Chapter 501 Let Go of Me, Quickly
Laila was shocked. “Why are you saying that, Mr. Price? Paige has-”
Alex didn’t let Laila respond. “Who says you can’t feel tired at work? Is it Evan? I ask him later. Let’s find
out if he’s the one behind that silly rule or if you enacted it without his approval.”
Laila panicked. “No, I didn’t-”
Alex scoffed. Moments later, he grabbed Paige by the wrist and said, “Let’s go.”
Paige tried to break free, but Alex forcefully pulled her into his arms and into the elevator.
Paige pushed Alex away as the elevator doors closed and said, ‘I don’t need your heroic rescue.”
Paige appeared stubborn on the outside, but she felt a sense of relief inside. No one had ever stood up
for her like that, except her parents and Caroline. She had been feeling extremely exhausted for the past
few days, lacking the energy for any arguments.
Alex had indeed come to her aid.
“No, I’m just protecting someone dear,” Alex said with a smile.
Paige grumbled, “I won’t talk to disloyal people.”
Alex promptly raised his hand to swear, “I have no involvement with Daniella or any of the other women
before her, nor do I have any ulterior motives with them! If I’m lying, I want this elevator to malfunction
and plummet!”
“What’s gotten into you?! Don’t drag me into this if you want to risk your life!” Paige reprimanded.
Alex held her hand and said, “Paige, I can’t reveal much about Evan’s matters, but my feelings for you are
genuine. I’ve even decided to introduce you to my parents if you can forgive me
Paige hesitated after seeing Alex’s sincere expression. “Are you serious?” she asked.
Alex nodded. “Yes! Look how we can communicate when you’ve calmed down.”
Paige kicked Alex. “You’re the one who’s not calm!”
Alex endured the pain and accepted It. “You can kick me twice more if it helps.”
Paige kicked him two more times.
“Ouch…” Alex knelt in pain, clutching his calf.
Paige was taken aback and quickly lowered herself. “Hey, Pug. You told me to kick you. Does it hurt that Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
much?”
Alex seized the chance to pull Paige into his arms. Tears welled up in his eyes. “I feel incomplete when
you don’t call me Pug. Paige, I’ve missed you so much.”
Paige pushed him away angrily. “Stop pretending!”
Alex refused to let go. “I’m not. I can’t bear not seeing you, and my heart aches when I don’t receive your
daily text messages. I promise I won’t meet other women privately from now on. If I must, I’ll inform you
in advance. You can check on me anytime, okay?”
Paige’s heart softened upon hearing Alex’s tearful voice.
Paige also missed him but wasn’t ready to forgive him easily. She initiated the breakup, yet she struggled
to move on.
“Alright. Isn’t a man like you ashamed of crying like this?” she asked.
“Forgive me then,” he replied.
“I forgive you, okay? Let go of me quickly. We’re almost on the first floor,” he said with a smile.
Alex released Paige’s hand and then teased her, “You seem to have put on some weight recently.”
Paige’s expression turned icy, and her anger flared. “Forget you, Pug! Tell me! How do you want to meet
your end?”
Reuben took Daniella to the hospital’s office to meet Evan.
Daniella found Evan sitting in a chair, reading a report with a serious expression.
He sat in a relaxed posture, yet he radiated an unmatched elegance.
His handsome facial features entranced Daniella. She reined in her wandering thoughts and asked softly, Am I disturbing you?”
Evan replied coldly, without looking up, “The agreement is on the table. Read it yourself.”
