Chapter 519 Let’s Go Together

Caroline said, “The signal might be weak in the mountains. Please inform Axel if he asks about me.”

“Absolutely!” the children assured her.

Alex met Evan at Villa Rosa at 9:00 p.m. They sat in the lounge, sipping wine.

Alex asked, “I’m sure you’re relieved now that Axel’s surgery went well.”

Evan leaned back with his wine glass and took a sip. “Axel has to stay in a sterile room for a month.”

“Don’t worry. Richie will provide top–notch care. By the way, are you attending the opening ceremony in

two days?”

Evan looked at him disapprovingly. “Aren’t you taking Paige with you?”

“No, because my parents will be there too.” Alex sighed. “Paige had a major argument with my mother

today.”

Evan looked at Alex with curiosity. “Whose side are you on?”

“Undoubtedly on Paige’s side!” Alex replied firmly.

“What an ungrateful son!” Evan teased.

It put Alex in a tough spot. “I know, but I love Paige.”

“What’s your plan?” Evan asked. “Your mother isn’t easy to sway.”

Alex looked at Evan pleadingly, but the latter turned away in disgust. “Stop looking at me like that.”

“Can’t you help out a friend, just this once?” Alex asked anxiously.

Evan put his glass down. “How much do you love her?”

After a pause, Alex answered, “I couldn’t eat or sleep when we broke up. Does that count?”

Evan looked down. “Your mother may not listen to me.”

“But my father will!” Alex assorted. “He always values your opinion.”

Evan reluctantly nodded. “Alright, I’ll give it a shot.”

Although he disliked meddling in family matters, he agreed to help because he understood Alex’s pain all

Suddenly, the thought of Caroline overwhelmed him, causing excruciating pain. Her casual reply had left

him in a daze. Was it really that easy for her to move on?

Caroline woke up early on Saturday with the children. As she was preparing clothes for them, she

received a call from Paige.

Upon answering the phone, she heard Paige’s excited voice. “Hey Carol, are you free today? Let’s go to a

hot spring!”

Caroline looked at the luggage in her hand, surprised. “Did you put a surveillance camera in my house?”

“Huh?” Paige was puzzled.

Caroline chuckled. “I’m taking the kids to a hot spring in Rusvil.”

“Is it the one opening today?” Paige asked. “You don’t see me as a friend? I was about to invite you to go

together!” This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

Caroline explained, “I didn’t ask because I thought you were busy with Alex.”

Paige countered, “Well, he’s occupied with his mother.”

“How about we meet there at 10:00 a.m.?” Caroline suggested.

“I’m already on my way to your place. We can go together later.”

“Alright, I’ll wait for you.”

Caroline and Paige arrived at the Grand Hot Spring Hotel around 9:30 am.

The hotel entrance was bustling with luxurious cars, and elegantly dressed upper–class individuals were

stepping out of them and heading inside.

This scene left Caroline and Paige momentarily speechless.

Paige asked, “Did we make a mistake? Isn’t this the Grand Hot Spring Hotel?”

Caroline scanned the area. ‘Yes, it is. Why would a newly opened hot spring hotel have such a wealthy

crowd?”

Caroline and Paige were bewildered, wondering about the hotel’s owner.

Paige leaned in closer to Caroline. “Carol, they’re dressed so elegantly, and here we are feeling like

country bumpkins…”
