Chapter 70 - Ventus
Chapter 70 - Ventus
\~Artemis P.O.V\~
"Well, that was awkward" I said scratching the itchy skin in the back of my head liking how my long
nails felt against my skin.
"Tch, I wish I had pounced on her and ripped her ugly face off" Homura growled the regret in his voice
was noticeable. "WHO THE **** ARE YOU CALLING DOG? YOU OVERGROWN SACK OF SHIT" his
frustration rant made me scoff a laughter.
"I wouldn't stop you"
Homura peeked up at me with confusion written all over his face. "You wouldn't?" he titled his head to
the side.
"Nope, that's your problem not mine." I shook my head.
"So, if I attack someone you wouldn't stop me" he squinted his eyes and searched for any lies I told. I
stared back at him with a straight face and nodding my head in a yes. "Your so complicated" he
frowned with a mumble and walked forward leaving me behind.
I sighed and shook my head then to follow Homura.
Looking around, Taivas has beautiful infrastructure than Aureum. It's more alive, shinier, and wider, the
shops are all beautifully decorated with flowers and stones and some are even floating on little islands
with bridges crossing to one another. All sorts of flying creatures could be seen soaring the sky, nobles
and even commoners are seen walking around yet because of the hierarchy none talked to each other
and continued on their jolly way minding each ones business.
I gawked at my surroundings, fixated with the beauty of this place and the fresh air that soured through
my lungs, cooling my throat as it did. 'Such a pleasant place. If I wasn't returning home this would one
of the places I would stay in'
"Oi human girl, stop looking around and keep your eyes forward." Homura said making me look away
from the buildings and at him.
"We aren't here to admire the place remember. You here to save a life" he turned his head back to take
a look at me with his amber eyes. I smiled awkwardly scratching my chin in embarrassment that a fox
is reminding me of my reason of coming here.
The foxes eyes suddenly reflected annoyance, a grunt of anger escaping his lips. I rose an eyebrow
wondering what was going through his head and what I did to annoy him this time. "You really are
blind" the fox turned around and began jogging to the other direction.
My eyelid twitches in irritation, and I turned around to follow him when I suddenly looked up. What I
saw in front of my eyes felt like my very own eyes had fallen out of the sockets. A white palace was
floating in the middle of the sky, it was like sitting on it's own cloud. The tall triangle rooftops soared into
the sky disappearing within the clouds and there was a giant arch looking entrance built in the front of
the castle, I could see dragons and Pegasus flying into the side of the palace were a long white stone
path was connected to it with a huge gateway that was wide open for the mythical creatures to land.
It was so magnificent and magical to look at that I had forgotten how to breath. 'Is this what a real
fantasy palace is like'.
"How in God's name are we going to get up there?" Homura scoffed at it, his amber eyes revealing the
hated idea of flying castles. I glanced down at the fox who he too did the same and a large grin started
to spread across my face as watched the colour drain from his eyes that started to widened in
realisation of what was going through my head.
"NO!" he shrieked so loudly that everyone around us turned around to see what it was that screamed
so loud.
I smiled awkwardly ruffling the back of my head as the people looked my way, their piercing eyes
holding curiosity, annoyance or as if I was some crazy lady. I gently kicked the foxes side to shut him
up and he growled at me. "Shut up you little shit, stop bringing attention to us" I whispered angrily trying
to keep a forced awkward smile.
"Hahaha nothing to see here" I chuckled uncomfortably waving my hands in front of me assuring the
people that everything was fine, and they should return back to what they were doing and ignore before
starting into a walk, shrinking my head into my shoulders hiding away my flustered face of
embarrassment.
'Stupid fox'
I still felt the piercing eyes of the crowd following me, but I ignored it and kept my fast pace of walking
trying to quickly get away from them and somewhere far. "****, ****, ****"
"Stopping walking so fast. I have tiny paws compared to your long human stick legs" Homura ran to
catch up to me, his teeth baring at me.
"Homura I'm not going to talk to you, or people are going to think I'm crazy talking to a fox" Homura
gave me deadpanned expression as if I had said that I was going turn into a donkey.
"Aren't you crazy though? also add the fact that your mentally unstable"
"You sly fox" my lips turned into a smiling scowl as red throb appeared on my temple.
"Don't forget your still talking to me" another red throb appeared on the other side of my temple. "Blink
twice if you disagree and hum if you agree" he explained to me. "The humans may assume you got
something in your eyes or your just a blinking maniac" Homura said so nonchalantly, his eyes looking
forward and not into my flaming eyes of anger.
