Chapter 241 Stage Accident
Chapter 241 Stage Accident
Robert frowned and stared at one of the women.
"You can't see anything from this angle."
Pearl said jealously.
"As a doctor, you've known about human bodies, so is that necessary to look so carefully?"
"No, you misunderstood. I was looking at her face."
The black-haired woman raised her head, which seemed familiar to Robert. She looked like his friend.
"Alice?"
Elyse guessed. There was a conspicuous tattoo on her cheek.
A moment later, the woman's face finally completely lifted. She had black hair but a pair of azure eyes.
There was no warmth in the woman's eyes. The more Elyse looked at them, the more terrified she felt.
"It's Alice. It's her!"
Elyse cried.
Pearl raised her eyebrows and looked at the brother and sister strangely. It turned out that they knew
one of the women. Even in such a serious situation, she still wanted to ask Robert about the
relationship between him and Alice.
"We grew up in an overseas welfare home when we were very young, so did Alice."
Elyse did not know Alice very well. She and her brother spent a limited time at the welfare home before
they went home with Colin.
Alice was adopted too. She had a tattoo of Jesus on her face, only because the family was extremely
religious.
With such a special look and tattoo, it must be Alice.
But why was Alice in City J, and tied up?
The other woman, a dark-skinned girl, also had a lifeless look.
The video gave the close-up of the girls about 2 minutes, and then, Potbelly showed up.
"Darling, I'm coming!"
Potbelly's big belly and yellow teeth made Pearl extremely nauseous.
Fortunately, they didn't eat much. Jane must not see this video.
Then Potbelly had sexual intercourse with the girls. It was as disgusting as it could be. Pearl almost
vomited.
"Where did Potbelly get the girls?"
It was a 2-hour video containing several sections. The location was probably some kind of place with
no light such as a basement. Potbelly dressed casually, so he might be at home.
Potbelly did not speak English, and he could communicate with neither of them.
However, when the girls were talking, they were calling for help.
"In the video, Potbelly said that he bought them as female slaves with a few million. He definitely
couldn't let them go. Otherwise, he would lose the money. Could he buy them through Underground
Network?"
Robert asked. Then he tried to contact his former friends.
After making a few calls, he found out that Alice had been missing for months.
She went missing on the way back home from church, and there was no news of her ever since.
She was adopted. When she disappeared, her foster parents thought she had found her birth parents
and didn't get too worried.
"Robert, we have to help her. She knew the things."
Elyse heaved a sigh of relief. Ada had evidence of Potbelly's imprisonment. Why didn't she ask for a
sum of money? Was she still planning to keep a triumph card?
"We need to have a look at Potbelly's house."
She was adopted. When she disappeared, her foster parents thought she had found her birth parents
and didn't get too worried.
After the three of them finished discussing, Jane was also satiate.
It was late. Neon lights flashed outside.
Pearl stopped Jane to watch the video and told her what it was.
"Well, I see."
Jane immediately lost interest in the video. She must not pollute her eyes.
They decided not to call the police now and would try to rescue the girls to check if it was related to the
Underground Network.
Human trafficking was the Underground Network's business. If Potbelly did buy people there, they
would get another piece of evidence.
They were about to leave when Elyse received a call.
"Ms. Jane, I have to leave first."
Elyse stood up, hesitating whether she should confess to Jane or not. The recent troubles came one
after another, and new ones came before the old ones were solved.
"Go ahead."
Jane rubbed her forehead. Fine. She deserved no happiness and ease these days. She just sold the
shell company, and now a clue. She had to deal with it.
"The Competition for Great Dancers got a stage accident. Something was wrong with the lift in the
middle of the stage. When Randy was rehearsing with the guest member Kylie for the live broadcast at
eight p. m., a big hole appeared on the stage. Kylie fell, while Randy caught the edge of the stage in
time, but he also got some minor injuries."
Elyse said, but not sure if Jane understood. There were many fans on the scene, which meant they
could not suppress the accident from reporting.
Jessica received the latest news and immediately called.
Now that angry fans had surrounded the jewelry company, their employees could not get out at all.
"They also hit our employees. Because these people blocked the passage, the ambulance could not
get in."
Elyse was serious. It was Carey who got injured. She was already unconscious. The fans hit her
because of her strong argument.
But the fans blocked the traffic. The medical workers could not in, and the employees were not allowed
to come out. They asked for an explanation!
"Logically, if there was a stage accident, fans should question the TV station first. Why do they blame
us instead?"
Jane took a deep breath and grasped the key.
Things were much worse than she had thought. It was simply so bad that it couldn't be any more
terrible.
Pearl also became anxious when she heard this.
"Robert, Pearl, You go and find a way to rescue the girls. If Potbelly is alerted and changes his location,
it will be difficult for us to find them."
Jane looked at Pearl. As for her company, she would settle it. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
"But Jane, your company..."
Robert hesitated. Compared to this, Jane's matter was more important.
"Trust me, and I have Elyse."
Jane consoled them. Right now, the best way was to deal with things respectively. If she got some
troubles, Robert's success could be a comfort.
If they dealt with one thing together, there was no efficiency at all.
"Okay Jane, be careful."
Robert was convinced. He left with Pearl. They agreed that if things did not go smoothly, they must not
take risks.
After Robert and Pearl left, Jane asked for the details about the accident.
"Call Jessica and tell her and the employees do not try to go out. Don't argue with the fans."
Those emotional fans could do anything, and the law did not punish the masses. They might not find
the culprit if they got hurt.
It did not matter if the ambulance or medical personnel could not get in. Jane had already sent a
helicopter landing at the top floor and sent Carey to the hospital.
She needed to appease the employees and tell them that she cared about them.
