have a problem with that, President

Gerald?” Greta raised her eyebrows.

A drastic change of expression occurred on President Gerald’s face. It turned out that this mature and

alluring woman was indeed Greta’s best friend.

To top it off, they had some business collaboration going on. Did he offend her unknowingly?

“President Greta, they are the instigators in this ordeal. I play no part in this at all.” President Gerald

raised his head and an icy glare entered his eyes.

At that moment, Greta was having a stony and hard expression. She could relate to this young girl’s

pain because of their nature as a woman. She almost wanted to kick President Gerald like how

Maxwell had kicked him.

She had long been aware of President Gerald’s antics, but she was not the type to interfere with

somebody’s personal life. However, now that things had gone out of hand, she finally had a reason to

do so.

“President Gerald, do you know that you have caused these employees to delay their work? All

because of this girl. Of course, I will serve them their appropriate punishment since they are the

instigators, but what about you?” Greta said in a cold voice. President Gerald could see where this was

going as his heart sank. She was obviously taking advantage of this situation.

“President Gerald, let me give you a suggestion. I suggest that you resign by your own volition. I will

still reward you with your bonus by year end as compensation.” Greta suggested coldly. She was

disgusted by President Gerald very much, so naturally she wanted him gone as soon as possible from

the Sandoval Group.

The employees who were gathering around secretly thought that President Gerald was finally at the

end of the road here… he had crossed the point of no return after offending every woman here!

It’s not a big deal if he had caused some woman to be pregnant, after all this was still part of his private

life. However, he even wanted to land a kick on that pregnant woman. This was not something anybody

sane would do!

The employees were staring at him in dismay. They thought that President Gerald was reaping what he

had sown! He deserved this treatment!

President Gerald raised his head slowly and there was a grotesque expression on his face. He looked

at Greta with an eerily shuddering look.

“Fine, President Greta. You are decisive enough with your move.” President Gerald gnashed his teeth.

He was living a good life in the Sandoval Group, but now because of Greta, he was going to lose

everything.

Greta had a relaxed expression on her face. She cast a nonchalant glance at him before turning

around to return to her office.

“Greta, you better beware. Once I leave, I will make sure your life becomes miserable!” President

Gerald gnashed his teeth and issued a threat. He was burning with shame as he left the Sandoval

Tower with his tail between his legs.

Greta paused in her tracks as she took in President Gerald’s words, but she immediately resumed her

orderly clicking of her high heels. The sound gradually disappeared.

Maxwell and Harriet helped the young girl to her feet and consoled her. Harriet stuffed tens of

thousands of banknotes into her hands while reminding her to avoid President Gerald. After that, she

ordered someone to send the girl back.

Maxwell followed Greta’s eye-catching back into her office. He could see that her usually perfect

features were punctuated with tinges of sorrow and frustration. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“President Greta, what’s wrong? We have gotten the girl to settle down.” Maxwell lifted a tea pot and

poured Greta a cup of hot tea.

“You don’t know about President Gerald’s origins.” Greta stood up and headed to the floor-to-ceiling

window as she crossed her arms in front of her. She watched the CBD commercial area of the Ocean

City from afar while her insides were troubled.

“What’s so great about his origins?” Maxwell furrowed his eyebrows. At the same time, Harriet entered

the office.

“Greta, you don’t need to worry about anything. His words are just some empty threats.” Harriet

consoled her.

“No,” Greta shook her head, “He’s also part of the Sandoval family. It’s very likely that the Sandoval

Group will have to brace itself for a storm.”

A predicament was brewing over the horizon!

Harriet was mildly surprised. She had never seen Greta put on such a solemn expression.

“The Sandoval family? Isn’t his last name Moore?” Maxwell produced a cigarette and smoked it. He

asked while letting out a wisp of smoke.

“You are all in the dark.” Greta shook her head with a torrent of emotions written all over her face. Her

eyes conveyed the fact that it was something difficult to bring up… How could she reveal what had

happened all those years before…

Maxwell continued to smoke nonchalantly. Only his depthless eyes revealed a hint of emotion.

“Is he from the Sandoval family in the capital city?” Harriet suddenly asked and this prompted Greta to

turn around abruptly as disbelief crept into her eyes.

Harriet was getting straight to the point, and Greta had no way of dodging the question. She could only

nod in agreement as she admitted, “Yes.”

Harriet exchanged a glance with Maxwell. As expected… Greta was hiding something. The same could

be said about Derrick…

At this moment, Maxwell’s gaze was shrouded in a still calmness. He could guess this much.

A meaningful look entered Maxwell’s eyes as he became more and more livid. President Gerald was

an interesting person.

Perhaps, he was involved with Greta’s assassination last time.

“A storm on the horizon was brewing? The Sandoval Group has always dominated Ocean City. Only

those international corporations who have set up their branches in Ocean City have enough capital to

put up a decent fight. I don’t think there are a lot of corporations who can rival the Sandoval Group, are

there?” Harriet tried to do some analysis.

“No,” Suddenly, Maxwell interrupted her, “Besides the companies in Ocean City, I think there are a

dozen factions of forces who are targeting the Sandoval Group, isn’t that true, Greta?”

A slight shudder coursed through Greta’s heart. She looked at Maxwell in confusion. How did this guy

know about this?

Maxwell picked one newspaper from the rack and placed it on Greta’s desk. He pointed at the

headline.

Harriet found the headline and read it out, “The Sandoval Group acquired the development rights to the

Harbour Airport of Ocean City…”

“That’s right; the Sandoval Group has just acquired this after a tense competition with local rivals.

Although it seems like the Sandoval Group has a bright future ahead, this acquisition is also a hot

potato…” Maxwell began to explain while both Greta and Harriet couldn’t help staring at him in

surprise.

“Not only the local companies are coming up with ways to entice the Sandoval Group into giving up on

their rights, the international companies are all eyeing the group too.” There was sound reasoning in

Maxwell’s explanations. Greta was looking at Maxwell with an ambiguous and charming look in her

eyes.

Greta’s eyes were infused with a pleasant surprise. She was staring intently at this man who was

keeping a cool head and figuring things out. She was impressed that he could discover at a glance the

real reason behind everything.

“President Greta, if I’m not wrong, your biggest fear lies in the Sandoval family in the capital city, am I

right?” Maxwell’s tone suddenly turned solemn as his burning gaze pierced through Greta.

A slight shudder ran through Greta who had her captivating back facing him. She had always been on

the run from the Sandoval family in the capital city, but they never forgot about her. Finally, they were

able to catch up with her.

Suddenly, there was a knocking sound on the door to the office. Melissa, Greta’s secretary, came in

with big strides.

“President Greta, someone is inviting you to a banquet tonight.”

“Who is it?”

“He told me he’s from Beijing.”