"Shut the **** up before I lose it and kick you so high you might end up in landing on the moon" I
whispered angrily, the blood boiling within me as I raised my fist to my face.
"Still talking to me" he hummed.
"You fucking little shit" I growled to myself completely going to ignore him until the time being.
"Don't ignore me either. I don't like being ignored" I glanced down to see him grinning widely like an
idiot and revealing his white rows of sharp little teeth. I sweat dropped at his remark and just walked
quickly so I wouldn't be seen with this idiot looking fox.
Homura just continued yapping and cursing at every thing that came to his eyes that he didn't like. For
example, humans. I decided to ignore him and hum in agreement at whatever he said not even
knowing what Homura was saying at all.
I was about to turn left when I sensed someone about to turn towards me sharply in a quick swift. I
stopped in my tracks and before I knew I heard a masculine voice yell out angrily.
"YOU LITTLE RUNT STOP THERE!"
A little boy in commoner clothing consisting of a white top under a brown vest, brown pants that looked
a little dirty, medieval looking brown boot and was draped in a small brown yet rugged cloak that the
hood had fallen from his head revealing his identity. He had smooth looking dark brown hair that
seemed it wasn't washed in a while, his dirt-stained porcelain skin complemented his silver eyes that
darted to look at mine in surprise.
I wasn't in his way since I had stopped a few seconds ago knowing his presence was dangerously
close in bumping to me. The little brown-haired boy ran past me with a huge brown pouch within his
arms, hugging it tightly so it wouldn't fall.
"Heh must of pissed off the giant metal humans" Homura said with a scoff.
I leaned forward to peek out from side of the stone wall and to see what was on the other side and to
see who was chasing after him. There were two armoured guards running at full speed but thanks to
the boys luck the armour must have been heavy which reduced their speed a lot.
The fox also peaked his out to look at what was going on "You're going to slow them down are you"
That little fox read my mind.
I hummed in response.
Sliding back away from the sight of the guards, I placed my hands behind my back and glancing
around like a normal human being and whistling quietly as I patiently waited for the metals clangs to get
louder and louder as they got closer to the stone wall.
When they got close to my likings, I put my foot out swiftly and those idiots did not see it coming and
the first one tripped over my foot and the other came tumbling down after him like dominos. Homura
began to cackle into a laughter while I looked back to see the boy glancing back with surprised wide
eyes that didn't know why a stranger like me helped but turned his head around continued on running,
dodging people in his way.
I glanced back at the groaning and grunting of pain of the two adults that were on top of each other
trying to get up.
"What in the Gods' name happened?" one asked.
I didn't want to stay any longer in the crime scene that I would be charged guilty of tripping them and
letting the little thief free, so I walked around them and continued on my merry way to the levitating
palace of Ventus with the chuckling fox beside me.
"I'm not drinking that" Homura cringed away from the bottle, his paw pushing away the potion away
from himself.
"Homura drink that damn potion and stop whining like a little cub" I growled shoving the potion to him.
"NO!" Homura snapped his snout at me threatening to bite if I lingered my hand any closer. "I'm not Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
drinking something that will probably kill me!" The shriek of the fox ringed in my ears, nearly bursting
my ear drums.
"I won't give it to you if I didn't know it would be harmful for animals"
"No! I refuse to drink that vile thing and ruin my beautiful fox body because of you. Hmph!" He wrapped
his tail around himself, stiffening his body and pointing his snout in their air like a snobby princess he
was. My lips tightened and my eyes narrowed into a slit.
"Homura I can't risk myself getting caught walking around with a fox both disguised or not. They will
discover my identity by just a quick glance at a very familiar fox" I explained feeling my voice turn cold
and the fox glancing back at me in irritation. My anger level was raising, and my blood was boiling from
the impatience and time wasting this fox was doing.
"Listen Homura" I said in a cold tone that made Homura lighten in fear. "There is someone in that castle
that I can't risk to get tangled with and if I do, I have activated a ticking time bomb" I pointed my hand at
the levitating castle at the sky, finally getting my words out so this annoying and stupid fox. Homura
stared at me with a blank expression, his amber eyes staring deep into my icy blue eyes that competed
with his.
He grumbled something beneath his breath that I wasn't able to catch what he said. "Fine but you owe
rabbit meat after this" Homura said narrowing his eyes at me as he poked my nose with his black paw.
"Good" I nodded my head feeling my lips twirl into a smile "Now drink" I shoved the potion to his face
making him turn his head to the side to gag.
"Bleh!" he stuck his tongue out.
"Trust me it tastes like nothing"
