Chapter 38 You are Jealous
Chapter 38 You are Jealous
Knocks on the door sounded, Rebecca called outside, “Director, Missus is on the line.”
His face twitched, William turned and grabbed some clothes and walked out without looking back. Mia
looked surprised at the door closed shut, wondering if she was dreaming.
Sophia was still at the hospital. William had to take care of Sophia and run the company. He practically
didn't show up. He came back at night but at irregular times. Sometimes it’s dusk and sometimes it’s
after midnight. But he will somehow find time to get physical with her.
But somehow whenever they were climaxing, the phone rang and then they would stop. Either William
would leave directly or he will speak on the phone for a long time and then leave. All of the calls were
from Sophia because she was the only one William loved unconditionally.
She knew that she would never get William’s love. He only loved her body. Mia accepted her destiny
and was honest to herself. She rubbed her abdomen and softly sighed. These few days she had tried
to look for an opportunity to discuss with him about the child’s future but he was always so busy.
She wanted to bring up the child on her own and hoped that William will grant her wish.
But concerning these questions, she had never seen William coming into the room. By the time she
could react, William had already hugged her.
“That… wait a while.” Her body was easily seduced by him. Mia started to breathe deeply but she
endured the thoughts and pushed him off. William pushed her hands away and in a few moves he took
off her clothes. Mia anxiously slipped away from him and as she stepped on the floor, he lunged
forward and pinned her onto the carpet.
Immediately he was kissing her all over making her dizzy with arousal. After a long kiss, William’s
handsome face raised and looked at her rosy cheeks, smirked, and said, “So you like to do it on the
ground.”
“No, I just want to …” discuss something with you.
The unsaid words were blocked by the lips which rushed over sealing her lips with his. She was unable
to express herself.
Her body was under his control, his large hands grabbed her delicate waist. Her clothes were thrown
far away. His clothes were still neat, a slim fit business suit, sky blue shirt, and a silver striped necktie.
He didn’t look like he was doing anything intimate but attending a high-class conference.
Mia bit her lips as she felt the warm breathing into her ears, she saw her snow-white body shake under
his large hands.
From the side, she glanced at the sky blue ceiling, and further down was a slightly opened door. The
door started to open and a pair of high-end mid-high heels were revealed matched with a long purple
dress.
Someone’s here!
Mia reacted and a woman screamed, “Ah…”
William’s expression panicked and raised his head. Mia also looked up. Sophia could not believe it and
stood shakily at the door.
“William dear, you…” The slender finger pressed on her mouth, her large eyes started to tear and
flowed down her cheeks. She looked devastated, Mia’s heart skipped a beat.
William swiftly left Mia’s side, not bothering that she was naked and dashed towards Sophia, “Sophia
dear, why are you back?”
“William dear, I’m sorry.” She continued to cry and apologize. Mia quickly grabbed a bedsheet to cover
herself. Sophia was trembling and was clearly very sad but kept apologizing, “I didn’t expect to see you
all… I’m sorry, William dear, I’m sorry, I’m useless and yet…”
“Do not cry, I am the one who should be sorry, Sophia, I’m sorry.” William held onto her face and kissed
the tears, sincerely apologizing for the hurt that he caused as he held tightly to Sophia.
Sophia’s tear-soaked face looked across and Mia blushed and was so guilty that she wanted to find a This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
hole to crawl into.
William carried Sophia like he was carrying a slab of precious jade. The gentle voice said in the
corridor, “Let’s rest, I will stay by your side.”
When you truly love someone, you can love unconditionally. You can become sad or happy just with a
tear or a smile by the other person. Mia finally experienced what was known as love. This was from the
heart, unadulterated and sincere. Someone as cold as William could become so warm and caring for
the person he loved.
Where was she in his heart? What was she to him? A passer-by? A tool? An ointment for his wife?
To matter what, she only had to wait. Once this is over, she will no longer be in his memory.
Sophia refused to go back to the hospital and stayed in the house. In order to avoid awkwardness, Mia
locked herself in the room.
The Brown residence became livelier. Each day the garden would have Sophia’s gentle voice and
William’s caring concerns. Each time, it was either Sophia was in his arms or he would guide her along
the garden. Her smile was sunny and warm, piercing right into Mia’s heart.
