Chapter 1760
“Oh.
” Melon nodded, obliging.
“Who are you?”
“Your grandfather,” Moss stated simply.
For a moment, time seemed to freeze.
Melon hadn’t expected such a bombshell to be dropped so casually.
His mouth hung open.
He was so shocked.
After a while, Moss pointed out he was drooling, prompting Melon to quickly wipe his mouth.
Melon then quickly glanced down.
There was nothing on the ground.
Moss was clearly lying about the drooling part.
Melon glared at Moss.
“Don’t try to fool me just because I’m a kid.
”
“Why would I fool you? I would gain nothing from it,” Moss retorted.
It wasn’t the first time today someone had questioned his truthfulness.
Moss’ tone was soft.
The boy was, after all, far more endearing than those people earlier.
He crouched down, pointing to a small dark stain on Melon’s collar, wanting to show Melon that he hadn’t deceived him.
Melon, however, had meant something else entirely.
He said, “I know my family.
I don’t have a grandfather.

“That’s because your mother’s understanding of her family background is flawed.
She was actually adopted.
”
Over the next few minutes, Moss patiently explained everything to Melon, much like he had done with Ariana and the others.
Melon blinked, trying to process it all.
Though he didn’t interrupt, his mind raced.
The man before him didn’t seem to be fabricating the story, yet the man looked nothing like his mother.
How could he possibly be his grandfather?
Melon’s chubby face scrunched up in suspicion.
Moss, finding Melon’s frown amusing, produced a candy from his pocket, attempting to coax the boy into calling him “Grandpa”.
“Even if you gave me a hundred candies, I wouldn’t accept them,”
Melon declared, tucking his hands behind his back.
“I’m not so easily bribed.
”
Moss smiled again.
Despite Melon’s refusal, he slipped the candy into Melon’s pocket.
“I have work to do,” Moss said, turning to leave.
“Be good and don’t wander off.
”
As soon as the door clicked shut, Melon began to take stock of his surroundings.
The presidential suite had been transformed into a laboratory, bustling with workbenches and flasks of various shapes and sizes.
