Triumph Above All Chapter 50

Chapter 50

“Didn’t you see it at the exhibition too? Why are you pretending to not know about it now?” Nicholas scoffed.

Apparently, the necklace he was holding turned out to be a counterfeit that he commissioned for two million dollars.

The craftsman even assured him that it would be unnoticable without the help of professionals.

This could be considered an excellent counterfeit.

It seemed that he thought of Skylar as a complete pushover and would not notice the counterfeit.

However, Skylar remained silent while he smiled.

He never expected that Nicholas would even be shameless enough to buy a counterfeit just to win a woman’s heart. This was hilarious and sad at the same time. NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.

“What are you laughing about? Could your gift be more expensive than mine?” Nicholas asked furiously.

So, Skylar took out the box from his pocket and said, “I wouldn’t say that it’s expensive, but coincidentally, I also have the Star of Cullinan in this box.”

Skylar opened the box after that.

Nicholas’ gaze glimmered as he leaned in for a closer look. Soon, the green glow of the necklace reflected in his eyes.

He then looked at the one he had and could not tell the difference. This made him wonder if Skylar had commissioned someone to counterfeit the Star of Cullinan as well.

So, Nicholas took a couple of deep breaths to calm himself down and scoffed as he said, “Oh Skylar. I always thought of you to be quite honorable despite being poor. I didn’t expect you to stoop so low. Now I wonder if you really were in the military for the last six years?”

“What are you trying to say, Nicholas?” Skylar glared at him.

“I’m trying to say that the necklace in your hands is a counterfeit! Gosh, How could you trick Yulia like this when she trusts you so much?” Nicholas questioned Skylar furiously.

“How do you know the one I have is a counterfeit?” Skylar asked with a smile.

Nicholas scoffed and said, “Of course I know! How could you, an orphan who was adopted by a poor family, possibly afford the real Star of Cullinan? Oh, and the Red Dust you gave your sister yesterday must be a counterfeit too! Well played, Skylar, you are quite the compulsive liar there.

Do you have a third necklace for the woman you’re living with at Ocean Hill?”

However, before Skylar could say anything, Yulia interjected, “So, you already know that the girl was Skylar’s sister yesterday and you still decided to send it to me, just so I would

misunderstand him?”

Nicholas panicked and frantically explained, “Yulia, I found out about it today as well.”

“So, it really was you.” Skylar scoffed.

“Nicholas, it’s all up to me as to how many necklaces I have and who I decide to give them to. However, it’s not up to you to say if this necklace is a counterfeit or not. If you’re really adamant in

proving the one you have is real, we can have a professional jewler look at it to decide if it’s real.”

Nicholas panicked after hearing what Skylar said.

He could not believe that Skylar would even propose to have the necklaces authenticated. This made him wonder if the one he had could be real.

Impossible!

He refused to believe that Skylar could be that mysterious wealthy buyer.

Don’t forget, he bought the Rest Dust along with the Star of Cullinan. Both necklaces alone would cost him 1.3 billion dollars. This amount of money would be enough to afford the villas on Ocean Hill.

He knew that no matter how much that wealthy woman was attracted to Skylar, it would be impossible for anyone to be this generous. However, although he was certain that the necklace Skylar had was a counterfeit, he dared not get his authenticated as well. That was because he would only go down with Skylar if that happened. That was not an outcome he wanted.

So, he hesitated for a brief moment and said, “Today is Yulia’s birthday and it’s all your fault that her good mood is ruined. Why don’t we do this instead. Let’s have Yulia choose. I believe that she must know which necklace is real and which isn’t.”
