The Woman From Hell

Chapter 2627

Theo and I arrived at the entrance of the company, only to see a bunch of reporters rush up to us.

I looked at him. "Did something happen?"

Theo was also puzzled as he shook his head. "No."

In the past two days, the partnership between Grant Corporation and Pristine had taken up a large section of the financial channel. Due to this, Golden-O had become a hot topic before it had even been released to the market. Not only that, Nibel announcing me as the spokesperson had also increased the public's anticipation for it. It was a good start.

Other than that, however, we did not seem to have any other large-scale news.

Why were the reporters here?

Several microphones were shoved up in front of us. I smiled in the face of the reporters' enthusiastic faces.

"President Lane, what's your opinion on the news that was released today?"

The news today? What news?

I frowned, not understanding what they were saying.

Another reporter to the side hurriedly asked, "President Grant, did you marry President Lane as a front to deceive others?"

What kind of a question was that? What were they talking about?

"Why aren't you two saying anything? Could it be that you've long known what was happening between President Grant and Mr. Nibel, President Lane?"

"Is it true? Is President Gant's marriage to you part of an agreement?"

"Were you aware that Mr. Nibel and President Grant visited a heritage town together?"

Was I not the one who went there together with him? How did it become Theo and Nibel?

I truly was at a loss at what they were asking about. Just when I was about to speak, a reporter asked again, "Are Nibel and President Grant really together?"

My jaw dropped when I heard this. "What?!"

Seeing my surprised expression, those reporters concluded that I knew nothing about it.

"It seems that President Lane has been kept in the dark..."

I could no longer register the reporters' words after that. Theo had gotten Keith to look for a few security guards to escort us upstairs.

In the office.

I looked through the trending news on my phone and noted that the headlines for today read: [President Grant and Nibel Travelled Together To A Heritage Town. What's Their Relationship?]

"Why the hell is this news trending? It's distorting everything. They only caught you and Nibel despite me being there as well."

The photos above were all taken

when I was away, including when we

were at the hotel restaurant when had gone to the bathroom for a moment. Only Nibel and Theo were there, and it was actually written in

the news that they hafast

together after spending a happy night together.

I could not stand it anymore. I put down my phone. "They're exaggerating it too much."

Theo looked calm. "Peace is the enemy of the press. If we rush to clarify the situation, they'll only be even fiercer with their reporting. Let's air it for a bit. There's no rush."

I turned to him and asked tentatively, "Theo, are you sure you're not?"

Theo's expression san after I said that. "What do you think?"

I coughed lightly to ease the awkwardness. "I was too presumptuous. We can't be sure about Nibel, though. I've known him for so long, yet I really haven't seen a woman around him. Do you think

"I have no idea."

"He must have seen the news. I'll ask him not to come to the company for the time being."

Otherwise, we would see more riots again.

The moment I said that. However, Keith came in and announced, "President Grant, President Lane, Mr. Nibel is here."

"What's he doing here at this time?"

"The security guard brought Mr. Nibel up just now. He was blocked downstairs," Keith replied.

"Alright. Don't be too sensitive. We haven't heard such news being circulated about Mr. Nibel before, so I don't think that would be the case."

I turned my head and glanced at Theo. "Don't make contact with him. I'll go."
