Chapter 15 Heartache
**Sissy's POV**
I woke up from another nightmare. I started to get used to them, but they still disturbed me a lot. I kept recalling the most horrible dream of my life that I saw after I fainted last time.
The snake-faced monster stepped to me, grinning and showing his yellow-stained teeth. He leaned in while the short, thick man stepped next to me as well. They licked my face together. It felt so real that I could even smell the malodorous breath he exhaled onto my face, which made me feel nauseous. I felt my stomach couldn't take it any longer, and I felt it wanted to empty its contents, which made me gag, but it seemed like my reaction just made them more eager. They kept moaning while their tongues touched my skin, like they were about to reach their climaxes.
After they finished enjoying the taste of my pale skin, they straightened up, and the short man told the monster that it was time to chop me up, and he advised him to cut my limbs off first.
The image of the gleaming knife coming towards me, as it wanted to cut my limbs off, looked so real in my mind, like I was in reality. Each time I saw that dream, I felt my whole body shaking in fear, wanting to scream for help, but no sound came out of my throat.
I just watched the ceiling for a little while, letting myself calm down and telling myself it was only a dream.
Soon, I turned my head to check the time. It was only seven o'clock. I tried to go back to sleep, but I couldn't. After turning around a few times, I decided to get up and get ready for work.
As I descended the stairs, I only found William sitting at the table in the dining room. He was dressed in an exquisite suit with a vest and a tie adorned with a diamond tie clip. Even his cuff links were matched with blue gemstones.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
He sipped his coffee gracefully. When he noticed me stepping into the room, he remained indifferent, as if the ambiguous encounter between us had never happened.
His indifference somewhat made me feel relieved; however, I didn't know what was on his mind, which made me feel a bit lost. But regardless of my feelings, I couldn't continue to stay alone with him.
As I descended the stairs, I took a deep breath, and I tried to cross the dining room quietly. Thankfully, I had low-heeled shoes, so I could walk without disturbing him.
"Morning." He greeted me, which made me freeze for a moment, unable to walk away impolitely. I forced myself to smile.
"Good morning, sir." I greeted him quietly as well, but he remained silent, just looking at me. I chose wide-leg pants and a white shirt to wear, wanting to look simple and professional, like a career woman. I just stood there, still unsure of what I should do. Finally, after a few seconds passed, a small bird popped out of a hole in the wall clock in the corner, chirping a few times. It was half-past seven. "Mr. William, I..."
"Come, have breakfast." William ordered calmly. I looked at the table, hoping to find a reason to refuse eating, but the table was spread with sumptuous foods.
He was always like this. He was so elegant and refined in appearance, but dictatorial in his actions. There was no woman or man who would have the courage to refuse him if he decided on something. Feeling I had no choice, I reluctantly walked over and took the seat farthest from him. However, my heart started to race again when he patted the seat next to him. "Sit here," he said.
The long table was about four metres long, allowing a distance, but William didn't let the space between us comfort me. After a moment of silence, I sat down. Even if I wanted to run away, I forced myself to stay calm.
As soon as I sat on the chair, I realised there was already a set of cutlery on the table, which I found weird. The picture of Miley appeared on my mind instantly.
"Where is Miley? Why isn't she here?" I asked, looking at him with a frown.
However, instead of answering my question, William smirked.
"You two have a great relationship." He said.

The way he said this sentence made me feel that there was an underlying meaning in his words, but I couldn't grasp what he was trying to say.
"Yes, we were best friends in college." I said simply.
He smiled again, but his smile was brief, causing my heart to race again. I quickly looked at my plate. I took my sandwich and tasted it, but soon I heard his deep voice again. "Since she is your best friend, help me deliver this to her later."
I felt puzzled while I stared at the brown paper bag that he pointed at.
"What is this?" I asked him, surprised.
"Clothes. She's sick and in the hospital." He answered indifferently.
"What is wrong with her? Why is she in the hospital?" I frowned more. The last time I saw her, she was full of life. There wasn't a trace of her being ill. Thinking of that, I felt even worse. If she got sick suddenly, then that was probably something serious. He mentioned last time that the estate had a full set of medical equipment. Why would she need to go to the hospital? Was her condition severe, beyond the estate's capacity to treat, prompting her hospitalisation?
"She has a heartache." He answered, but his voice sounded somewhat weird. It was like he found my worry for Miley amusing. He didn't act like a husband who worried about his beloved other half. It was like he found nothing wrong with sending his wife's clothes into the hospital with her bestie instead of visiting her himself.
I pulled the bag closer, silently accepting the role, which obviously made him satisfied.