She clearly understood that she was just a passing guest of their lives. Once her usefulness was over,
she would be ejected from their world without a word of thanks.
Rebecca appeared and Sophia laughed and said something to her. William turned together with
Rebecca and looked towards Mia’s direction.
Mia quickly dodged and didn’t want to be seen by him. A few minutes later, there were knocks on the
door. Rebecca said emotionlessly, “Missus invites Miss Charles downstairs for dinner.”
Downstairs for dinner? Mia froze in place awkwardly, not knowing how to respond. Rebecca sounded
out again, “Miss Charles, if you don’t go down, Missus will come up personally to invite you.”
Was there an option? She’ll have to face it eventually. She weakly replied, casually chose a dress, and
changed into it, and went out.
Downstairs, Sophia and William were already seated. She laughed as she saw him using a spoon to
scoop up some soup to her mouth. William continued to look at Sophia as if other than Sophia, nothing
in this world interested him.
She sat awkwardly opposite them and Mia carefully took up the fork and started shoving plain rice into
her mouth.
Sophia shyly pushed away William’s hand and said softly, “Mia is here, I’ll help myself.”
William didn’t even look at her. He obediently put down the spoon and placed all kinds of food onto
Sophia’s plate. Sophia decided not to mention what happened the other day, instead, she kept
encouraging her to eat.
Mia couldn’t eat a bite, Sophia’s magnanimous shone a light on her indecency. She felt as if she was
sitting on pins and needles. It was the first time she doubted her character.
Sophia shook William and behaved like a spoilt child, “William dear, Mia is my savior, you must treat
her well, treat her much better than me!”
Slap, the chopsticks slammed onto the table. Mia’s face and ears flushed in red not knowing where to
hide. William’s cold voice said, “She’s not worthy.”
Not worthy, not worthy, she’s not worthy. Oh, William even if you are making use of me, can you not be
so heartless?
Mia forcibly endured her tears and forced a smile at them, “I’ve had enough, please excuse me.” She
got up and walked up the stairs without looking back.
“Mia, wait a minute.” Sophia wanted to run after her but was pulled back by William, “You must eat
more and don’t keep caring for others.” Her piercing glare looked towards Mia who was on the stairs
and smiled wryly.
With the door closed, Mia sat quietly on the bed and wrung her hands. Although she knew about
William’s feelings towards her, but when she heard the heartless “unworthy”, her dignity was deeply
hurt.
Why was she so concerned about it? There wasn’t any affection between them. He loved Sophia and
all those words were spoken to please Sophia. Why can’t she just ignore them?
Outside the door, Sophia’s voice continued to drift in, “William dear, can you accompany me tonight?
I’ve been having nightmares recently, I know that it’ll affect your work but I’m really scared.”
“Certainly. I will remain by your side and won’t go anywhere.”
“Okay.”
The footsteps became more distant and the corridor was quiet again. Mia knows that William won’t be
coming today. Ever since they were discovered by Sophia, William never came to her room. It was as if
he had forgotten about her.
It’s better this way that they maintained the distance, then they won’t be too intertwined when they
separated.
Perhaps it’s because of her pregnancy that she starts to feel sleepy very early and she gets into bed
before eight. She slept until she woke up because she was thirsty. She turned on the light and rubbed
her eyes as she poured a glass of water and she heard some noises when she walked back.
Who was it? She looked at the door handle. Before she slept, she locked the door and the door handle
was being manipulated and opened in a few seconds.
“William?” She almost dropped the glass when she saw the person at the door and immediately pulled
a face. William entered without asking and looked at her skimpy nightgown as he squinted and walked
to the bed.
Mia stood in place without moving and pursed her lips. She asked sarcastically, “Why are you here and
not with your wife?”
William was expressionless and smirked, “You are jealous.”
“How can I, I’m not worthy!” She didn’t know why she said that and continued to stand in place.
William stood up and walked over intimidatingly and pinched her chin, “You are clearly jealous.” He
could turn and leave or give her a ruthless punishment.
No woman can be jealous of Sophia. This was his basic requirement for any of his women.
But for reasons unknown, from the time he saw her at the dining table, his mind was full of her image.
Her enchanting delicate body, her peachy petite face, she trembled as she pushed away his hand…
