Ethan POV

When Gian left, I sat on the side of the bed. What could have entered this woman’s mind without even telling me that she was sick. I didn’t notice that because she didn’t sleep in the bedroom last night.

Soon I saw her move and slowly opened her eyes.

“How are you feeling?” I asked her to her surprise, she didn’t think I was here.

“Ethan?” She called out my name. “Where’s Gian?”

I raised an eyebrow at her. “I’m here but you’re looking for my friend?”

“Because he was here earlier so I thought he was still here until now.” she said weakly.

“He’s probably really the one here because he’s the one you called and not me.” I promise.

She bowed her head and did not say anything. So I got up and got water and medicine to give it to her.

“Drink this first and then we will go home. We will talk at home. ” I said seriously.

While we were on the way home no one spoke to us, I looked at Agatha but she was also quiet.

When we got home she came down and went straight inside, I’m sure we’ll fight again.

When I entered, I met Melissa but I ignored her and continued to go straight to the bedroom.

I saw Agatha was standing on the veranda so I went to her. “Are you feeling okay?” I asked her.

“I’m pretty okay.” her short answer.

“Why didn’t you tell me? Does my friend need to know that you are sick more than me? I called you many times but you didn’t even answer it but you were able to call Gian. ” I said seriously.

“I’m in my condo and we’re in the same building. He’s closer to my unit so I called him.”

“But you still haven’t told me! We are together here at home but you didn’t inform me that you were sick .” I said.

“You are busy.”

“That’s bullshit Agatha! I’m just here at home! We are living together in this damn house! ” I can’t help it because she just doesn’t seem to care if I’m upset or angry.

“Exactly Ethan you are here and we are together! But you didn’t notice it. You only care about one person and I know that it is not me. ”

“Is it about Melissa again? I don’t know what I’m going to do to you why you’re like that! She is not doing anything to you but you are mad at her. “Did I say I hated her? I’m not interfering with her, and now you’re going to tell me that? Wow just wow! ”

“Because that’s what I am seeing! You can directly say it to me if you don’t want her here at home! Not that you will act like that and get upset at her without any reason. ” I promise.

“And why would I say that? I don’t have any rights to decide about it, this is your house.”

I squeezed my head out of frustration, not wanting to say anything that would cause us to fight more.

“Oh don’t tell me you’re mad already? Are you angry because you think I’m mad at your so-called friend?  I’m telling you I’m not doing anything to her. ”

“All I’m saying is if you’re mad at me, don’t involve another person in this house because she herself didn’t want to get sick. She is just asking for help but you misunderstood everything.”

She laughed heartily. “I don’t feel sorry for her because I know I didn’t do anything bad to her, you put her name in this conversation but why is it still my fault?”

“Because you are being sarcastic!” I said annoyed.

“Am I?”

“Stop bitching around Agatha will you? Your behavior is no longer funny. ” I promise.

“I’m not asking you to be happy either, if I behave like this you don’t care.”

“Damn it! Don’t you know how to talk to me properly? All I’m asking is why you didn’t tell me that you were sick! ” I said.

“And why would I do that? I can handle myself. And one more thing, nothing will change if ever I told you, you are busy because Melissa is sick, aren’t you? So you have to take care of her and watch over her 24/7 and then prepare her medicine. ”

“I didn’t know you were sick, if only I knew I wouldn’t let you alone. I’m your boyfriend so it’s only natural that I’ll put you first. ” I speak calmly.

“I didn’t expect you to prioritize me because since that woman came into this house I became out of the picture, it’s like I’m a display here that you will talk to when you are not busy with her or if you will remember that I am here, that I am still existing. And as you have said we are living on the same roof but it’s funny that you didn’t even notice that I’m sick while you notice that Melissa is feeling bad right away. Why is that Ethan?”  traces in her voice the resentment.

I approached her to hold her hand but she just backed away.

“I don’t need your concern Ethan because I can take care of myself alone.”

I was about to speak when there was a knock on the door and I heard Melissa’s voice.

“See? Your FRIEND is looking for you. ” Agatha scoffed, emphasizing the word friend.

“Don’t change the topic here Agatha because we’re talking.” I said seriously

But I was even more annoyed because Melissa didn’t want to stop knocking! “Wait for me here.” I spoke and walked to the door.

When I opened the door I saw Melissa smiling. “What now?” I shouted at her out of frustration.

“I was just checking if you’re already asleep or not. I will just invite you to have a coffee.” she said.

“Not now Mel, my girlfriend is sick and she needs me. So please excuse me because we are going to rest.” I spoke and closed the door.

When I came back inside I saw that Agatha was already sitting while bowing. I know that she is crying based on the movement of her shoulder. I came in front of her and knelt down.

“I’m sorry baby if I make you feel that I’m taking you for granted, I know how many times we fight because of these things. I can’t just send her away out of here. Please baby try to understand me. She will just stay here for a week now. ” I started but it just remained bent.

“I love you, I love you so much and you know that. You are the only woman I want to be with for the rest of my life. I know that I’m hurting you and I’m sorry if I can’t take away the pain you’re feeling right now because of me but I hope you will not think that I don’t care about you because that thing won’t happen. I’m sorry if we’re always fighting because of this, I don’t want to shout at you and make you look like I’m defending Mel, I just don’t want you to be bad in the eyes of others. ”

She was just crying so I hugged her . “I hate you Ethan, I hate you for hurting me and for making me feel that I am unwanted.” she said softly.

“I’m sorry baby, please don’t think that way because that’s not true. I love you so much and I will not allow you to lose you. ” I whisper softly.
