Chapter 0594
Chapter 0594
Nicholas snapped, 'Are you done yet?'
He grabbed the vase next to him and hurled it at Claudia.
The vase, though empty of flowers, still held water. It shattered against the wall with a crash, and shards of glass and water poured over Claudia's head.
Claudia barely managed to hold her breath. She couldn't shield herself in time. A shard slashed across her face, instantly drawing blood.
She screamed and instinctively reached to wipe her face, but her hands were already covered in cuts. The moment the water touched her wounds, the sharp pain made her forget how to cry-she could only gasp for
breath, trembling in agony.
Her fury boiled over. "Nick! It was Ariana who wanted to hear this! You used to say I never listened to her. But now that I do, am I still wrong? How can you treat me like this? I'm your sister! What is she compared to me?"
Nicholas glared at her venomously. "I told you to shut up. Didn't you hear me?"
Everything happened so fast. Before I could react, the tension between them had escalated into a dangerous confrontation.
No matter the cause of their fallout, one thing was clear to me now-Claudia's feelings for Nicholas were painfully one-sided.
Nicholas, who had always prided himself on being a gentleman, wouldn't resort to something as rash as throwing a vase unless he was pushed to the brink.
He stood, pointing a finger at her. His voice was stern as he said, "Keep talking, and I swear-
I quickly blocked Nicholas' path, staring stubbornly into his eyes. "Nicholas, I was the one who wanted to hear this!"
I didn't know if there'd ever be another opportunity like this to uncover the truth. Nicholas was clearly withholding something, and I couldn't bring myself to trust him completely.
Nicholas' hands gripped my shoulders firmly, his voice cracking as he pleaded. "Ariana, let's talk privately. Whatever's between us, we don't need anyone else to speak for us."
I stubbornly shook my head and tumed to face Claudia.Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
She laughed bitterly, her expression more grotesque than if she'd been crying. She understood my words and began speaking again.
"Do you have any idea how long the video of Nick begging you at the airport trended online? Who is he? He's the CEO of Hawk Corporation, the only decision-maker! You humiliated him, Ariana. Do you think he doesn't resent you?
'He didn't suppress those rumors online. Do you know why? He wanted to force himself to face the humiliation, to remind himself of how heartless and cold you were to him! You're so naive! Do you think you can just reach out to him whenever you want after walking away?"
Claudia burst into laughter. "It's hilarious! Who leaves but still expects Nick to stick around? If you really died on the delivery table, what does that have to do with him? And you can't let go? Who cares if you can or can't let go..."
Claudia kept hurling insults, but I barely registered her words. My mind was spinning.
So, this was the truth?
My legs wobbled, and Nicholas immediately steadied me. His face darkened as he turned to Claudia. "Apologize to Ariana!"
"Me? Apologize?" Claudia feigned ignorance with brazen defiance, pointing at her bloodied face with trembling fingers.
"And what exactly am I apologizing for? For the fact that you two missed your chance? I'd celebrate that if I could, Nick!"
